Wireless Range Extender
INSTALLATION & USER GUIDE
INTRODUCTION
Halio Range Extender makes it easy to expand coverage of
the Halio wireless mesh network and ensure reliable
communication between Halio devices. It provides flexible
options for placement supplying power. Once joined to the
Halio wireless network, the Range Extender automatically
repeats wireless messages between Halio devices.
INSTALLATION WARNINGS
•The Range Extender is not weather proof and should not
be located outside or where temperature changes and
humidity may allow condensation in the enclosure.
•To be installed and used in accordance with national and
local electrical codes and regulations.
•Use only Halio approved power supplies (12 – 48VDC).
•Ensure wiring connections are made only when power is
off.
•Installation and maintenance of this unit should be done
only by a certified Halio installer.
INSTALL WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER
To install and configure the Range Extender:
1. Select the best installation location in between the Halio
System Gateway and other Halio client devices that need
to communicate with the Gateway.
2. Wireless Range Extender is designed for optimal
performance when ceiling mounted but can also be
installed on a wall.
3. Route the power supply wires through a hole in the
ceiling or wall to the back of the Range Extender
4. Rotate the top cover slightly to the left and remove it to
access the mounting holes.
5. Insert the positive and negative wires from the DC power
supply into the + and – wiring terminals on the back of
the Range Extender
6. Use screws and anchors to secure Range Extender to the
ceiling or wall.
7. Re-attach cover plate and rotate to the right until secure.
8. Plug in the power supply to power on the Range
Extender. LED’s will blink to confirm.
COMMISSION WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER
Wireless Range Extender must be joined to the Halio wireless
mesh network to communicate with other Halio devices.
To commission the Range Extender:
1. Set the Halio System Gateway into join mode by pressing
the network button on the right side of the enclosure.
2. Press the network button on the left side of the Wireless
Range Extender to start the joining process
3. The Network LED will begin to blink orange while
searching for a Halio wireless network to join
4. Once a network is found, the LED will change to green to
indicate it has successfully joined. It will blink red briefly
to indicate if joining the network failed.
USING WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER
Once joined to the Halio wireless mesh network, the Wireless
Range Extender will operate without user interaction,
