Safety Is a Good Habit to Get Into
NOTICE
Carefully read the instructions contained in this manual,
as they provide important information which is essential
to safe and proper installation, use and maintenance of
the appliance.
This appliance complies with the following
EEC directives:
- 73/23/EEC of 19/02/73 (Low Voltage) and
subsequent modifications;
- 89/336/EEC of 03/05/89 (Electromagnetic
Compatibility) and subsequent modifications.
1.Carefully dispose of the packing material.
2.After removing the packing, check to make sure that
the appliance is not damaged. If in doubt, contact a
qualifiedprofessional.
3.The dishwasher must only be used by adults for the
washing of household dishes and cooking utensils.
4.Fundamentalrulestofollowwhenusingtheappliance:
-Nevertouchthedishwasherwhenbarefootorwithwet
hands or feet;
- We discourage the use of extension cords and multiple
sockets;
- During installation, the power supply cord must not be
excessively or dangerously bent or flattened;

must be performed, disconnect the appliance from the
powersupply.

also be kept away from the dishwasher when it is open.

cycle.
8.Do not lean or sit on the door when it is open, as this
couldoverturn thedishwasher.
9.If the appliance malfunctions, turn off water supply to
theappliance and disconnect the plug from thewallsocket.
Then,consult the sectionentitled,"Troubleshooting."If you
cannot resolve the problem, contact a service centre.
10.Appliances which are no longer being used must be
made inoperable by cutting the power supply cord and
removing the door lock.

Salt ......
Salt
The hardness of the water varies from place to place. If
hard water is used in the dishwasher, deposits will form on
the dishes and utensils.
The appliance is equipped with a special softener that uses
a salt specifically designed to eliminate lime and minerals
from the water.
Loading the Salt into
the Softener
Always use salt intended
for use with dishwashers.
The salt container is
locatedbeneath the lower
rack and should be filled
as follows:
1. Remove the lower rack
and then unscrew and
remove the cap from the
salt container;
2. If you are filling the
container for the first time, fill it with water;
3. Place the end of the funnel (supplied) into the hole and
introduceabout 2 kg of salt. It is normalfor a small amount
of water to come out of the salt container.
4. Carefully screw the cap back on.
The salt container should be filled up when the low
salt indicator light "E" flashes on the LCD.
Warning: To prevent rust from forming, we advise you to
load the salt before starting a wash cycle.
Adjusting Salt Consumption
Thedishwasher isdesigned toallowfor adjustingtheamount
of salt consumed based on the
harness of the water used. This
isintended to optimize and cus-
tomize the level of salt con-
sumptionso that it remains at a
minimum.
Your Local Water Board can
supply the degree of hardness
of the water
in your area.
Toadjustsaltconsumption, pro-
ceed as follows:
1) Unscrew the cap from the salt container.
2) There is a ring on the container with an arrow on it (see
figure to the side), if necessary, rotate the ring in the anti-
clockwise direction from the "_" setting towards the "+"
sign, based on the hardness of the water being used.
It is recommended that adjustments be made in accord-
ance with the following schema:

Detergent and Rinse Aid ....
Detergent
Detergent specifically intended for use with dishwashers
must be used. The dispenser must be refilled before the
startof eachwashcycle followingtheinstructions provided
in the "Wash Cycle Table." The detergent dispenser is
located on the inside panel of the door.
Loading the detergent
Toopenlid"A",pressbutton"B".The cleaning detergent
shouldbe introduced intothetwo containers "C"and"D"
up to the rim.
After pouring in the detergent, replace the lid, pressing
down until it clicks.
Dishwasher detergent in tablets is now available on the
market, in which case you should place one tablet into
container "D" and replace the lid.
Those Institutes which carry out comparative tests should
keepto the dosage indicationscontainedin the wash cycle
table..
The rinse aid
Thisproduct makes dishes sparklemoreand it improves their
drying.The rinse aid container is situated ontheinsideof the
door; it should be filled up when the low rinse aid indicator
light "F" flashes on the LCD.
Loading the Rinse Aid
Toopenthedispenser,turnthe "C" cap intheanti-clockwise
direction and then pour in the rinse aid, making sure not to
overfill. The amount of rinse aid used for each cycle can be
regulatedby turning the "F" dose adjustor, located beneath
the "C" cap, with a screwdriver. There are 6 different
settings; the normal dosage setting is 4.
Important:
Proper dosage of the rinse aid improves drying.
If drops of water remain on the dishes or spotting occurs,
the dosage adjustor should be turned to a higher setting. If
the dishes have white streaks, turn the dosage adjustor to a
lowersetting.

