Hoverwheel Overview
Congratulations on your purchase of the Hoverwheel! Inventist once again is leading the way when it
comes to innovation in the Rideable industry. A Hoverwheel is a self-contained drive module that uses
gyro-sensors, accelerometers and a motor to move you. Once you step on the Hoverwheel, being
able to move your feet independently opens up a lot of riding possibilities. Before you use your new
Hoverwheel, read through this entire manual so that you will get the most fun out of your new rideable.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS FOR SAFE USE
For your safety, READ THIS MANUAL IN ITS ENTIRETY, before you use the Hoverwheel.!
WARNING: Always inspect the Hoverwheel prior to use.
Properly inspecting and maintaining your product can reduce the risk
of injury. Always check the battery charge before using the
Hoverwheel. Do not ride the Hoverwheel when its battery is low, as
indicated by blinking red lights and a warning beep during operation.
The Hoverwheel may stop operating and cause you to fall.
WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET WHEN RIDING. Use
an approved bicycle or skateboard helmet that fits properly with the
chin strap in place and protects the back of your head. Local LAWS
may require riders of wheeled products to wear a helmet and other
protective gear. Never ride the Hoverwheel barefoot or in open toed
shoes or hight heels.
WARNING: Check local laws and regulations to see where
and how you may use your Hoverwheel legally. Follow all applicable
laws for vehicles and pedestrians.
WARNING: Avoid obstacles and slippery surfaces, which could
result in a loss of balance or traction and cause a fall. See the section
on Terrain for more guidelines.
WARNING: Do not exceed the maximum weight of 180 pounds
(80 kilograms)—including backpacks and other items that might be
carried. Exceeding the weight limit could injure the rider and damage
the Hoverwheel.
WARNING: The Hoverwheel should not be ridden
by young children. Use your judgment about whether a
child has the necessary coordination, strength and
maturity to use the Hoverwheel. Only children 13 years
old or older should be permitted to ride the Hoverwheel.
WARNING: Do not lift the Hoverwheel off the
ground when the unit is turned on. This will cause the
wheel to spin freely which could result in injury to yourself
or damage to things around you.
WARNING: Do not modify the Hoverwheel.
Modifications could interfere with operating the
Hoverwheel and could result in serious injury and/or
damage. Modifications void the Hoverwheel’s Limited
Warranty.
WARNING: Since the Hoverwheel balances by
accelerating in response to your leaning forward, if you
lean too far forward too quickly, the motor will not be able
to catch up with you and you may fall. The Hoverwheel
will tilt backward at the maximum speed. DO NOT
attempt to accelerate further or you will fall.
WARNING: Never drink and drive. This goes for the
Hoverwheel as well.

1. Plug one end of the power cord into the Hoverwheel. Plug the other end into a grounded AC outlet. The red
charging light on the charger unit will turn on.
2. The charger may take up to 2 hours to complete its charge. The red light on the charger will turn green once it is
finished.
IMPORTANT: If you are not regularly using your Hoverwheel, you should fully recharge the battery at least every
sixty (60) days. If the battery power drops too low, you may not be able to recharge it.
Power Level Indicators
Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator lights will be green when you turn the unit on. In the standby mode,
this is what the lights on the Hoverwheel mean:
•All green lights: The Hoverwheel is at full power
•All yellow lights: Power is less than 30%
•All red lights: the power is less than 10% and the unit must be charged before it can be ridden again.
NOTE: When the battery power is reduced to less than 30%, the maximum speed level will gradually decrease.
Getting Started
Your Hoverwheel comes packaged in a high quality corrugated cardboard box for its protection. Please keep this box in
case you need to send the Hoverwheel back for service or repairs. If you use another box, Inventist will not be
responsible for any damage caused during shipping. Also, you will be charged for a new box to ship the Hoverwheel back
to you.
Inside the box you will find: The Hoverwheel, battery charger and power cord, the User's Guide and Manual.
After unpacking your Hoverwheel for the first time, follow all the steps below before you start riding.
Charging the Battery
Your Hoverwheel comes with a built-in lithium-ion battery pack. Before you use the Hoverwheel for the first time, you

Riding Guidelines
After unpacking your Hoverwheel for the first time, follow all the guidelines found in the next few pages before you start riding.
•Learn to ride the Hoverwheel in a large, flat, safe area free from all forms of traffic.
•Keep your posture upright but relaxed, and your foot centered on the platform.
•Be alert. Scan both far ahead and in front of you — your eyes are your best tool for safely avoiding obstacles
and slippery surfaces.
•Hold your arms comfortably at your side.
•Do not lock your knees.
•Start at a slow and comfortable pace. Never aggressively accelerate or lunge forward.
Preparation!
1. Always wear an appropriate safety helmet and other protective gear.
2. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Never ride the Hoverwheel barefoot or in open toed shoes or high heels.
3. Make sure the battery is charged.
Riding Form
15!
•Be careful and considerate of others.
•Always ride under control at a speed that is safe for you and those around you.
•Always be prepared to stop.
•Respect pedestrians by always yielding the right of way.
•Avoid startling pedestrians. When approaching from behind, announce yourself and slow down to walking speed
when passing.
•In heavy pedestrian traffic, slow down and proceed at a walking speed. Pass only if there is ample space to do
so safely. Do not weave in and out of pedestrian traffic.

