Important Safety Instructions

• Do not use this apparatus near water.
• Clean only with a dry cloth.
• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat
registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including ampliers)
that produce heat.
• Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or
grounding - type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with
one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two
blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the
third prong are provided for your safety. When the provided
plug does not t into your outlet, consult an electrician for
replacement of the obsolete outlet.
• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the apparatus.
• Only use attachments/accessories specied by the
manufacturer.
• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when
unused for long periods of time.
• Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing
is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any
way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid
has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus,
the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.
• Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket,
or table specied by the manufacturer, or
sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used,
use caution when moving the cart/apparatus
combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
WARNING: Never place a television set in an unstable location.
A televisions set may fall, causing serious personal injury or
death. Many injuries, particularly to children can be avoided by
taking simple precautions such as:
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer
of the televisions set.
• Only using furniture that can safely support the television set.
• Ensuring the televisions set is not overhanging the edge of
the supporting furniture.
• Not placing the televisions set on cloth or other materials that
may be located between the televisions set and supporting
furniture.
• Educating children about the dangers of climbing on
furniture to reach the televisions set or its controls.
If your television set is being retained and relocated, the same
considerations as above should be applied.
NOTE: When choosing where to place this TV that there is a
chance of staining and marks on the surface. As with any rubber
compound made with oils, the feet could cause marks or staining
where the feet rest.

user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing
to qualied service personnel.

The exclamation point within an equilateral
triangle is intended to alert the user to
the presence of important operating and
maintenance (servicing) instructions in the

This product utilizes a Class 1 laser to read
Compact Discs. This laser Compact Disc
Player is equipped with safety switches to
avoid exposure when the CD door is open and
the safety interlocks are defeated. Invisible
laser radiation is present when the CD Player’s
lid is open and the system’s interlock has failed
or been defeated. It is very important that you
avoid direct exposure to the laser beam at
all times. Please do not attempt to defeat or
bypass the safety switches.

NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply

Battery Warnings

• If the remote control supplied with this product contains a
coin/button cell battery and the coin/button cell battery is
swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours
and can lead to death.
• Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the
battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the
product and keep it away from children.
• If you think batteries might have been swallowed or
placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical
attention.
• CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
• WARNING: There is a danger of explosion if you attempt
to charge standard Alkaline batteries in the unit. Only use
rechargeable NiMH batteries.
• Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as
sunshine, re, or the like.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Completely replace all old batteries with new ones.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries.

Additional Warnings and Precautions

• Mains plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain
readily operable during intended use. In order to disconnect
the apparatus from the mains completely, the mains plug
should be disconnected from the mains socket outlet
completely.
• CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments or performance
of procedures other than those specied may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.

Remote
Requires 2 AAA-size batteries (included).
NOTE: Some pixels may be visible on the screen,
appearing as tiny red, green, blue or black spots. This
is normal and is not a defect on the TV, and does not
negatively affect the performance or picture quality.
Connecting the Stand
Take care not to place the TV on a
surface that will scratch or damage
the TV housing or screen. Using a
phillips-head screwdriver, tighten
the screws by hand. Using a power
drill could damage the TV stand.

Connecting Devices to Your TV
Connecting Cable TV or a TV Antenna
Requires a cable TV or "over-the-air" TV antenna wire (not included).
1. Connect the Cable/Antenna wire to the input on the television.
2. Press the Source button to switch to TV mode.
3. Press the Setup button to access the setup menu.
4. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight the Channel icon, and press the Enter button.
5. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight Air/Cable. Press the Arrow () buttons
to select AIR or Cable.
6. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight Auto Scan. Press the Enter button to begin scanning
for available channels.
NOTE: In any Source mode, you can press the channel +/ − button on the remote to switch back to TV mode.
Connecting HDMI
HDMI offers superior sound and picture quality when compared to other AV connection types, and is the easiest
way to connect your media devices to the television.
Use HDMI with Audio Return Channel (ARC) to connect to a compatible audio receiver with a standard HDMI cable,
no stereo or optical audio cables will be needed. Note: ARC may not support surround sound (5.1) or other audio with
more than two channels (2.0).
Requires a device that supports HDMI and a HDMI cable (not included).
1. Connect the device’s HDMI output to an HDMI input on the television.
2. Press the Source button to switch to the connected input HDMI.
Connecting Component (YPbPr) Video/Audio
Requires component video (green/blue/red) and RCA stereo (red/white) cables (not included).
1. Connect the audio output on your media device to the corresponding color coded audio input on the
television with stereo RCA cables.
2. Connect the video output on your media device to the corresponding color coded video inputs on the
television with a Component Video cable.
3. Power the television on and press the Source button to switch to the connected input YPbPr.

