vinegar,anddrythoroughlywithacloth.
5 Closetheappliance.
6 Insertthepluginthesocket
7 Switchontheappliancebyturningthetemperaturecontrol
totheright(Forthetimebeing,turnthecontrollerfullyto

8 Donotopentheapplianceanymoreforabout4hours

peratureintheinnercompartmenttodroptothenecessary
level.
9 Youcannowlltheappliancewithanyamountofdeep
frozenfood(purchasedreadyfrozengoods)
Important!
Donotstoreanybottlescontainingliquids.Liquidexpandswhen
frozenandthebottlecanexplode.Neverkeepcontainerswith
explosivesubstances(gaslighters,petrol,etherandthelike)in
thefreezercompartmentoftheappliance.
Whenstoringreadyfrozenfood,youmustobservethemanufac-
turer’sinstructionsonthefoodpackaging.
Deepfrozenice-creamandicelolliesmustbeeatenonlyafew
minutesafterbeingtakenfromtheappliancetoavoidinjuryto
lipsandtongue(dangerofskindetachment).Forthesamerea-
son,avoidtouchingtheinnerwallswithwethands.Weadvise
youtousedefrostedorslightlyfrozenproductswithinshorttime.
Asarule,suchproductsarenotsuitableforre-freezing.
Indicator-lights
Ifyourapplianceisequippedwithindicator-lights,thefollowing
guideexplainswhatismeantbyeachlightup:
A Green=Controllamp,indicatepowerontheappliance.
B Red=Alarm
Thegreencontrollightmustalwaysbeonwhentheapplianceis
connectedtopowerandswitchedon.Itisveryimportanttopay
attentiontothis,becauseintheeventofapowerfailure.
Iftheredindicator-lightgoeson,theremaybeseveralreasons
forthis,namely:
•Firststart-upofappliance
•Restartafterdefrosting
•Fillingfreezerwithfreshfood
Connection to power supply
Yourappliancemustbeconnectedtoapowersockedwithgroun-
ded connection, which is conform to the respective standards
andhasbeeninstalledbyanauthorisedspecialist.
Before you connect the plug of the appliance with the power
socket,makeabsolutelysurethatthevoltage(V)ontheappli-
ance’sdata-platecorrespondswiththatofyourmains.
Ifthevoltagediffers,notifytheafter-sales-serviceoryourdealer
immediately,anddonotonanyaccountconnecttheappliance
tothemains.
Interior light
(not provided in all models)
Aswitchisbuiltintoappliancesequippedwithlighting.
Whentheapplianceisopenedthelightgoesonautomatically
and switches off automatically when closed. The lamp is pro-
tectedwithatransparentcover.

Transport and installation
1 Placeonleveloorandremovethebottompacking,inorder
todecreasetheshockandnoise.
Theanglebetweenthecompartmentbodyandground
shouldbenomorethan45°
2 Enoughspaceshouldbeleftbetweenthefreezeandthe
wallforventilation.
3 Placethefreezerawayfromheatsourceanddonotexpose
todirectsunshine.
4 Donotinstallwherethereismoistureorwhereitcaneasily
besplashedbywater.
5 Donotplacethefreezeinenvironmentpronetofreezing.
6 Theapplianceshouldnotbeusedinopenairandshouldnot
beexposedtorain.
Adjustment and running
Thestoringtemperature canbeadjustedbythethermostatof
thecompartment.Thethermostatshouldbeadjustedaccording
todifferentenvironmenttemperatureandthefoodbyrotating
theknobofthethermostat.Theknobrotatesclockwisefrom”1”
to“7”(ordirectionarc)andtheinsidetemperatureturnsdown
insummer(anti-clockwiserotation)andupinwinter(clockwise
rotation).Itisusuallyxedtoacertainpointbeforeleavingthe
factory.Donotadjusttoooftenortouchtheotherparts.
Trial running
Pluginandwait.Themarkeddropintemperaturewithinhalfan
hourindicatesthatthefreezerworksproperly.Thecompressor
shouldbelefttorunforaperiodoftime(6hoursinsummer4
hoursinwinter)beforeputtingthefoodin.
Important: Escapingrefrigerantcaninjureyoureyes.
Intheeventofeyecontactwiththerefrigerant,washyoureyes
instantlyunderplentyofrunningwaterandcall/consultaneye
specialistimmediately.
KLIMATE CLASSES
Apparatetskalopstillesindendørspåettørtogfungererbedst,
hvisdetståretsted,hvoromgivelsernestemperatursvarer til
denklimaklasse,dererangivetpåapparatestypeskilt.
Thesetemperaturesshouldnotbeexceeded!Theclimatecate-

Copy the technical data from the rating plate to here so that
itisatanytimereadilyavailable,withouthavingtomovethe
appliance.
Normal operation sounds
Inordertomaintainaconstantproducttemperature,themotor
startsatregularintervals.Itsoundsitmakesareordinaryopera-
tionsounds,andtheywillautomaticallyshortenassoonasthe
producthasreachedthedesiredtemperature.Thisincludesthe
followingsounds:
Minor errors/disturbances
Errorsmayoccurwiththeuseoftheproduct.Beforecontacting
theservicedepartment,pleaserstcheckwhetheryoucansolve
themusingthefollowinginstructions:
Hum
Comesfromtheengine.Thishummaysometimesbestronger,
suchaswhentheenginestarts.
Gurgling sounds or slight hum
Comesfromthecoolantwhichcirculatesintheproduct.