5 Steps to Riding Your Hoverwheel
Once you have charged the battery, follow these five easy steps:
"1. Grab the handle of the
Solowheel and set it on the ground
vertically and turn the power on.
The green light on top of the unit
will light up. The Solowheel can face
either direction. "
"2. Unfold the foot platforms and
press them into the down position.
"
"3. Put one foot on one platform
and stand up straight. Shifting your
weight forward, lightly push off the
ground with the other foot and
immediately place it on the other
platform so that you straddle the
Solowheel, squeezing the pads
between your lower legs. Keep your
hips under you; do not bend over at
the waist. "
"4. Shift your body weight
gradually forward to pick up speed.
Do not aggressively accelerate or
lunge forward. "
"5. Shift your body weight
backward to slow down or stop. "
"6. To turn, lean the wheel in the
direction you want to go. "
"7. IMPORTANT: Twist your feet
right and left for balance and
steering. This is similar to
maneuvering the front wheel of a
bicycle. (Attempting to balance by
leaning and tilting is not effective.)
"
"8. Whe you are ready to get off,
slow down, stop and step off with
one foot. Keep the Solowheel
steady as you turn the unit "
1. Set the Hoverwheel on the ground vertically and turn the power on. The unit will beep and the green lights will light
up. The unit is now in the stand by mode. The Hoverwheel can face either direction.
2. Put your foot on the platform, keeping your foot level, and stand up straight. Your weight will trigger the self-
balancing system to engage and the green lights will turn white.
3. Shift your body weight gradually forward to pick up speed. Do not aggressively accelerate or lunge forward.
4. Shift your body weight backward to slow down or stop. If you continue to lean back, you will be able to travel
backward.
5. When you are ready to get off, slow down, stop and step off backward. Turn the unit off. If you do not turn the unit
off, the Hoverwheel will stay on for 5 minutes allowing you to step on and go again without having to engage the
on/off switch. It will automatically shut off after 5 minutes.
•If the Hoverwheel tips over, it will automatically shut off. Push the power button on again to restart.
•Always check the battery lights prior to getting on the Hoverwheel to make sure it is on and sufficiently charged.
•Do not ride the Hoverwheel when its battery is low, as indicated by blinking red lights and a warning beep during
operation.
•Remember to keep your body relaxed through your back and legs. Stand naturally. Do not lock your knees.
•Avoid riding across steep slopes.
•Lean uphill when riding across gentle slopes.
•Avoid turning on slopes or ramps.
•Stay centered on narrow sidewalks or elevated paths.
•Practice controlled stopping. Never aggressively lunge forward or backward.
IMPORTANT: The top speed of the Hoverwheel is 7 miles per hour (12 kph). When you approach the maximum
speed, the unit will beep and try to prevent you from accelerating further. It will tilt back in order to shift your weight
backward. You may feel that you are being 'pushed' back or that you cannot make it go any faster. Do not continue
leaning or bending forward to try and increase your speed or you will fall. Beyond the speed limit, the motor
does not have enough power to catch you. Lean back and slow down.
Hoverwheel Tips

Terrain and Avoiding Hazards, Slips and Trips
The Hoverwheel is intended for use on flat, smooth surfaces. However, to prevent loss of traction, you must always
be careful when riding and learn to identify and avoid slippery and wet surfaces, loose materials, slopes, potholes
and other obstacles.
Stop and step off the Hoverwheel over unsafe surfaces or terrain.
The Hoverwheel wheels must be able to grip the ground for you to stay upright. Slips occur when the Hoverwheel
loses traction, potentially causing loss of control and a fall. Abrupt maneuvers and riding over slippery surfaces,
bumps, and loose objects and materials, may cause the Hoverwheel to lose traction.
•Keep alert.
•Avoid riding on slippery surfaces such as wet floors, or any other surface that might cause slipping.
•Never jump on or off the Hoverwheel with both feet.
•Avoid abrupt maneuvers such as fast starting or stopping.
•Avoid riding over loose objects or materials such as litter, gravel, sand or rocks.
•Do not ride up or down inclines of more than 9 degrees.
•Do not ride across sloped ground.
•Avoid sharp turns.
•Avoid holes, grooves, cracks, steps and other obstacles.
•Avoid riding over any surface where the platform may strike an object.
•Use caution when riding over any change in terrain.
•Do not attempt to ride over bumps such as thresholds.
•Do not ride in the dark when visibility is poor and you cannot see your surroundings clearly.
•Stay centered on narrow or elevated paths, staying clear of the edge.
•Do not step off forward when you are ready to get off – always step backward.
•Do not step or jump off the Hoverwheel when it is moving. Always come to a complete stop before getting off.

Balance Calibration
Calibration is only required if the foot platform is not horizontal when the unit is balancing.
Place the Hoverwheel on the ground. Lay a level on top of the unit (you can use a phone app) and ensure that
the unit is level. Press and hold the power button. After 3 seconds, the unit will beep and the LED lights will flash
blue indicating the start of calibration. Keep the unit upright with the foot platform horizontal. Release the power
button to complete calibration.
