Safety instructions
C nnecti n and perati n
■ These perating and installati n instructi ns must be discussed with the
users and then handed ver t them.
■ The appliance sh uld nly be used with natural gas r liquefied petr leum
gas (butane/pr pane r a mixture f the tw ).
■ The respective inlet pressures f r vari us Eur pean c untries are indicated
in the chart “Table f permitted gas types and gas pressures” (see p. 24).
■ Only pressure regulat rs auth rized in the individual c untries may be used.
■ The appliance has been c nstructed f r a mains supply f 220-240 V /
50 Hz. P wer c nsumpti n is less than 20 watts.
■ Bef re c nnecting the appliance it must be checked whether the l cal supply
c nditi ns (type f gas and gas pressure) and the settings f the appliance
c rresp nd.
■ All settings f r the appliance are stated in this user guide. They are
indicated n the appliance by an indicating label ( r n the identificati n
plate).
■ If a setting is changed, this must be clearly indicated.
■ This appliance sh uld n t be c nnected t a pipe f r extracting c mbusti n
pr ducts. It must be installed and c nnected in acc rdance with the
applicable c nditi ns f installati n.
■ The use f a gas c ker causes heat and humidity t f rm in the r m
where the c ker is installed. F r this reas n it sh uld always be ensured
that the kitchen is well ventilated.
■ C nnecti n t the gas mains, initial perati n and adjusting and c nverting
the appliance sh uld nly be carried ut by a qualified fitter. The statut ry
regulati ns and the c nnecti n c nditi ns f the l cal gas b ard must be
bserved in every detail.
■ The appliance sh uld nly be serviced and repaired by a qualified technician
in acc rdance with the applicable safety regulati ns. Always ensure t
disc nnect the appliance fr m the energy supply when repairs are being
carried ut n facilities f r directing the fl w f gas. F r y ur wn safety,
d n t all w any ne ther than a qualified service technician t install,
service r repair this appliance.
■ If the appliance is run n liquefied petr leum gas (butane r pr pane gas),
all c nnecti ns between the b ttle and the appliance must be abs lutely
tight and leak-pr f.
■ D n t wedge in freely laid supply h ses r place them n the h b.
■ C ker h ds r wall cupb ards ab ve the h b must be fitted at a minimum
distance f 650 mm.
■ D n t use a screw driver t lever the appliance ut f the pening - This
will damage the frame f appliance. When rem ving the appliance press it
fr m the b tt m ut f the pening.
■ We rec mmend that the appliance is serviced at regular intervals by a
qualified fitter (maintenance agreement).

■ D n t switch the appliance n until the installing technician has explained
the appliance t y u.
■ In additi n y u sh uld carefully read the inf rmati n in these perating and
installati n instructi ns. Here y u will find imp rtant n tes c ncerning safety
and h w t use the appliance. Y u sh uld remember that any damage due
t impr per perati n d es n t fall within the sc pe f the guarantee.

p ts and w k pans which are sufficiently sturdy.
■ C kware which is in use (p ts, saucepans, pans and w k pans) may n t

When using large, shall w c kware, h t exhaust gas will fl w ut fr m
under the base f the c kware and may damage the w rkt p!
■ P ts and pans will bec me h t during use. Always keep children away!
■ D n t leave any c mbustible bjects near the c king z nes as they may
catch alight.
■ Overheated fats and ils may sp ntane usly ignite. F d inv lving the use
f fats and ils, e.g. chips, may nly be c ked under supervisi n. Never
extinguish ignited fats and ils with water! Put the lid n the pan and switch
ff the c king z ne.
■ The glass ceramic surface is very t ugh and can easily stand light t
medium bl ws and l ads distributed ver large areas. Y u sh uld, h wever,
av id c ncentrated l ads, such as c ntainers f r spices and herbs r b ttles
falling nt the surface.
■ If the glass ceramic surface sh ws any signs f cracks, fissures r
breakage, switch ff the appliance immediately and call Cust mer Service.
■ Make sure c nnecti n cables f r electrical devices are n t jammed n the
h t burners.
■ Always keep pressure c kers under bservati n until the right pressure has
been reached. First set the burner t full flame and then turn d wn the
flame in g d time (as indicated by the manufacturer f the saucepan).
■ Make sure that the c king z nes are kept clean, since s iling will impair
the functi ning f the h b.
■ Always ensure that y u place the intermediate ring, the burner ring and the
burner cap nt the burner t p plate pr perly. There can be n mix-up n
replacing them. The burner c mp nents are t be pr perly placed (turn until
y u can feel that the c mp nent has engaged) in their designated p siti n
(alignment pins). The slits n the burner head must never be c vered.
■ Sh uld there be a p wer failure r sh uld the spark plugs bec me damp,
escaping gas can als be ignited with a match r with a gas igniter.