Loading the Dishwasher
Load for 12 Standard Settings (for IEC- EN 50242 tests:
upper rack at top position)
Before placing the dishes in the dishwasher, remove the
larger food particles to prevent the filter from becoming
clogged, which results in reduced performance.
Ifthe pots and pans have baked-on foodthat is extremely
hard to remove, we recommend that they be allowed to
soak before they are washed. This will eliminate the need
for extra wash cycles.
Pull out the racks to facilitate loading the dishwasher.
How to Use the Lower Rack
We recommend that you place the most difficult to clean
items on the bottom rack: pots, pans, lids, serving dishes
and bowls, as shown in the figure to the right.
It is preferable to place serving dishes and lids on the
sides of the racks in order to avoid blocking the rotation
of the top spray arm.
- Pots, serving bowls, etc. must always be placed top
down.
- Deep pots should be
slanted to allow the water
toflow out.
- The bottom rack features
fold down tine rows (see
figure B) so that larger or
more pots and pans can be
loaded.
-The silverware basket can
be doubled (see figure A)
so that only one section may be used when the silver-
ware load is light. This also makes space for additional
pots and pans, and it can also be placed in the upper
rack.
- Silverware should be placed in the silverware basket
with the handles at the bottom; If the rack has side
baskets, the spoons should be loaded individually into
the appropriate slots. Especially long utensils should be
placed in the horizontal position at the front of the upper
rack.
How to Use the Upper Rack
The upper rack is designed to hold more delicate and
lighter dishware, such as glasses, coffee and tea cups
and saucers, as well as plates, small bowls and shallow
pans (as long as they are not too dirty).
- Position the dishes and cookware so that they do not
get moved by the spray of water.
The upper rack can be adjusted for height by using the
knobs located on the sides of the rack itself (see figure
C).

Turning on the Appliance
How to start a wash cycle…
Afterperforming all the operations described in theprevious
chapters, turn the water tap on completely, press ON-OFF
button"A" situated on thecontrolpanel, indicator light"B"
comes on.
Thedisplay turns on andthe3 dashes appear, indicatingthat
thedishwasher is awaiting instructions.
Starting and setting the cycle.
Turn thecycle selector "M"until the referencenotch on the
knob corresponds with the symbol or number of the cycle
you wish to set (consult the wash cycle table contained in
this manual, especially when first using the appliance).
After a few seconds, a beep indicates the wash cycle has
started and indicator "G" displays the phase with which it
hasbegun. The counter "L" willindicatetheamount of time
left until the end of the wash cycle.
Cancelling or modifying a wash cycle in progress…..
Premise: a wash cycle in progress can only be modified if it
hasn'tbeenrunningforlong.
To modify a wash cycle in progress, turn knob "M" until it
reaches the RESET position.
After a few seconds, you will hear 4 beeps, indicator "G"
relating to the phase under way will come off and 3 dashes
will appear. At this point, all the settings will have been
cancelled.
Toselect anewwashcycle, repeattheinstructions contained
in the paragraph entitled "Starting and setting the cycle"
If you have left out a dish…
Youcaninterrupt awashcyclebypressingtheON-OFFbutton,
then place the forgotten dishes into the appliance, which
will start up from where it was interrupted when you turn it
back on.
Cycle phase underway indicator
Yourdishwasherisequippedwithanindicator"G"comprising
4 symbols which represent the different phases of a wash
cycle.When the wash cycle has started, the display willindi-
cate the phases underway in sequence.
These phases are:
pre-wash, wash, rinses, drying.
At the end of the wash cycle….
The end of the wash cycle is signalled by 2 beeps, and a
flashing"END" willcome upon thedisplay.Bringtheselector
back to the RESET position, and the 3 dashes for
programming cancellation will appear.
Turn the appliance off by pressing the ON-OFF button, turn
off the water tap and open the door. Wait a few minutes
before removing the dishes: this way you won't have to
handle them while they're still hot and they will dry better.
How to eliminate the drying phase.
To eliminate the drying phase from the wash cycle you wish
to start, just turn the knob to the Reset position then first
and foremost set any preferences as to:
Þupper or lower rack
Þdelayed start
Start the wash cycle by following the instructions. Symbol
relating to the drying phase will flash for approximately
4seconds; immediately press button "I"andthesymbol will
disappear, thus indicating that the drying phase has been
eliminated.

Dishwasher delayed start programming
Premise: before selecting a wash cycle as indicated in the
paragraph entitled "Starting and setting a wash cycle…", a
delayed start can be set.
Pressbutton "D"(seeclose-upview "controlpanel") todelay
the start of a wash cycle by 1 to 24 hours. Each time you
pressthebutton,thecounter"L"will display the number of
hoursthe cyclestart hasbeendelayed byinsequence; choose
the time you prefer.
The delayed start indicator light "H" flashes and when the
appliance starts, the counter will begin the countdown to
the delayed start.
When this time is up, the wash cycle will begin and the
counter will now serve to display the amount of time left
until the end of the wash cycle.
NOTE:
nit is best if you keep from modifying anything during
countdown;if this isabsolutely necessary,thenturn the knob
to the RESET position: 4 beeps and the 3 dashes appearing
indicate that all settings have been cancelled
Repeat the operations for "dishwasher delayed start
programming"and for "startingandsetting the wash cycle"
followingtheinstructionsintherelative paragraphs.
nShouldtherebeapowerfailureorshouldthedoorof
the appliance be opened during the countdown, the latter
will come to a stop and will re-start either when the power
comes back on or when the door is closed.

Wash cycle modification buttons
Half load selection button on upper or lower rack.
This can be selected before setting any wash cycle, yet we
remindyouthatyoushouldhalve theamount of detergent
recommended for the wash cycle you have selected (see
wash cycle table).
Pressbutton"I" and you will hear a beep, the indicator "N"
appearson the display: you can select which rack to perform
the half load on. Each time the button is pressed, you will
hear a beep, and symbol appears indicating the wash
on the upper rack, whereas symbol indicates the wash
on the lower rack. Press the button again and you will hear
another beep, thereby resetting the selection and the
appliance will consequently wash on both racks.
To use the racks correctly, we recommend you read the
chapterentitled"Loading the dishes".
