You will require :
•A small Philips head screwdriver.
Installation Instructions
Please note: Installing the chime extender on or near metal structures or
reinforced PVC structures may reduce the transmission range. It is preferred
to be adjacent to your door chime.
Install the Plug-in Chime (PC)
Plug the Plug-in Chime into any electrical outlet within the house. The chime
must be within transmission range of the chime extender. The chime will play
all of the tunes that are available when it is first powered up.
Install Batteries in Chime Extender (CE)
Remove the front cover of the Chime Extender by
pressing your index finger on the cover, then slide
the cover down as shown (figure 1) to expose the
battery compartment. Install 3 AAA batteries
into the battery compartment. Make sure that the
batteries are oriented properly. Close the battery
cover.
Program the Plug-in Chime (PC)
Press the pushbutton as shown (figure 2), the PC
will respond with a chime. This indicates that the
chime extender has been programmed to the Plug-in
Chime.
Install the Chime Extender (CE)
Place the chime extender on top of the existing
door chime. Activate the existing door chime.
If the Plug-in Chime sounds, proceed to
mounting. If the Plug-in Chime does not sound
increase the microphone sensitivity by turning
the adjustment knob clockwise (Figure 3) and
try again while observing the red LED. The
LED will light when the chime extender is
picking up the chime rings. (If the LED lights,
but the Plug-in Chime does not sound try moving
the Plug-in Chime closer to the chime extender.)
An alternative mounting is to pull out the
microphone from the Chime Extender (figure 4)
and attach it to the existing door chime cover.
Note: The Extender is more sensitive when the
battery cover is closed.
a. Mount the chime extender with Tape
Install the battery cover. Peel the protective sheet from
one side of the double-sided tapes, and apply the tapes
on the rear of the CE (Figure 5a).
b. Mount the chime extender with Screws
Remove the batteries, drill 2 mounting holes (Figures 5b).
Mount the extender with the 2 screws provided, reinstall the
batteries and close the battery cover.
Sound Selection
Press Button A (Figure 6) until you hear the desired 8 Note, 2 note,
or 1 Note chime. NOTE: You can change the chime at any time by pressing
this button.
The volume adjustment knob C (Figure 6) enables you to adjust the volume
of your chime at any time.

To Reset Chime Programming
While plugged into an electrical outlet, press and hold button A and B (Fig. 6)
until the chime sounds. The chime will play all of the chimes available
indicating that previous programs have been erased. Return to the Program
the Plug-in Chime and repeat this section.

Plug-in Chime doesn't sound when pushbutton is pressed.
Check that the batteries have been inserted correctly. Check the polarity
engraved on the battery compartment.
Extender may be positioned out of range of the door chime.
Move the plug in door chime closer to the Extender.
A metallic object may be blocking the signal to the plug-in door chime from
the Extender position. Do not mount the Transmitter on metal or near metal
surface as it reduces the transmission range.
Battery in the Extender may need replacing.
The Extender LED will flash 5 times when the battery needs replacing. See
instruction for installing the Battery.
Note: In cold conditions, poor location or environment, operating at maximum
range it is advisable to replace the battery more frequently (i.e. every 12-18 months)
to maintain optimum performance.
Your Extender and Chime haven’t been programmed. Reset the automatic
programming of your chime and Extender by Pressing and holding down chime
selection buttons A and B (Figure 6) for 5 seconds. The chime will sound all of
the sounds available indicating the programming has been erased. Program the
Extender following the installation instructions.
Adjust the sensitivity control counter-clockwise to reduce sensitivity. (Fig 3)