Initial cleaning
– Clean the h b with water and s me detergent.
– Rewipe it with clear water and finally dry it.
Switching the burner n and ff
The dual-circuit burner nly has ne kn b f r setting all f the functi ns. The
symb ls are arranged ar und the kn b in circles f r the main ( uter) burner
and the l w (inner) burner respectively.

Igniting and adjusting the burner
– In rder t ignite the burner, turn the
c king z ne kn b anti-cl ckwise nt
full flame (igniti n). Y u will need
t release the l ck-in p siti n by
pressing the kn b in slightly.
– Press the c king z ne kn b in until it
st ps.
A clearly-audible cl cking s und
indicates that an igniti n spark, which
will quickly ignite the escaping gas, is
being generated.
– After igniti n, keep the kn b pressed
f r appr x. an ther 10 sec nds until
the therm sens r has been
sufficiently heated up and the flame is
c nsistent.
– After that, the flame intensity can be regulated between uter circuit full
flame and inner circuit l w flame . The flame will be inc nsistent
bey nd this range.
– As far as p ssible, start c king at the highest setting and c ntinue c king
at a l wer setting.
FSh uld the burner n t have ignited after 10 sec nds r the flame have
g ne ut, repeat the igniti n pr cedure as f ll ws:
Turn the kn b t ( ff) and then wait f r ne minute (gas will v latize).
Only then sh uld the igniti n pr cedure be repeated.
FSh uld there be a p wer failure r sh uld the spark plugs bec me damp,
escaping gas can als be ignited with a match r with a gas igniter.
Switching off the burner

Which are the best p ts and pans?
[P ts and pans must always be placed n the centre f the burner. Only
use p ts and w k pans which are sufficiently sturdy.
[C kware which is in use (p ts, saucepans, pans and w k pans) may n t
extend ver the edge f the c king z ne.
When using large, shall w c kware, h t exhaust gas will fl w ut fr m
under the base f the c kware and may damage the w rkt p!
You can save time and power by choosing the best pans.
Ch se a p t r pan wh se diameter fits the burner size.
Make sure p ts and pans are suited t the ring used. The flame sh uld
c mpletely c ver the base. It ught n t t exceed it.
Always make sure that the lid is on the saucepan.
The f d will nly b il ver if the flame is set t high. With a little practice
y u will learn t set the flame t just the right heat s that the f d will n t
b il ver, even when the lid is n the saucepan.

reas ns.
Cleaning and maintenance
[Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner r any similar appliance!
■ Never use sharp r abrasive agents!
Usually it is sufficient t clean the
appliance with a damp cl th and a
little washing-up liquid each time y u
use it. Wipe dry afterwards.
■ Incrustati n due t b iled ver f ds
sh uld first be s aked – best with a
wet cl th. Then rem ve them with a
glass scraper. Rem ve sugar and
melted plastic immediately while the
c king surface is still h t.
■ Care f r y ur glass ceramic h b nce
a week.
Regular care builds up a pr tective layer. This als eases day t day
cleaning. Please bserve the cleaning and servicing instructi ns f the
respective manufacturers.
Even heavy s iling can be cleaned with a cleanser and en ugh water.
Afterwards always wipe dry with a cl th.
Burner cap / burner ring / pan supp rt
■ D n t use any abrasive r aggressive cleaning r sc uring agents such as
steel w l, s ap-impregnated steel w l, metal r plastic sp nges r similar
agents with an abrasive surface.
■ All w the burner parts t c l d wn bef re cleaning them.
■ Clean the burner cap, the burner ring and the pan supp rts in warm water
t which a detergent has been added. Dry well after cleaning. Ensure that
the penings f the burners are n t bl cked.
■ Clean the therm sens r and the spark plug with a s ft brush.
■ Never use s da r chl ric cleaning agents n the burner parts. Alkaline
cleaning agents and ven sprays can damage the surfaces.
■ When replacing the burner cap, make sure that the pins l ck int the
penings.
■ Av id dirt burning and bec ming encrusted. S ak areas which are m re
difficult t clean and places where f d has b iled ver and bec me stuck
first bef re cleaning.

