Introduction
If you need extra hot water for a jacuzzi, rain shower, or multiple
bathtubs, Kardia Alta is the best solution. Alta consists of a 300L
express hot water heater from OSO, complete water distribution,
balanced ventilation, and electrical panel, and can be used in
homes from 80 – 210 m² square meters.
Summary of Components
Plumbing
1. Union for water intake 32mm PEX/PEL.
2. Pressure reducing valve with filter.
3. Wireless leakage stopper with actuator
valve, control box, adapter and sensor
cable. This also comes with two
additional wireless sensors. Up to 10
wireless sensors can be added to the
same system.
4. Bracket for water meter.
5. Check valve.
6. Expansion tank.
7. Manifold connection for cold and hot water.
Connection dimension in male 1” and easy
reducible to ¾”.
8. Hot water heater OSO SAGA XPRESS SX 300 with
2x3kw heating elements and 300L capacity.
(produces hot water 3 times quicker than normal
heaters).

Electrical Cabinet
 Total 70 modules (5 rows of 14
modules per line).
 Available in 400V 4P with 40A main
circuit breaker or 230V 3P with 50A
main circuit breaker.
 RCBO ground fault circuit breakers:

electrical meter (not included).

What Is Included
1. Sliding door package
This package is located
between the inner and
outer packaging layer. The
sliding doors should be
installed at the end of the
project.
2. Attachment Package
This package is inside the
Kardia unit and contains
the intake assembly, rubber
cone, and wireless sensor
with remote controller.
4. Electrician package
This package is inside the
electrical cabinet and
includes cabinet connector
50mm, circuit numbers,
voltage labels, and the cover
for the bottom electrical
connection.

Side cover

Cover the upcoming PEX pipes from the
ground to the water manifold, can be ordered

Installation
Rough-in
1. Install 32mm PEX / PEL for water supply. Cut so that the tube
protrudes approx.70cm over finished concrete.
2. Install 75mm PE / PP for floor drain. Cut so that the tube
protrudes approx. 10cm over finished concrete.
3. The main cable for electrical supply can be installed in the top
or bottom of the Kardia unit.
4. PEX pipe-in-pipe can be installed in top and/or bottom of
Kardia unit. For PEX pipes installed in the bottom, cut so that
the tube protrudes minimum 200cm over finished concrete.
*Tolerance on floor plan: +/- 10mm.

Lifting and Mounting
1. Mark where the cabinet should stand.
2. The Kardia unit must stand
level. The base can be
adjusted with rubber shims
placed under each corner
where the unit shall stand.
The rubber shims are
attached to the outside of the
package for easy access during assembly (80x80mm
rubber shims, 4x2mm green, 4x3mm yellow and 4x4mm
red are included).
These can be combined to adjust each corner from 2 - 9mm.
Use a laser to check that there is a max 1mm height difference
between all 4 corners.

3. The packaging can be removed
before installation, but it is
recommended not to remove
the inner package layer until
necessary to avoid damage
during hoisting and
construction activity.
4. The sliding doors are attached
to the cabinet inside the outer
layer of packaging. Set these
aside in a safe place for later
installation.
5. The cabinet is lifted by using the
four eye bolts located at the top
of the unit and must be hoisted
with approved lifting
equipment. The cabinet weighs
470kg.
6. Cut away all packaging from
the underside of the cabinet
before lowering the cabinet in
place. Lower the cabinet into
place on the rubber shims.
While lowering, lead the main
water pipe into the base plate
cone. Leave packaging covering
the top and sides until the
house is sealed to protect the
cabinet during the construction
period.
7. Attach the steel frame to the house’s framing with 2-3 screws
(recommend 100x5mm wood screws). This is to avoid that the
unit is moved during the building process which can result in
the drainage pipe disconnecting from the drain.

Hold brass pre-assembly at
the correct height. Then
mark and cut the pipe at
the correct height .

Floor Drain Installation
1. Remove the access panel at the base of the Kardia unit.
2. Connect the floor drain to the rough-in pipe. Check that the
drain is waterproof before replacing the access panel.
Manifold connection
There is a manifold connection for hot water at the bottom and
cold water on top.
The connection dimension is in male 1” and it easy to reduce to
¾”. There can be used any manifold which is available on the
marked.

Install Water Meter
The water meter is to be installed in the water meter bracket.
Electrical connection
Kardia contains an electrical cabinet with ready-mounted circuit
breaker and busbars. Internal equipment cables are ready for
connection to the electrical cabinet.
A pre-installed ground connection from the earthing bar to the
water supply is included.
This electrical cabinet must be connected by an authorized
electrician in the same way as a traditional electrical cabinet.
Connection of ventilation pipes
The ventilation pipes must be screwed together with 25mm
self-drilling screws. The connection is sealed with tape to
ensure it is airtight.

Installation of sliding door
There must be 35mm of clearance above the top rail of the
sliding door to allow for installation and removal.
This is indicated by a line above the rail marked “Gypsum board
until here ↓”. Do not install anything below this line.
Install the sliding doors as the last step during construction
before the house is transferred to the customer.
See following instruction how to install the door:

Step 1
Insert the inner door to lower sliding rail. Make sure the wheel
brackets are unlocked.
Step 2
Hang the top part into sliding rail and lock the wheel brackets.

Step 3
Slide the inner door to the far left/right until it clicks to the
end position.
Step 4
Insert the outer door to lower sliding rail. Make sure wheel
brackets are unlocked.
Step 5
Hang the top part into sliding rail.

Make adjustments accordingly.
Cleaning
The cabinet should be kept clean inside, and all tradespersons
working on the Kardia unit should clean up after themselves to
ensure a smooth connection process.

Commissioning
Water Distribution
Pressure Test
Pressure testing of the complete water
system shall be performed at a pressure of 1.3
times the designed pressure or according to
local standards. Testing should be done after
temperature equalization. The pressure must
be held constant for 2 hours.
Pressure Adjustment
The system is factory-adjusted to have an output pressure of 3
bar. To adjust the pressure, follow the instructions below. The
pressure must not exceed 6 bar.
To adjust water pressure (if required):
1. Set the outlet pressure at least 1 bar below the inlet pressure.
2. Close the ball valve on the input side.
3. Reduce the pressure on the output side.
(e.g. by draining water)
4. Close the ball valve on the output side.
5. Loosen slotted screw. Do not unscrew the slotted screw
6. Slacken the pressure spring. Turn the adjuster knob
(black) anti-clockwise (-) as far as it will go.
7. Slowly open the shut-off valve on the input side.
8. Turn the adjuster knob until the setting scale displays the
desired value.
9. Re-tighten the slotted screw.
10. Slowly open the ball valve on the output side.