Thereissmallclickeachtimetheelectronicscardstartsorstops
theengine.
Light background noise
Iftherefrigeratorhasafan(dependingonmodel),theairthat
circulatesinsidetheproductmaycreatealightbackgroundnoise
Freezing / storage of fresh food
Almostallfreshproductsaresuitableforfreezingandstoragein
theappliance.
Forthemostcommonoftheseproducts,weprovideatablewith
instructionsonacceptablestoragetimesandthemostsuitable
packingmaterial.
Labelthefreshproductsclearlyastheyarenoteasytoidentify
whendeepfrozenintransparentfreezer-bags.
Weadvise you touse commercially availablelabels forfrozen
foods.
Pack fresh products in portions suitable for your household to
preventdefrostingofquantitiesthataretoolargeforconsump-
tioninonedayinyourhousehold.

Thencontinueasfollows
1 Werecommendyouplacefreshfoodsinthebottomofthe
freezer.Thisisthecoldestpart.
Avoidtoputfreshfoodsdirectlyincontactwithdeepfrozen
food.Deepfrozenfoodcoulddefrostandmaynotoutlast
theforeseenstoragetime.
2 Fillinwithin24hours,onlythequantitiesoffreshfoodthat
aresuitableforthefreezingcapacityofyourappliance.See
informationontheratingplate(XXkg/24h).
3 After24hours,shiftdeep-frozengoodsfromthefreezer
bottomorthepre-freezeshelftoahungbasketsothatthe
pre-freezeshelforfreezerbottomareavailableforfreezing
additionalfreshfoods.
4 Setthetemperaturecontroltooneoftheappliance’srel-
evantllingcapacities.
5 Keepthetemperatureinthestorageshelfundercontrol,
preferablybyplacingathermometerwithascalerangeof
upto–26°C.
Thestoragetemperaturemustalwaysbeatleast-18°C.
Rellingoffreshfood(notfrozen)
Makesurethatyourellfreshfood,inquantitiesadequatetothe
freezingcapacity(XXkg/24h)earliest24hoursaftertheprevious
lling.(donotexceedmaximumstackingheight)
Maximum stacking height
To ensurecorrectstorageoffrozenfood,neverllthestorage
compartmentuptotheedge.Alwaysallowspacebetweenthe
lidandthefrozenfoods.Notethestackingmarksafxedbythe
manufacturer.(asfarasavailable)
Set the temperature control strictly according to the lling ca-
pacity.
Tosaveenergywhenoperatinginnormalambienttemperature
(+18to+22°C).
Storage time
Thestoragetimeforpurchaseddeep-frozenproductsvariesand
depends on the type of product and its packaging. Therefore,
strictlyobservetheproducer’sinstructionsonthepackaging.
Afterbeingdefrosted,foodmustbeconsumedimmediatelybut
latestwithinthenext24hours.
Precautions and advice
• Whenevercleaningordefrosting,removethepowerplug.
• Afterclosingthefreezerlid,donotopenitimmediatelyand
donotforceitopenunderanycircumstances.Anyvacuum
remainingonthesealisreleasedafterabout1or2minutes,
sothatthelidcanbeopenednormallyonceagain.
• Topreventcondensationandiceforming,allowcookedfood
tocooldowntoambienttemperaturebeforeclosingthelid
ofthedishandbeforestorage.
• Leavethefreezerlidopenasbrieyaspossibletoavoid
wasteofenergyandtopreventanexcessiveamountofice
formingintheappliance.
• Iftheredindicator-lightgoesonunexpectedlyorstaysonfor
alongperiod,donotopenthelidonanyaccountandtake
theappropriatemeasuresimmediately
• Donotuseascrewdriverorothermetalobjectstoremove
thelayerofice.Theinteriorwallsareverydelicateandwill
nottolerateanysharpedges.Useonlyplasticorwooden
scrapers.
Cleaning and maintenance
For the upkeep of the external appearance of your appliance,
nowandagaincleanwithfurniturepolishorotherenamelpro-
tectingproduct(never,onanyaccount,useitintheinside.Clean
thesealwithwarmwaternowandagainwithoutusinganyclea-
ningproduct.
Ifyourappliancehasacondenserintherearinside,fromtimeto
timeremovedirtanddust.Dustanddirtimpedereleaseofheat
from the inner compartment and considerably increases con-
sumptionofenergy.Forbestresults,usealightbrushorduster
toremovedustfromthecondenserontherearwall.
Ifyouleaveyourapplianceout ofuseforan extendedperiod
(e.g.whenonholidays),leaveitopentopreventodoursbuilding
upinside.Forapplianceswithlocks:whenthechestlidisopen,
alwayssetthelockin“closed”positionandkeepthekeywell
awayfromsmallchildrentopreventaccidents.
Wheniceandfrostlayersformontheinnerwallsuptoacer-
tainthickness,theyactasaninsulationelementandpreventthe
coldnessbeingreleasedfromtheinnerwalls.
Theymustberemovedfromtimetotime.
Toremoveicefromtheinnerwalls,useaplasticorwoodscraper
withoutsharpedges.
Coverthefrozenfoodwithaclothwhichaidstocollectthescra-
pediceandenablesasimpleremoval.
Defrosting
Undernormalconditions(3to4openingsperday)thefreezer
must be defrosted once or twice a year (more often in other
cases).
Danger warning:Neveruseelectricalappliancestodefrostthe
chestfreezer,e.g.hairdryer,fanheater,ordeviceswithanaked
ame(e.g.candles).
Plasticintheinnercompartmentcanmeltandescapinggascan
beignitedbysparksornakedames.
Proceed as follows:
• Provideasuitablenon-metalliccontainer(plasticcontainer
orwash-basket).
• Makeabsolutelysurethatyouremovetheplugfromthe
powersocket.
• Dryyourhandsthoroughlytopreventskindamagebycon-
tactwithice(itisadvisabletousegloves).
• Removeallfrozenfoodfromthefreezer,rollitrmlyin
newspaper,putitintothecontainer,placethecontainerina
cool,dryroom.
• Coverupthecontainerallaroundwithathickblanket.
• Lifttheseparator(e)(notallmodelsareequipped)upwards
outoftheguide-railofthefreezer.
• Usethedivider(sofarasprovided)asadefrostingdishand
pushitonthesideunderthefreezer–wherethedefrosting
waterdrain-plugislocated.