What to do if trouble occurs...
[Repairs must be carried ut by a qualified service engineer!
But there are s me pr blems that y u can fix y urself. First check whether
there has been any perating err r. Repairs during the guarantee peri d are
chargeable, if they are caused by user err r r n n- bservance f the f ll wing
instructi ns.

■ Important! The gas categ ry permitted f r the c nnecti n f the appliances
can differ fr m regi n t regi n. In case f d ubt enquire at y ur l cal gas
b ard t find ut which categ ries f gas c me int questi n. Check whether
the data n the rating label are in acc rdance with the l cal c nnecti n
c nditi ns (type f gas and gas pressure) and with the appliance setting. If
there are any discrepancies the appliance must be c nverted acc rdingly!
■ If the appliance is c nnected up t the gas mains, particular attenti n must
be paid t the relevant regulati ns and guidelines laid d wn by the
ass ciati ns in the c untry where the appliance is being perated. In
Germany and Austria these are:
DVGW-TRGI 1986/96 Technical regulati ns f r gas installati n (Germany)
TRF 1996 Technical regulati ns f r liquefied petr leum gas (Germany)
ÖVGW-TRGI and TRG 2 Part 1 Technical regulati ns (Austria)
Regulati ns f the l cal gas utilities and auth rities (e.g. f r fire pr tecti n)
are als t be bserved.
■ The appliance sh uld nly be c nnected and put int perati n by a
qualified gas fitter wh sh uld als be the nly pers n t carry ut any w rk
such as maintenance and repair r adjustment and c nversi n. The legally
rec gnised regulati ns and the c nditi ns f r c nnecti n laid d wn by the
l cal gas b ard sh uld be bserved in all details.
W rk which has been impr perly carried ut endangers the safety f the
user!
■ This appliance sh uld n t be c nnected t a pipe f r extracting c mbusti n
pr ducts. It must be installed and c nnected in acc rdance with the
applicable c nditi ns f installati n. Particular attenti n sh uld be paid t
sufficient ventilati n measures.
■ If the c nnecti n plug sh uld n t be accessible, pr tect the appliance by line-
pr tecting switches, fuses r c ntact rs wh se c ntact pening has a width
f at least 3 mm.
■ When making any repair, ensure the appliance is electrically dead using the
devices ab ve and cut ff the gas supply.
■ When c nverting fr m natural gas t liquefied petr leum gas, it is always
necessary t change the main inject r and the l w flame inject r. This als
applies if the reverse is the case. This c nversi n sh uld nly be carried
ut by a qualified gas fitter.
■ Any c nversi ns t different types f gas must be permanently marked n
the nameplate f the appliance.
■ N changes may be made t the appliance unless with the express appr val
f the manufacturer.

■ The installati n space must have a v lume f at least 20 m3 and it must
be p ssible t ventilate the area by a wind w r a d r pening ut int
the fresh air.
■ The h b is built int a w rkt p pening, which must be cut in acc rdance
with the dimensi ns specified bel w.
■ The w rkt p must be installed h riz ntally and the pening must be cleanly
cut.

If the w rkt p is deeper, the edge at the back will be wider.
■ The wall c nnecti n strip sh uld be made f heat-resistant material and
must n t be pr vided with s ckets in the area ar und the h b. We
rec mmend using a supp rt strip made f plastic and a c vering strip made
f aluminium. The lateral part n the w rkt p must n t be l nger than
30 mm.
■ The wall ab ve the wall c nnecti n strip in the area ar und the appliance
must be made f n n-inflammable material. W d, plastic, PVC f il etc. d
n t meet this requirement.
■ In n rmal use adjacent furniture may be subjected t increased
temperatures. Such furniture must c mply with the relevant legal and
technical requirements. The plastic finish r the veneer f built-in kitchen
furniture must have been pr duced using a heat-resistant adhesive
(100 °C).
■ N cr ss-bars may be in the area f the cut- ut underneath. They have t
be reduced at least t the pening size f the w rkt p.
■ The pr perly installed device
must be pr tected with a

imp ssible t accidentally
c me int c ntact with the
b tt m side f the h b.
This c ver must nly be able
t be rem ved with the aid
f t ls and must be
attached at a minimum distance f 20 mm fr m the b tt m f the h b, s

