4 System overview
The KC-S10 is used to switch off two phases in the event of input currents
that are too low for the charging process.
The charging station checks whether there is sufficient current for each
phase of a 3-phase charging process cyclically using the energy meter. If
there is less than 6 A per phase, then the KC-S10 switches off 2 phases.
The charging process is carried out with just 1 phase. When sufficient cur-
rent becomes available again, KC-S10 enables all phases to be used.

6 Mounting and installation instructions
The device must be installed on a wall in the vertical position.
Fastening materials (anchors, screws, etc.) are not included in the scope of
delivery. Proper installation is absolutely necessary and lies outside of the
scope of responsibility of the manufacturer.
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock and fire hazard!
For installation on hollow walls, at least two mounting screws must be se-
cured to a support element of the wall. Special hollow-wall anchors must be
used for the other mounting screws. It is particularly important to make sure
the substructure has sufficient load-bearing capacity.
Caution
Property damage due to dampness and moisture!
● Installation and commissioning must be done in a suitable environment.
The device must be protected against rain, snow and dirt. If installed out-
doors, the connection panel cover is not permitted to be opened in case
of rain, wind or snow.
● Only vertical installation on a wall is permitted.
● Do not subject the device to high humidity for a longer period of time.
● If a cold device is brought into a significantly warmer environment (e.g.
after extended transport in a cold environment), condensation moisture
may form in the device.
Before connecting to the power supply, you must wait until the tempera-
ture of the device is the same as the room temperature and the moisture
has evaporated again.
Caution
Risk of breaking the plastic housing!
● Do not tighten the mounting screws with force (max. 1.2 Nm).
● The mounting surface must be completely flat. Warpage of the housing
must be prevented.
● If adjustment is necessary, washers must be used.
6.1 General criteria for the site selection
The device was designed for indoor and outdoor use. Accordingly, it is nec-
essary to ensure the correct set-up requirements and the protection of the
device at the installation site.
The following criteria must be taken into account when selecting a location:

KC-S10 Mounting and installation instructions
V15
© KEBA 2022
● Take into account the local electrical installation regulations, fire preven-
tion measures and accident prevention regulations as well as emer-
gency routes at this site.
● The device must not be installed in zones at potential risk of explosion
(EX environment).
● The device may only be installed in stationary applications.
● Do not install the device at locations where it is exposed to ammonia or
ammonia gas (e.g. in or at stables).
● Do not install the device at locations where falling objects could damage
the device (e.g. hung-up ladders or automobile tires).
● The device must not be exposed to direct spray water (e.g. neighboring
manual car wash facility, high-pressure cleaner, garden hose).
● The device should be protected against direct rain as far as possible to
prevent icing, hail damage or similar.
● If possible, the device should be mounted protected from direct sunlight.
● Observe the permissible environmental conditions (see "Technical
data").
Observe the internationally valid standards and comply with the nationally
applicable regulations.
6.2 Space requirements
The device must be installed with the following clearances to the surround-
ings.
Fig.6-7: Space requirement, specified in mm

6.3 Required tools
The following tools are required for the installation:
● Ø 6 mm drill (appropriate for subsurface)
● Screwdriver/bit (appropriate for the screws used)
6.4 Mounting the device
The following aids are required for the initial installation:
● Drilling template (see 16 Appendix: Drilling template)
● 4 anchors (according to wall material)
● Washers (optional)
● 4 screws
To install the device correctly before initial commissioning, proceed as fol-
lows:
1) Mark the four drill holes on the intended place on the wall.
2) Drill boreholes and, if necessary, insert anchors in the holes.
3) Pull the cable through the prepared openings on the device (top and bot-
tom).
4) Guide the supply line far enough into the cable gland that the cable
sheath is visible in the connection area.
5) Tighten the cable glands. Pay attention to leak tightness (M20: max. 4
Nm, M32: max. 7 Nm).
6) Offset any unevenness with washers.
7) Position the device on the wall and tighten to the wall with the four
screws (max. 1.2 Nm).
The device is now mounted on the wall and ready for wiring.

7 Connections and wiring
7.1 Required tools
The following tools are required for the electrical installation:
● Flathead screwdriver for supply terminals (blade width 5.5 mm)
● Flathead screwdriver for terminals X2.1 and X2.2 (blade width 3.0 mm)
● Flathead screwdriver for housing screws (blade width 5.5 mm)
● Mounting tools for M20 (width across flats 22 mm) and M32 cable glands
(width across flats 36 mm)
7.2 Power supply
The power supply (supply line) must be hardwired to an existing domestic in-
stallation and comply with the applicable national regulations.
Main switch
The device does not have its own power switch. The circuit breaker of the
supply line serves as a main switch.
7.2.1 Cable installation
Note the following points during cable installation:
● The supply line must be guided far enough into the cable gland that the
cable sheath is visible in the connection area. An appropriate diameter
of cable gland for the cable diameter must be observed in order ensure
leak tightness.
● Make sure that the connection cables are inserted through the opening
centered, straight and without pressure to ensure tightness.
● The installation pipe or cable conduit with the supply line may not be
screwed into or run through the opening.
● The supply line must be routed straight through the opening in compli-
ance with the bending radii (approx. 10x cable diameter).
7.2.2 Connection example
The device is connected using the three phases L1, L2 and L3, the neutral
conductor N and the protective conductor PE.
