Client Requirements
The MobileLAN card is Wi-Fi-certified for
interoperability with other IEEE 802.11b HR wireless
LAN devices.
Hardware Requirements
• Available Type II or Type III PC card slot
• CD-ROM drive (to install software from CD)
• 5MB free disk space for the driver, the Intermec CORE application, and
the MobileLAN card 11 module
Software Requirements
• Windows®operating system (95/98/ME/NT4.0/2000) and Windows CD
Note: If your client is running Windows 95, the Windows 95 version
must be OSR 2 or higher and it must be running Internet Explorer 4.0 or
higher.
• Other CDs that support your client (e.g. IntranetWare Client for
Windows 95)
• PCMCIA revision 2.10-compliant card and socket services
Unpack the Box

Install the Software
1. Insert the MobileLAN card 11 CD into your client.
22. Verify the File Download dialog box appears.
3. Click Run this program from its current location and then click OK.
You may see a Security Warning message box. Click Yes to continue
the installation.
Or, click Save this program to disk and then click OK. Browse to a
directory where you want to save SETUP.EXE. You will need to run
SETUP.EXE to continue the installation.
4. Verify that the Installation Wizard starts. When the Welcome screen
appears, click Next.
The CD starts automatically and you will see the CD home page with
menu buttons. If you do not see this home page, from the Start menu
choose Run. In the Open field, type
X
:\INDEX.HTM, where Xis the
CD-ROM drive.

5. For a default installation, click Next three more times. The software is
copied to your client.
6. (Windows 95 only) When the Winsock2 Setup message box appears,
click OK.
7. When the Installation Complete screen appears, click Finish.
8. (Windows 95 only) Reboot the client.

Install the MobileLAN card 11 Driver
Note: These screens are from a client that is running Windows 98. If
your client is running Windows 95/ME/2000, the screens should look
similar. If your client is running Windows NT 4.0, follow the procedure
“Configuring the PC Card for Windows NT 4.0” in Chapter 2 in the
MobileLAN card 11 User’s Guide (Part No. 071789).
1. Insert the MobileLAN card 11 into your client.
3. Browse to the directory where the driver was installed, choose
CW10.SYS, and click OK. The default directory is c:\Program
Files\MobileLAN card 11\Driver.
4. Click OK twice. The Intermec MobileLAN card 11 Properties dialog
box appears.
5. Click OK. You will configure these properties later using the Intermec
CORE application and the MobileLAN card 11 module.
6. Verify that the Copying Files message box appears.

Windows automatically detects the PC card. The Found New
Hardware message box and then the Building Driver Information
Database message box appear.
2. When you see a message box stating, “Please insert the disk labeled
‘Intermec MobileLAN card 11 Driver and then click OK,’” click OK.
The New Hardware Found dialog box appears.
7. As the driver files are being copied to the appropriate locations, you
may be prompted to insert the Windows CD or other CDs that support
your client. Insert the CDs and click OK or click Browse and navigate
to the files.
Also, you may see Version Conflict dialog boxes. Usually, you should
click Yes to use the most recent files.
You may hear a beep when you have successfully installed the
MobileLAN card 11 driver.

Configure the PC Card’s TCP/IP Properties
1. Open the Control Panel and double-click the Network icon. The
Network dialog box appears.
If you do not see TCP/IP -> Intermec MobileLAN card 11, follow the
procedure “Verifying and Installing the PC Card’s Network Protocols”
in Chapter 2 in the MobileLAN card 11 User’s Guide.
Configure the Radio Parameters
• From the Start menu choose Programs, Intermec, and then MobileLAN
card 11. The Intermec CORE application with the MobileLAN card 11
module opens.
