Introduction
1. About IFM-500
IFM-500 is a Bluetooth hands-free car kit with a Bluetooth stereo receiver
and built-in FM transmitter. It also has a DC 5V USB Charging socket to
power or charge other devices. With the IFM-500 you can make calls safely
while driving, and listen to your music. IFM-500 has the following features:
i. Bluetooth hands-free car kit—Pair with a Bluetooth cell phone or
PDA supporting HFP(Hands Free Protocol):
Answer call, end call and reject call
Redial last number
Voice dial
ii. Bluetooth stereo receiver—Pair with a Bluetooth cell phone or
Bluetooth transmitter supporting A2DP:

IFM-500 has a USB charging socket which provides DC 5V voltage for

powering and charging other devices. (USB cable not included)

3. Before Using
i. Connect the flexible gooseneck cigarette adaptor with the main body of
the IFM-500.
ii. As the following pictures shows: put the cigarette lighter plug into the car
cigarette socket, and adjust the knob on cigarette adaptor to secure the
adaptor tightly.
OR
iii. Adjust the car holder to secure your phone.

iv. Press the power switch on cigarette adaptor to activate the IFM-500, and
the indicator light will turn blue.

How to Operate IFM-500
1. Pairing and connecting with Bluetooth cell phone
For the first use, you should pair IFM-500 with your cell phone. Please
make sure your cell phones Bluetooth feature is enabled. Specific pairing
steps may vary with different models of cell phones. Please refer to your cell
phone‟s user‟s manual for further information.
Pairing Guide:
a) Keep IFM-500 and your Bluetooth cell phone within 1 meter (3 Feet)
when pairing;
b) Press and Hold button for 2 seconds until indicator light flashes
rapidly blue and red;
c) Activate your cell phone‟s Bluetooth function and search for Bluetooth
devices. After the search is completed, select “IFM-500”from the
Bluetooth device list;
d) You will be prompted to enter a password/PIN you will then enter “0000”
and press “Yes”or “Confirm”;
e) After successful pairing, select “IFM-500”from the Bluetooth device list
and press “Connect”. After successful connecting, and will light
on.
Remarks:
Pairing mode will last 2 minutes. If no devices are connected within 2
minutes, IFM-500 will return back to standby mode. If you want to
re-pair, please turn off IFM-500 first and then start from step (a) from
above.
After initially pairing and connecting your cell phone you don‟t need to
do it again! Your phone will connect automatically!
Every time the IFM-500 is turned on, it will connect to the last connected
device automatically.
When the device is in standby mode, and not connected with other
devices, short press once, IFM-500 will connect with last connected
device.
2. Adjusting FM frequency
1) Short press knob button once, IFM-500 will enter frequency adjustable
mode and the LED display will flash. Please rotate the knob until the

frequency on the IFM-500 is the same as the car radio.
2) Auto-search function: press and hold knob button for 2 seconds and
release it until the display shows „-----‟. IFM-500 wills auto-search an empty
station.

Remark:
IFM-500 will remember and show last used frequency automatically after
turned on.

Please make sure IFM-500 is connected with your cell phone. please make
sure that the microphone of the IFM-500 is facing the user.

Remarks:
Your cell phone must support AVRCP profile, in order to use Remote
control functions (last track/next track/pause/play).
Not all cell phones support all functions listed above. Please refer to your
cell phone‟s user‟s manual for further information
6. Line out
This product has a Line out function. You can transmit the audio (music/call)
to the car stereo system via Line out. When you use Line out, IFM-500 will
turn off FM transmitter automatically.

7. Line in
This product has a Line in function. If your player has Line out jack, you
can transmit music from player to vehicle speakers.
8. Charging your portable device
This product has a charge output jack (DC5V/1A). You can charge your
portable device. Before doing so, please turn the USB function switch on the
back to the charge icon, per the following picture:
9. Factory Reset
While the device is turned off, press and button for 6 seconds
simultaneously. IFM-500 will delete all paired devices and the FM
frequency, also restore factory settings. Turn off IFM-500, and then turn on

again, it will enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically.

Read the following recommendations before using IFM-500. Following
these you will help enjoy your product for many years.
Keep it dry and don‟t take it to damp places to avoid the product‟s
internal circuit being affected.
Keep the product away from direct sunlight or hot places. High
temperatures will shorten the life of electronic devices. Don‟t expose the
product to cold areas. It may damage the internal circuit board.
Don‟t try to disassemble the product as it may get damaged if you are not
professional.
Don‟t let it fall down onto the floor or other hard surfaces. The internal
circuit might get damaged.
Don‟t use intensive chemical products or detergent to clean the product.
Don‟t scratch the surface with sharp objects.

1. Why is the sound coming from my car’s FM radio noisy?
a) Please make sure your car‟s FM radio has been set to an unused
Frequency;
b) Ensure both IFM-500 and your car‟s FM radio use the same frequency;
c) Please make sure IFM-500 is in the effective working range.
2. Why can’t my IFM-500 be paired with a Bluetooth device?
a) Please make sure IFM-500 is in pairing mode;
b) Ensure IFM-500 is in the effective working range.
3. Why can’t music be played when connected to a Bluetooth cell
phone?
a) Please make sure your Bluetooth cell phone supports A2DP;
b) Ensure IFM-500 is in the effective working range.
4. Why can’t I pause, play, rewind and forward to next song from my
IFM-500 during music playback?
a) For this function your portable device needs to support AVRCP
(Audio/Video
Remote Control Profile)
b) When you use Line in, IFM-500 remote control won‟t be functioning.
5. Why can’t I adjust the volume?
a) You can adjust volume only the IFM-500 has already been connected
with
Your Bluetooth device and it is playing music or making a call.
b) When you use Line in, IFM-500 cannot adjust volume.
