MODEL 6152A
SPEAKER LIGHT BOX
1.0 GENERAL
The ITS Model 6152A Speaker Light Box is a dual function unit which provides a powered
speaker set with dual stereo inputs and a pair of high intensity halogen lights for work space
and maintenance illumination. The 6152A differs from the 6152 in that the lamp on the
front panel includes a three inch extension.
Also included is a mixer, which allows distribution of the signals from the two stereo inputs
to the audio amplifier.
The unit is housed on a 3.5 inch x 19-inch rack mountable enclosure and is powered by
115VAC line or alternatively 230VAC (6152A-1).

2
2.0 FUNCTIONS
2.1 STEREO SPEAKER SET
The unit contains a pair of front panel mounted oval speakers, one each for the left and right
channels; three front panel adjustment pots, one each for volume, balance, and mix; and
four rear panel input jacks, one each for right and left inputs for XLR and RCA,
respectively. The speakers are driven via the audio PCB 1412267, which also contains the
mixer and audio controls. The volume control adjusts the common gain voltage to both
channels. The balance control adjusts the relative levels of audio between the right and left
channels. The mix control adjusts the relative levels of audio between the RCA and the
XLR inputs. The RCA inputs are unbalanced and are typically supplied from a computer
with output levels of approximately 0dbm. The XLR inputs are balanced and are typically
supplied from a VCR, DTR or PA audio systems.
2.2 LIGHTING
The 6152A contains a pair of high intensity halogen lamps; one mounted on the front panel
and used for console illumination; the other mounted on the rear panel used for
maintenance. The front panel lamp can be swiveled to any direction, limited only by the
interference with other front panel controls, and the intensity is adjustable between zero and
20 watts output via a front panel adjustment pot. This lamp is typically used to illuminate
the console operator's work area. The rear panel lamp is a fixed intensity 20 watt lamp with
on/off button. This lamp has an integral clamp and coil cord, and is typically used by the
maintenance technician for working inside or behind the console rack.

3
3.0 MECHANICAL CONFIGURATION
The 6152A is housed in a 3.5 inch high x 19 inch wide x 8.5 inch deep rack mountable
sheet metal cabinet. Al circuitry is on two printed circuit assemblies.
All operator adjustments are located on the front panel. All connectors are mounted on the
rear panel.
