1.2 Main Functions
Records 4 simultaneous camera images on to the hard drive without the need of a VCR, quad, multiplexer
or any video cassettes. With no cassettes to change or VCR to maintain, it’s easy to use and even easier to
fit with everything built into one unit.
The CCT700 processes and records the camera images in a digital format providing a good standard of
picture quality.
With images being automatically stored on a hard drive, there’s no need for staff to manage or replace a
multitude of video cassettes. This makes it perfect for an easy to use but very effective unattended recording
system for any business.
The CCT700 can be connected to a computer or network. This means images can be viewed remotely,
saved and even printed on a normal computer printer. By adding an external modem to the unit, it is possible
to dial into the system and remotely monitor and view the camera pictures for a truly versatile system.
For added security, the set-up menus of the CCT700 are password protected so that only approved
personnel can access them.

How long can the hard disk record for without getting full?
This will depend on the number of cameras used, the quality setting of the recorder and its refresh rate (ie,
how many frames per second are recorded.) Typically with the 40gb hard drive supplied and using 4
cameras, in an almost real time recording, you can achieve approx. 24 hours coverage. By altering the
recording quality and camera refresh rate, you could increase this to over a month!
The recording time of the CCT700 can be extended by adding additional hard drives, up to a max. of 4 x
80GB hard drives. Once the hard drive is full, the CCT700 continues recording by overwriting the first
images that have been stored. This allows access to older images if a theft or break in has occurred.

3.3 Recording
Operating
There are 4 methods of activating recording.
1-Manually by pressing the REC button
2-Scheduled timed recording, like a domestic VCR
3-By alarm activation using the alarm inputs.
By the Video Motion Detection built in to the unit
Recording by Button
To start recording manually all you have to do is press the REC button! Once pressed the red record LED
illuminates and a REC icon is displayed on the screen. To stop recording, either press STOP or press REC
for a second time.
Reserved Recording.
This feature is very similar to a “programmed scheduled recording” on a domestic VCR. You can set the day
or days you want to record along with the start and stop times. This feature is particularly useful to only
record at times suited to a particular business. For example, you may wish to record only in the open hours
of a business such as a shop therefore extending the overall recording time of the CCT700. It is still possible
to record critical events in the closed hours by linking the alarm inputs of the CCT700 to the businesses
alarm system or an independent detector such as a door contact or PIR
Recording by Event Only Activation
The CCT700 has an alarm input facility so that you can record event only occurrences such as someone
entering a room. This would be done by using a PIR or a door contact connected to the rear of the CCT700
to its alarm input.
Recording by Motion Detection
The CCT700 has a very simple “video motion detection” (VMD) circuit built into it. Although this is a basic
VMD it is nether less a useful feature when used correctly. It allows you to set the sensitivity required and the
length of time the unit will record after being triggered by the detection of movement. This VMD works on all
the camera channels at once so if it detects motion on any of them it records them all. The VMD feature
would be very useful for systems that are covering areas infrequently accessed or in covert installations to
get very long periods of automated recording.

Operation
The System Set up is accessed via the set up button.
To get to the set up screen itself, you need to enter the system password.
It is very important that before you record anything you make sure that you set the correct date and time