• Pulltheplug(asfarasprovided)outofthefreezerbottom.
• Aspreviouslydescribed,scrapethethickesticecarefully
fromthefreezerinsideandputitintothekitchensink.for
defrosting.
• Ifnecessary,speedupdefrostingbyplacingalargepotof
warm(nottoohot)wateronthefreezerbottom.
• Infreezersnotprovidedwithadrain-plug,continuouslywipe
upthewaterwithasponge.
• Thoroughlycleantheinside.Rinseitwithamixtureofwarm
waterandvinegar,thereafterrinsewithclearwater.
• Wipethefreezerwithanabsorbentcloththoroughlydryand
allowtoairforabout3to4minutes.
• Replacethedrain-plug(ifprovided)
• Emptythedrydefrostingwaterdish(ifprovided)andslideit
asseparatorintotheguiderailsofthefreezer.
• Closethechestandplugitbackintothesocket.
• Nowrellthefrozenfood–theoldestitemsatthetop.To
preventfrostedfoodfromdefrosting,carryoutstepsfrom1
to17withinmax.twohours.
• Whentheredlampgoesoff,resetthetemperaturecontrol
toaasperthellingcapacitysuitablestoragetemperature.
Resolving faults on your own
Ifyoususpectanyfault,beforecontactingtheafter-salesservice
directlyorviayourdealer,makesureyouhaveobservedallin-
structionsandadviceinthisusermanual.
Repairsby the after-sales service,of faultsthathaveoccurred
becauseofnon-adherencetotheinformationandadvicegiven
inthismanualhavetobechargedtothecustomerandarenot
coveredbyyourdealer’sguarantee.
Attention
Thecompressor(alsoknownasmotor)mustnotoperateconti-
nuously.
Itiscontrolledbythethermostatwhichyousetwiththetempe-
raturecontrol.Itswitcheson automaticallywhen thesettem-
peratureinthestoragecompartmentexceedsandswitchesoff
automaticallywhenthecorrecttemperatureisreachedagain.
Noisecanbeheardineverycompressor–coolingsystemwhen
thecompressorisswitchedon.Thisnoiseisproducedwhenthe
motorinthecompressoroperatesandalsobyrefrigerantowing
inthecoolingsystemcircuit.
Thesenoisesarenormalanddonotindicateanyfunctionaltrou-
ble.
Inunheatedroomsandincoldweatherconditioncondensation
canbuildupontheouterwallsoftheappliance.Thisdoesnot
meantroubleanddisappearswhentheweatherbecomeswar-
mer.
