INTENDED USE
This Ironton™ 5–32V DC compact camera system is an easy way to stay safe and prevent
accidents while backing your vehicle. The easy-to-install, water-resistant camera mounts on
your vehicle bumper to offer a 120° viewing angle of what's behind you. The plug and play
3 1⁄2" color monitor sits inside the vehicle and features 320RGB x 240 resolution for a clear
view. The sensor range covers 0–30 ft. An AV signal automatically detects if the power is on or
off and automatically switches on when reversing. 4:3 display format and 350:1 contrast.

• Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force small equipment to do the work of
larger industrial equipment. There are certain applications for which this equipment was
designed. It will do the job better and more safely at the capacity for which it was intended.
Do not modify this equipment, and do not use this equipment for a purpose for which it was
not intended.

Check for damaged parts. Before using this product, carefully check that it will operate
properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts and any other conditions
that may affect the operation of this product. Replace damaged or worn parts immediately.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent tripping, falling,
back injury, etc.
• DO NOT use the equipment when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medica-
tion. A moment of inattention while operating this equipment may result in serious personal
injury.
SPECIFIC OPERATION WARNINGS
1. Don’t disassemble the unit.
2. The monitor has a glass screen, which could break if dropped. Use care during the installa-
tion process.
3. Don’t use unit super-hot or super cooling environment. The monitor should be placed away
from direct sun light, heat, water or moisture.
4. Make sure the monitor stand is firmly attached to a secure location; in most cases the
monitor can be installed on the vehicle dashboard.
5. Please take special care to the wire positioning while installing the rear view system in order
to avoid wiring damage.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. The rear view system is intended to be used when the vehicle is in reverse.
2. Do not install the monitor where it may obstruct the driver’s view or obstruct an airbag
device.
3. Do not attempt to service this product on your own. If the system has any problem, please
disconnect power to the unit and contact customer service.
4. Dropping the unit may cause possible mechanical failure.

Wiring Guide:
To automatically have the camera and monitor turn ON when vehicle activates, simply connect
the red power line 12V+ to ignition power which can be an accessory switch/fuse line and the
black power line to ground.
To automatically have the camera and Monitor turn ON only when vehicle goes in reverse,
simply connect the Camera's red power line 12V+ to the vehicles reverse tail lights and the
black wire to Ground. Connect RCA video cable to Camera's side and Monitor's Side and then
attach Monitor's Red power line 12V+ to reverse gear which can be an accessory switch/fuse
line and the black wire to ground.
Mount the camera adjust the lens of the camera to its position. Connect power cord 12+ (red)
and 12V- (black) to your vehicles DC12V power system. Connect the video output (yellow) of the
camera to the display in your vehicle. Monitor accepts 2 video inputs (white and yellow cables)
to alternate between inputs cut power to either input. White RCA cable (plug) is also a "VIDEO
IN" cable.
BACK-UP CAMERA INSTALLATION
1. Locate a good place to mount the camera. Make sure that the camera's field of vision is free
of obstructions (bumpers, hitches, etc.). The camera should be positioned as close to the
center of the vehicle as possible.
2. Secure the camera to the vehicle. The backup camera is designed to be mounted to the
license plate frame by mounting hardware (NOT INCLUDED).
3. Locate the vehicle's reverse light wire. This can easily be found at the reverse light bulb or at
the trailer harness if your car is equipped with one. Test this wire with a multi-meter. It should
have 0 volts when the car is in all gears, and 12 volts in reverse.
4. Solder together the camera's power wire to the vehicle's reverse wire. Seal the connection
with electrical tape. Find a clean metal surface to ground to, and attach the camera's ground
wire with the cordless drill and a self tapping screw.
5. Run the camera's signal wire to the monitor. Test by putting the vehicle in reverse and
watching for a video signal.