Connecting a Computer
Requires a VGA cable a 3.5mm audio cable (both not included) and a PC with a VGA and 3.5mm audio output.
1. Connect the computer’s VGA output to the VGA/PC Input on the television.
2. Press the Source button to switch to the PC Mode.
3. Audio from the connected PC can be input to the television through the TV’s PC Audio Input by using
a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
Connecting Composite Audio/Video
Requires composite video (yellow) and RCA stereo (red/white) cables (not included).
1. Connect the video output on your media device to the corresponding color coded video inputs on the television
with a Composite Video cable.
2. Connect the audio output on your media device to the corresponding color coded audio input on the television
with stereo RCA cables.
3. Press the Source button to switch to the connected input AV Composite.
Connecting Optical Audio
Requires a Digital Optical Audio Cable (not included) and an audio receiver with a Digital Optical Input.
1. Connect the Digital Optical Audio Cable from the Optical Output on the television to the Input
on the receiver.
2. Set the receiver to accept the Optical Input source from the television.
Please Note:
Home theater systems may label the Digital Optical Out source differently, such as “PCM”,
or“Digital Audio Input”. Please consult your home theater system’s user manual in order to select
the correct input source.
If there is no sound, be sure the Digital Audio Output is set to PCM (under the screen in TV Setup).

Playing a DVD or CD
Note: This unit is not compatible with MP3 CDs.
1. Insert a DVD or CD into the slot-load disc drive, with the label side facing away from you. Once a DVD or CD is
loaded into the television, the TV will automatically switch to DVD mode
2. Press the Play/Pause button on the remote or TV to begin playing the loaded disc.
DVD Setup Menu
In DVD mode, press the DVD Setup button to access the DVD setup menu. Press the DVD Setup button to exit the
DVD setup menu.
Programming a DVD or CD
1. While a DVD or CD is playing, press the Program button on the remote.
2. Using the Number Keypad enter in the chapters or tracks in the order you want them to play.
3. Highlight the on-screen Start button using the Arrow buttons and press the Enter button.
4. The programmed chapters and tracks will now play in the designated order.
5. To cancel a program, press the Stop button twice.

Using a USB Thumb Drive
1. Load a USB thumb drive into the USB Port
on the side of the television.
2. Press the Source button to switch to USB mode.
3. Use the Arrow and Enter buttons to select and
play content from the connected USB thumb drive.
USB & SD, MMC, MS Memory Card
Using a Memory Card
1. Load an SD, MMC, or MS memory card on the side
of the television.
2. Press the Source button on the remote to switch
to SD mode.
3. Use the Arrow and Enter buttons to select and
play content from the connected SD, MMC, or MS
memory card.

Parental Controls (V-Chip)
1. Press the Source button to switch to TV mode.
2. Press the Setup button.
3. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight Lock, and press the Enter button.
4. Enter the default passcode "0 0 0 0" to access the Lock preferences.
5. From this menu, you can lock out specific ratings from the United States rating system or the Canadian
rating system by accessing the V-CHIP settings. You can also lock the buttons on the television or lock
specific sources from access.
Setting Favorites
1. Press the Source button to switch to TV mode.
2. Press the Setup button to access the setup menu.
3. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight the Channel icon, then press the Enter button.
4. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight the Favorites icon, then press the Enter button.
5. Use the Arrow () buttons to select the desired channels, then press the Enter button.
Viewing Favorites
1. Press the Source button to switch to TV mode.
2. Press the Favorites button to view a list of your saved favorites.
Setting the Clock
1. Press the Setup button to access the setup menu.
2. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight the Time icon, and press the Enter button.
3. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight Time Zone, and press the Arrow () buttons to select your
current time zone.
4. Press the Arrow() buttons to highlight Auto Clock, and press the Arrow() buttons to turn auto clock on
or off. When the correct time zone is set, auto clock will automatically set your clock and date for you.
5. To set the time and date manually, turn Auto Clock off, highlight Clock and use the Arrow and Enter buttons to
manually set the time and date.
Settings
Auto Scanning for Channels
The Auto Channel Scan must be run before any channels can be viewed on the television. Initial channel scanning
process may take up to 15 min.
1. Press the Source button to switch to TV mode.
2. Press the Setup button to access the Setup menu.
3. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight the Channel icon, and press the Enter button.
4. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight AIR/Cable, and press ()to select AIR.
5. Press the Arrow () buttons to highlight Auto Scan, and press the Enter button to begin scanning
for available channels.
