INTRODUCTION
TheKAM®WeightScaleisdesignedforintegrationwiththeKAM®CSS Complete Sampling System and is used
toverifysamplevolumeinKAM®SRSampleReceiversperAPIChapter8.2,ASTM4177andISO3171.Weight
Scale units (generally 2) are placed inside a KAM®SRHSampleReceiverHousing,andtheKAM®SR Sample
ReceiversareplacedontopoftheWeightScaleplatforms.
EachWeightScaleunitcommunicateswiththeKAMSCSamplerControllervia4-20mA.The4-20mAsignal
directlycorrelatestothecurrentweightoftheSampleReceiveranditsvolumetricequivalent.Inthisway,op-
eratorscanremotelymonitorforaccumulatedsamplevolume,andautomaticallyswitchtoasecondSample
Receiverforcontinuedsamplecollectiononcetherstreceiverisfull.

WARNING:TheKAMWeightScalehasmechanical
stopstopreventdamagefromoverweightreceivers.
HOWEVER,placingreceiversabovethemaximum
weightorslammingreceiversdownontoscalewill
resultindamagetothescale.
1.RemovecoverfromWeightScaleControllerbyrst
removingsetscrewonthebottomofcover(seeFig.
3.3)andthenturningcovercounterclockwise.
2.RemoveLCDdisplayplatebyrstremovingthe(3)
4-40 screws. See Fig. 3.4.
3.Lifethedisplayplateupforeasieraccess,then
disconnecttheLCDcable.

5.Connectthe12or24V+wiretothe"V+"terminal.
Thenconnectthenegativewiretothe"V-terminal.
6. Connect 4-20mA output wires to "Loop+" and
"Loop-."
7. Reconnect LCD cable going to display plate and
securewith(3)4-40screws.Fig.3.5.
8. Power can now be turned on.