Instrucciones de Instalacíon
Advertencia: La instalación del timbre extensor en estructuras metálicas,
cerca de éstas o en estructuras reforzadas con PVC podría reducir el alcance
de transmisión. Es preferible que esté contiguo a su timbre de la puerta.
Instale el Timbre Conectable (TC)
Enchufe el Timbre Conectable a cualquier toma de corriente de la casa. El
timbre debe estar dentro del alcance de transmisión del timbre extensor. El
timbre emitirá todas las melodías disponibles cuando se enchufa
por primera vez.
Instale las Baterías en el Timbre Extensor
(TE)
Quite la tapa frontal del Timbre Extensor
presionando con el dedo índice en la tapa, luego
deslice la tapa hacia abajo como se muestra
(ilustración 1) para mostrar el compartimiento de
la batería. Instale 3 baterías AAA en el
compartimiento de la batería. Asegúrese de que
las baterías estén orientadas correctamente. Cierre
la tapa de la batería.
Programe el Timbre Conectable (TC)
Presione el pulsador como se muestra (ilustración
2), el TC responderá con un timbre. Esto indica que
el timbre extensor se ha programado al Timbre
Conectable.
Instale el Timbre Extensor (TE)
Ponga el timbre extensor encima del timbre de la
puerta existente. Active el timbre de la puerta
existente. Si el Timbre Conectable suena,
proceda a montarlo. Si el Timbre Conectable
no suena aumente la sensibilidad del micrófono
girando el botón de ajuste en dirección de las
agujas del reloj (Ilustración 3) e inténtelo de
nuevo mientras observa la luz roja LED. La luz
LED se encenderá cuando el timbre extensor
esté sintonizando los tonos del timbre. (Si la luz
LED se enciende, pero el Timbre conectable no
suena intente acercar el Timbre Conectable al
timbre extensor.)
Una forma alternativa de montaje es sacar el
micrófono del Timbre Extensor (ilustración 4) y
ponerlo en la tapa del timbre de puerta existente.
Nota: El Extensor es más sensible cuando la
tapa de la batería está cerrada.
a. Monte el timbre extensor con Adhesivo
Instale la tapa de la batería. Quite la lámina protectora
de las caras de los adhesivos, y póngalos en la parte
de atrás del TE (Ilustración 5a).
b. Monte el timbre extensor con Tornillos
Quite las baterías, taladre 2 agujeros (Ilustración 5b).
Monte el extensor con los 2 tornillos que se proporcionan,
vuelva a poner las baterías y cierre la tapa de las baterías.
Selección de Sonido
Presione el Botón A (Ilustración 6) hasta que se oiga el timbre deseado
Nota 2, o Nota 1, NOTA : Puede cambiar el timbre en cualquier momento
presionando este botón.
El botón C de ajuste de volumen (Ilustración 6) le posibilita ajustar el
volumen del timbre en cualquier momento.

Para volver a Programar el Timbre
Mientras esté conectado a una toma de corriente, mantenga presionado el
botón A y B (Ilustración 6) hasta que suene el timbre. El timbre emitirá todas
las melodías disponibles indicando que los programas anteriores se han
borrado. Vuelva a la sección Programe el Timbre Conectable y repítala.

El Timbre Conectable no suena cuando se presiona el pulsador
Compruebe que las baterías están puestas correctamente. Compruebe la
polaridad grabada en el compartimiento de la batería.
Extensor puede estar situado fuera del alcance del timbre de la puerta.
Coloque el timbre conectable más cerca del Extensor.
Un objeto metálico podría estar bloqueando la señal al timbre conectable desde
la posición del Extensor. No monte el Transmisor en superficies metálicas o cerca
de ellas ya que se reduce el alcance de transmisión.
La batería en el Extensor se tiene que cambiar.
La luz LED del Extensor parpadeará 5 veces cuando sea necesario cambiar las
baterías. Vea las instrucciones para Instalación de Batería.
Nota: En condiciones de frío, ubicación o entorno malo, funcionando con máximo
alcance se aconseja cambiar la baterías más frecuentemente (cada 12-18 meses) para
mantener un funcionamiento óptimo.

Ajuste el control de sensibilidad en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj para reducir
sensibilidad. (Ilustración 3)

La obligación de IQ America de reparar o reemplazar, siguiendo su criterio, deberá ser

Su Extensor y Timbre no se han programado. Vuelva a poner la programación
automática de su timbre y Extensor manteniendo Presionandos los botones A y B
(Ilustración 6) durante 5 segundos. El timbre emitirá todos los sonidos disponibles
indicando que se ha borrado el programa. Programe el Extensor siguiendo las
instrucciones de instalación.
