Important: Installation of automotive
stereo components can require extenwe
experience in performing a variety of
mechanrcal and electrical procedures.
Although these instructions explain in a
general sense how to mstall GT Serves
loudspeakers. they may not show the
exact installation methods for your par-
ticular vehicle. If you feel you lack the
necessary tools or experience, ask your
authorwed JSL car-audio dealer about
professional mstallation options.
Installation Warnings and Tips
eAlways wear protective eyewear when
using tools.
0Turn off all audio systems and other
electrical dewces before you start.
Disconnect the (-1 negative lead from
your vehicle’s battery.
a Keep speakers m therr package until
final installation. When mowng a
speaker. always rest it with the cone
or dome faong up. Never use force to
rnstall any speaker.
* Check clearances on both sides of a
plarwed mounting surface before drilling
any holes or installing any screws.
Remember that the screws can extend
behmd the surface.
*At the mstallation sites, locate and
make a note of all fuel lines, hydraulic
brake lines, vacuum lines and electrical
wmng. Use extreme caution when
cuttmg or drilling in and around
these areas.
Caution: In some cars, fuel tanks may be
located directly beneath the rear deck.
Check for adequate speaker basket clear-
ance before corwdering th!s location!
eBefore drilling or cutting holes, use a
utility knife to remove unwanted fabric or
vinyl to keep material from snaggmg I” a
drill bit or saw.
*For door installations, checkthe clear-
ance with the windows in both closed
and open positions, and verify that a
mounted speaker will not interfere with
the window crank or power-wmdow
mechanwn.
0If mounting speakers elsewhere, check
for clearance around rear-deck towon
bars, glove box or other structural
eleme”ts.
0Do not mount speakers where they will
get wet.

Mounting the GT0602c and GT0603c woofers as shown I” Figures 4a, Lb,
4c and 4d. The GT0602c and GT0603c use JR’s patented Intermount 11””
mounting system. Intermount II prow&s for easy installation of these
speakers I” many standard and nonstandard locations that will
accommodate a 6-112” speaker.
Using Intermount II_ I” Amencan and Japanese cars wth
openings for 6-112” speakers as shown in Figures 4a
and 4b.

Important: When usmg the steel mounting rings, you must
use the sheet-metal screwy with undersized heads that are
included in the hardware pack and make sure that the rxng
IS mounted to a completely flat surface.

Mote: If you are mounting the speakers behInd the factory
door panel or grille, omit the grills and trim rtng. Place the
U-shaped clips over the speaker’s outsldc flange, align the
hole anthe clip with the notch I” the speaker’s basket and
msert the Screw through the hole VTthe clip.