We rec mmend t seal the cut secti ns f the w rkt p f r built-in sinks and
ven h bs with a water-repellent pr tecti n paint.
Each time the appliance is rem ved fr m the w rkt p, replace the seals.
In the case f ceramic-tiled w rkt ps it is necessary t pr vide an additi nal
seal with the aid f a permanently elastic sealing c mp und. Such sealing
c mp und can be purchased as Küppersbusch spare part N . 53 55 69.
[The hob must under no circumstances be sealed with silicone
sealant!
This w uld mean that it will be imp ssible t rem ve the h b at a later
date with ut damaging it.
Installati n dimensi ns
When installing several h bs side by side please bserve the minimum
distances between the w rkt p penings as sh wn in the drawings:

Using clips makes it easier and quicker f r y u t install these units. Y u can
carry ut the c mplete installati n w rk fr m ab ve.
■ Be extremely careful when installing the glass ceramic c king surface!
D n t place r dr p any sharp r p inted t ls (screwdrivers, etc.) n the
glass surface!
■ The glass ceramic h b must have a level and flush bearing. Any dist rti n
may lead t fracture f the glass panel.
Making the worktop recess
– Make the w rkt p recess accurately with a g d, straight saw blade r
recessing machine in acc rdance with the dimensi ns in the illustrati ns.
– The cut edges sh uld then be sealed s that n m isture can penetrate.

Checking or replacing the sealing
– Check that the seal fits well and has n gaps.
When installing a h b int an uneven w rkt p, e.g. with a ceramic r similar
c vering (tiles etc.), the seal n the h b is t be rem ved and the seal between
the h b and w rkt p made with plastic sealing materials (n t included in sc pe
f delivery).
Such sealing c mp und can be purchased as Küppersbusch spare part
N.535569.
– Clean the surfaces, apply the sealant in a c ntinu s strip and press the h b
int the pening.
– Rem ve excess sealant by cutting and clean the sealed surface immediately
with water.
Drive in the clips
FF r st ne w rkt ps the clips are attached as indicated in secti n “Special
case: Installing in a w rkt p made f st ne”.
– Align the clips carefully and drive them in with a hammer.

Insert the clips of the hob

(1), align it (2) and insert the
clips (3).
Be careful n t t pinch the
c nnecting cable!
[The h b must rest evenly in the pening. If the strain f the h b is t
great the appliance can crack when heating up.
FIf the h b is n t fixed tightly in the pening it
is slightly t big. In this case screw the clips
with tw screws d wn each (n t supplied) t
raise the spring tensi n.
Special case: Installing in a worktop made of stone
With a w rkt p made f marble, granite r similar material, the clips are n t
screwed t the cut- ut but t the h b.

Gas c nnecti n
First check whether y u have the right type f gas and the right gas supply
pressure. Y u will find the details f the gas supply pressure in the secti n
“Technical data” (p. 24).
The adhesive label (which is l cated n the b tt m f the appliance) indicates
f r what type f gas the built-in h b has been adjusted.
It is p ssible t c nvert t an ther type f gas; this is explained in these
perating and installati n instructi ns under “C nverting t a different type f
gas” (p. 21).
The pipe f r the gas c nnecti n is at the centre f the underside f the
appliance.
The R 1/2" gas c nnecti n required can either be a permanent c nnecti n by
means f a main c ck in acc rdance with DIN 3354 r a DVGW (German Gas
and Water Ass ciati n)-auth rised gas safety h se with a s cket (DIN 3383,
Sheet 1).
It must be ensured that the c nnecti n parts are laid in such a manner that
they cann t heat up and bec me damaged while the appliance is in perati n
and that they cann t c me int c ntact with the m vable parts f the kitchen
elements.
Electrical c nnecti n
An earthed sh ckpr f s cket is required f r electrical c nnecti n. Electrical
c nnecti n must be carried ut in c nf rmity with the VDE guidelines. The
appliance has been c nstructed f r a mains supply f 220-240 V / 50 Hz.
P wer c nsumpti n is less than 20 watts.
The c nnecti n cables must be laid in such a way that they d n t heat up
and bec me damaged when the appliance is in perati n.
Converting to a different type of
gas
This appliance can be c nverted t run n ther types f gas.
[Adjustment and c nversi n w rk sh uld nly be carried ut by a qualified
gas fitter! The applicable rules and regulati ns sh uld be bserved.
Disc nnect the appliance fr m the p wer supply s that it is c mpletely
free f v ltage.
[The type f gas and the gas supply pressure must c rresp nd t the gas
setting specified n the appliance. The fact ry setting is indicated n an
inf rmati n plate r n the identificati n plate.
[Any subsequent c nversi ns t different types f gas must be
permanently marked n the nameplate f the appliance.
[Use nly the special inject rs which can be rdered fr m Cust mer
Service.
[On adapting t an ther type f gas it is essential that the full flame and
l w flame inject rs are replaced; see as f ll ws in this instructi n manual.

