TxCell™ Scanning Slit Lamp Adapter (SSLA) –Installation for IRIDEX 990 Slit Lamp
(Haag-Streit style)

Install SSLA before connecting SSLA cables. Always
handle cables with care.
1. Move the slit lamp as far away as possible from
the headrest and lock it into position.
2. Gently rotate the illumination tower 90° to the
left (A); then rotate the lamp housing to the
right to align with 20° (B) as shown on the slit
rotation scale in figure (C). This will allow
enough clearance for installation of the SSLA.
3. Install tonometer mount on the magnification
changer housing, and tighten screw to secure.
4. Release the eye-safety filter plate from its
storage detent position.

5. Rotate the lateral adjust lever labeled <X>
clockwise to its furthest position as shown.
6. Loosen the SSLA locking thumb screw.
7. Install SSLA on post. Make sure SSLA is fully
installed on large and small diameter posts.
8. Tighten thumb screw.
9. Rotate the illumination tower back to its
center position as shown in figure (A).
10. Rotate the lamp housing back to 0° as
shown in figure B.
11. Rotate <X> lever back to its mid-travel
position as shown in figure B.
12. Install cables. Video and written instructions
