SAFETY INFORMATION
PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO
EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY:
(a) Do not attempt to operate this microwave with the door open because
this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is
important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
(b) Do not place any object between the microwave front face and the
door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.

3
Microwave Oven - Stainless Steel
www.insigniaproducts.com
(c) Do not operate the microwave if it is damaged. It is particularly
important that the microwave door closes properly and that there is
no damage to the the door, hinges and latches, or door seals and
sealing surface.
(d) The microwave should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except
properly qualified service personnel.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1Read all instructions before using the microwave.
2Read and follow: “PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE
TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY:” found on page 2.
3Close supervision is necessary to reduce the risk of a fire in the
microwave cavity.
4To reduce the risk of fire in the microwave cavity:
• Do not overcook food. Carefully attend the microwave when paper,
plastic, or other combustible materials are placed inside the
microwave.
• Remove wire twist-ties and metal handles from paper or plastic
containers/bags before placing them in the microwave.
• If materials inside the microwave ignite, keep the microwave door
closed. Turn the microwave off and unplug the microwave or shut
off power at the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
• Do not use the microwave cavity for storage purposes. Do not
leave paper products, cooking utensils, or food in the cavity when
not in use.
5This microwave must be grounded. Connect only to a properly
grounded outlet. See “GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS” found on
page 5.
6Install or locate this appliance only in accordance with the provided
installation instructions.
7Some products, such as whole eggs and sealed containers (for
example closed glass jars) are able to explode and should not be
heated in this microwave.
Warning
To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire,
injury to persons, or exposure to excessive
microwave energy when using your microwave,
follow basic safety precautions, including the
following.

4

9Close supervision is necessary when used by children.
10 Do not operate this microwave if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is
not working properly, or if it has been damaged or dropped.
11 This microwave should be serviced only by qualified service
technicians. Contact the nearest authorized service facility for
examination, repair, or adjustment.
12 Do not cover or block any openings on the microwave.

16 Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
17 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
18 When cleaning surfaces of the door and the microwave that come
together on closing the door, use only mild, nonabrasive soaps or
detergents applied with a sponge or soft cloth.
19 Liquids, such as water, coffee, or tea can be overheated beyond the
boiling point without appearing to be boiling. Visible bubbling or
boiling when the container is removed from the microwave is not
always present. THIS COULD RESULT IN VERY HOT LIQUIDS SUDDENLY
BOILING OVER WHEN THE CONTAINER IS DISTURBED OR A SPOON OR
OTHER UTENSIL IS INSERTED INTO THE LIQUID.
• Do not overheat the liquid.
• Stir the liquid both before and halfway through heating it.
• Do not use straight-sided containers with narrow necks, such as
syrup bottles.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This microwave must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short
circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an
escape wire for the electric current. This microwave is equipped with a
cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be
plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions
are not completely understood or if doubt exists as to whether the
microwave is properly grounded. If it is necessary to use an extension
cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-pronged grounding
plug, and a 3-slot receptacle that will accept the plug on the microwave.
The marked rating of the extension cord shall be equal to or greater than
the electrical rating of the microwave.
• A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Longer cord sets or extension cords are available and may be used
if care is exercised in their use.
• If a long cord set or extension cord is used:
• The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
microwave.
• The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
• The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape
over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over unintentionally.
RADIO INTERFERENCE
1Operation of the microwave may cause interference to your radio, TV,
or similar equipment.
2When there is interference, it may be reduced or eliminated by taking
the following measures:
• Clean the door and the sealing surface of the microwave.
• Reorient the receiving antenna of the radio or television.
Warning - Electric Shock Hazard
Touching some of the internal components can
cause serious personal injury or death. Do not
disassemble this microwave.
Improper grounding can result in electric shock.
Do not plug into an outlet until the microwave is
properly installed and grounded.

6
Microwave Oven - Stainless Steel
www.insigniaproducts.com
• Relocate the microwave with respect to the receiver.
• Move the microwave away from the receiver.
• Plug the microwave into a different outlet so that the
microwave and receiver are on different branch circuits.
SAFETY
1The microwave must be on a level surface.
2The turntable and turntable roller rest must be in the microwave
during cooking. Place the cookware gently on the turntable and
handle it carefully to avoid possible breakage.
3Incorrect use of a browning dish may cause the turntable to break.
4Use only the specified bag size when using the Popcorn button.
5The microwave has several built-in safety switches to make sure that
the power remains off when the door is open. Do not tamper with
these switches.
6Do not operate the microwave empty. Operating the microwave with
no food or food that is extremely low in moisture can cause fire,
charring, or sparking.
7Do not cook bacon directly on the turntable. Excessive local heating of
the turntable may cause the turntable to break.
8Do not heat baby bottles or baby food in the microwave. Uneven
heating may occur and could cause physical injury.
9Do not attempt to deep-fry in your microwave.
10 Do not attempt home canning in your microwave, as it is impossible to
be sure all contents of the jar have reached boiling temperature.
11 Do not use your microwave for commercial purpose. Your microwave
is made for household use only.
12 Use carefully when cooking food in the microwave to avoid burning
due to excessive cooking.
13 Failure to maintain the microwave in a clean condition could lead to
deterioration that could adversely affect the life of the appliance and
possibly result in a hazardous situation.
Cookware and cooking materials
Cookware and other materials must fit on the turntable. Always use oven
mitts or pot holders because cookware may become hot.
Warning - Personal Injury Hazard
Tightly-closed containers could explode. Closed
containers should be opened and plastic
pouches should be pierced before cooking.
