INTRODUCTION
General
To obtain optimum operation of your fireplace in complete safety, we recommend having it
installed by a specialist who will do the work professionally. The installer has the
responsibility to explain the use of the device to the user and to give them this manual.
The responsibility of Jidé relates to the supply of the appliance. The installation is the
responsibility of the owner who must have it done according to the requirements of this
notice, and in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards of the different
countries governing the installation, insulation and connection of closed gas-burning
fireplaces, in new and old constructions, as well as smoke flues. The appliance may not be
modified as it could present a real danger and will invalidate the warranty.
A list of our dealers-installers is available on our site www.jide.be/en.
Before using your fireplace for the first time and in order to guarantee its good usage and
operation over time, we suggest you carefully read these instructions for use in order to
familiarise yourself with its various functions and characteristics.
Before starting your first fire, please ensure that no material required for the installation is
in the fireplace. There is a paint spray for eventual retouching. Attention: before using the
Carino, make sure to get the spray out and to keep it away with a minimum distance of
2 m.
The paint has not been cured and will consequently harden when used for the first time,
causing the release of smoke and odours. We advise you to make a very strong fire during at
least 1 hour and then ventilate the room well.

Important
Carino gas inserts are closed-hearth connected with a concentric duct. This concentric duct is made
of two pipes, the outside one brings the combustion air and the inside one expel the combustion
products. There is no direct contact between the heating chamber and the room where the carino
is placed.
-This insert can never be used without its door, with damaged components or without
connection to a concentric pipe giving to the outside of the building.
-This insert works with natural gas. It is forbidden to use any other kind of combustible.
-Combustion settings are settled in factory and are sealed. Any handling on the setting pieces
is forbidden and will lead to cancellation of the warranty. For every questions concerning this,
please contact your installer or the manufacturer.
-Internal decoration kit is made of small pieces of vermiculite and of 8 ceramic logs. The
placement of this kit is explained in this manual and must be carefully respected in order to
avoid any operating problem.
-It is strictly forbidden to use other decorations than the ones supplied with the device, under
penalty of dysfunction of the insert and cancellation of the warranty.
-It is strictly forbidden to introduce foreign object inside the device.
-The appliance in function has some burning areas (door, glass, cadre, pipes …). Do not touch
these areas during working and just after extinction of the device, in order to avoid any serious
injury. Hold children, elderly and disabled persons off to avoid contact with the appliance. If

USER NOTICE
Working and use
The insert is working with a RF remote control which turns on and off the device, settles manually
the flames level and set thermostatic or programming mode. You can also turn off one burner with
this remote control and work with only one.
For a good working of the remote control, you must keep a distance of maximum 5 meters from the
insert without any obstacle. If you use thermostatic or programming mode, keep the remote control
in an appropriate place in order to get the desired temperature. If the remote is too close of the
device, it will start pilot mode too quickly, if the remote is too far it will react too late.
The insert also has a convection air ventilation system which propels warm air in the room by the
top of the glass of by pipes connected to the fireplace.
The speed of the fans is adjustable with a speed controller. The fans start and stop automatically
thanks to a temperature sensor (airstat) placed in the convection body.
Caution: the insert can never be used without ventilation!
If there is a problem with the remote control, it is possible to turn on and off the appliance manually,
thanks to control elements places on the bloc valve.

Site preparation
Dimensions of the recess and aeration around the fireplace
The recess, i.e. the volume around the fireplace, has to contain the
appliance while providing an additional space of at least 5 mm (on the left
and right sides, and above the fireplace) in order to accommodate
expansion. Place the decorating frame and ensure a good airflow between
the insert and the housing (see plan in attachment at the end of the
manual). There must be no masonry against the fireplace.
Attention! The back offset of the concentric elbow is 3,5 cm.
Insulation of the fireplace
The materials used must be non-inflammable. Provide high-temperature insulation around the
fireplace to protect certain materials. In this case we advise protecting the back, sides and top of the
appliance. If no insulation has been provided, it is recommended keeping a distance of 5 cm from
inflammable materials around the corner and 10 cm from the outlet nozzle, and to ventilate the
recess.
Your installer can advise you regarding the protection to be provided.

Fireplace base
We recommend placing the appliance on a solid flat surface with sufficient strength to support the
weight of the fireplace and the chimney flue.
Radiation from the fireplace
The fireplace emits heat by radiation through the window and by air convection. It is thus essential
to provide non-inflammable materials in the distribution zone. It is also forbidden to place objects
in a beam of 80 cm in front of the device.
Inlets
-Gas
The gas inlet must be done by a certified installer and according to standards in force.
Pipe diameter must be sufficient to grant nominal working pressure of the insert at the inlet
(G20/20mbar, G25/20-25mbar). It is mandatory to install a block valve on gas inlet, close to the
device and easily accessible.
Clean the pipe previously (traces of filings …) before connecting to the fireplace. This connection is
done with a flexible of minimum 500 mm length in order to allow the electronic drawer to go out of
the device. Connection can be done on the right or left side or in the centre of the fireplace (back or
below). Choose your connection and cut the previously drilled junction of the convection chamber.
-Electricity
Provide a power supply for convection ventilation in the recess or near the insert (230 VAC).
Preparation of the chimney duct
The insert is a type C (sealed) device and must be connected with a concentric pipe whose terminal
go to the outside of the building.
Rigid conduits and connection are from EONTOP brand, model US10 or JEREMIAS (Detandt-Simon)
TWIN K-100. No other brand or model can be used.
