How to Install and Operate the
KVFM 1 FM Modulator
Introduction
Thank you for choosing a JENSEN product.lt’s a good idea to read
a// of the instructions before you begin the installation.
Warranty Service
If you ever need to return the unit for any reason, or if it should ever
require service you will need to have the original dated receipt.
Overview
The KVFMI modulator is convenient for interfacing components into an
audio system when an auxiliary input is not available. The KVFMI allows
you to listen to an external source through your FM tuner.
FCC Statement
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules and regulations.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
I. This device may not cause harmful interference, and
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference
that may cause undesired operation.

installation
The KVFMI will accept a variety of signal sources utilizing an RCA type connector such
as: Mobile VCRlDVD player, MP3 player, cassette player, game station, etc.
Wiring
Red

lZVDC, accessory/ignition power source (Do not connect
to a constant power source)
Chassis ground, connect to a clean unpainted metal
surface.
Male antenna connector Connect to head unit.
Female antenna connector Connect to car antenna lead
Operation
Level Contfvl
The lever Lontrol is preset during man;,,,.,...,; and 3uality Control.
The level control is used to adjust the relative level between the FM tuner and the
modulator. Use a small flat-head jewelers screwdriver to adjust the output level of the
modulator to the FM tuner.
Note
Certain model vehicles may require the use of “antenna adapters.” If your vehicle antenna
does not match the type of connectors on the KVFM 7 DO NOT cut them off. Antenna
adapters can be purchased at your local installation shop or auto parts store.
Setting FM Frequencies
One of eight FM frequencies can be selected for your listening region. Select an FM
frequency in your area that is not being used.
Adjust modular frequency by setting the DIP-switches according to the following chart:
87.7 MHz 87.9 MHz 88.1 MHz 88.3 MHz

Pin 1 is not used.

Limited 90 Day Warranty-
USA and Canada
Length of Warranty. This warranty from Recoton Mobile Electronics shall be in effect for a period of 90 days from
the date of the first consumer purchase.
Persons Protected. This warranty will be enforceable by the original owner and any subsequent owners during
the warranty period so long as proof of date of purchase from an authorized Jensen dealer is presented whenever
warranty serace is required.
What is Covered. Except as otherwise specified below, th!s warranty covers all defects in material and
workmanship in this product The following are not covered: damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse,
neglect, product modification, improper installatton, incorrect line voltage. unauthorized repair or failure to follow
mstructions supplied with the product; damage occuri’-: g sh’>ment (claims must be presented to the ii ,I#,,
am, !lrcduct purchased outside USA or Canada. or on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or
removed
How You Can Get Service.
U.S. Purchasers. Please telephone Jensen at I-800-323-4815. We will either inform you of the name and address
of an authorized Jensen repair station which will service the product or will advise you to send the product to a
factory service center.
Canadian Purchasers The product should be returned to the Jensen dealer from whom it was purchased and
such dealer either will service or arrange for service of the product.
If shipment of the product is required, it should be packed securely The original dated bill of sale must always be
included with the product as proof of warranty coverage.
What We Will Pay For. We wll pay for all labor and material expenses required to repair the product, but you must
pay any labor costs for the removal and/or installation of the product. If the product is shipped for warranty service,
you must prepay the initial shlpplng charges, but Jensen will pay the return shipping charges if the product is
returned to an address inside the USA or Canada.
Exclusion of Certain Damages. Jensen s liability is llmited to the repair or replacement, at our option, of any
defectlve product and shall not include incidental or consequential economic damages of any kind.
Some states and/or provmces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and/or do not allow the
exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations and exclusions may not
apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state and
province to province.