C nverting ring burners
[Cl se the gas tap! Pull ut the mains plug!
[Check the replacement inject rs in acc rdance with the chart “Diameter
f inject rs”! Make sure that the right inject r is being used f r each
respective burner.
Removing the hob
– Rem ve the pan supp rt, the burner cap, the burner ring and the
intermediate ring.
– Rem ve the c ntr l kn b.
– Press the h b ut f the w rkt p fr m bel w and rem ve it.
D n t use a screw driver t lever the appliance ut f the pening - This
will damage the frame f appliance.
– Place the h b nt a sm th surface with the t p facing d wn.
Pr tect the glass ceramic surface fr m bec ming scratched by placing it n
a s ft surface.
– Rem ve the fl r f the appliance.
Remove the tap tube and the gas tap.
– Unscrew the screws .
– M ve the reinf rcement
metal sheet t wards the
gas c nnecti n and
rem ve it thr ugh the
penings in the frame n
the right.
– L sen the fastening
screw f the inject r
tube.
–Remve the
screws f
the large supply pipe n
the burner tap.
– Push the burner angle
and the inject r tube
t wards the burner. On
d ing s , pull the supply
pipe ut f the screws.
–Remve the
screws f
the small supply pipe n
the inner burner.
– Screw the therm stat element ff the tap.
– Pull the igniti n switch cables ff the c nnecti n clamp and the igniti n
device.
– Rem ve the 4 screws with which the supp rt f the tap pipe is attached
t the casing.
– Lift the tap pipe ut f the casing and turn it s that the axle f the c ntr l
grip is facing upwards.
Replacing the low flame injectors on the gas tap
– L sen the tw l w flame inject rs with a screw driver and rem ve them.
– Insert new inject rs and screw them tight.
Replacing the full-flame injectors
Outer burner:
– Replace the full-flame inject r ! with the help f an pen-jawed spanner
(SW10). If necessary, rem ve the entire burner angle in rder t d s .
[On replacing the tap pipe, the primary ventilati n duct (clearance “A”)
must be adjusted in acc rdance with the inf rmati n n the table bel w.
– In rder t adjust the primary ventilati n duct, rem ve the fastening screw
f the inject r tube, adjust the clearance “A” and fasten.
Inner burner:
– Screw the inject r supp rt ut f the inner burner.
– Replace the full-flame inject r (SW 4) which it c ntains.
– Adjust the primary ventilati n duct “B” in acc rdance with the inf rmati n
n the table bel w.
– Screw the inject r supp rt back int the inner burner.

Appliance installation
– Installati n f the appliance is carried ut in reverse rder t rem val.
[Pri r t tightening the fixing screw f the inject r tube, it is essential
t adjust the primary ventilati n duct “A”.
See secti n “Replacing the full-flame inject rs” n page 22.
Re-installing the hob
– Check the gasket.
– P siti n the h b n the left side
(1), align it (2) and clip it in (3).
Be careful n t t pinch the
c nnecting cable!
– Attach the c ntr l kn b.
– Put n the intermediate ring, the burner ring, the burner cap and the pan
supp rt, ensuring that they are pr perly p siti ned. The peg must engage
in the sl t.
Functi nal test
[A functi nal test must be carried ut when re-installati n f the appliance
has been c mpleted!
– Put the appliance int perati n in acc rdance with these perati n
instructi ns.
– Check t ensure that the appliance is gas-pr f (see DVGW – German
Ass ciati n f Gas and Water Industry – w rksheet n . G600 (DVGW TRGl
1986/96 / TRF 1996).
– Carry ut regular checks t ensure cr ss-igniti n and a steady burner flame
(f r a l w flame t ).
