Contact your local water board for information on the hardness of your wate r supply.
The har dness of the wa ter varies from pla ce to place. If hard wate r is use d in the dishw as her, deposits will form on the dishes
and utensils.
The app l ia nce s is equipped with a speci al softener that uses a salt spe cifi ca ll y designed to eliminate lim e and minerals from the
water .
WATER SOFTENER
NOTE:
The dis hwa she r is de si gned to allow for adj usting the amou nt of sal t consum ed based on the hardness of the water used.
This is intended to optimize and customi ze the level of salt consumption so that the salt consumpti on could be set pr oce ed as
follows:
There are two ways to reduce the hardness: one way is using water softener, the other is u sing
detergent.

Amoun t o f Detergent to Us e
IF THE WATE R ISN'T TOO HA RD, Y OU M AY A LSO PREV ENT THE FORM ATION OF DEPOSITS BY ADDING DETERGENT.
The amount o f de tergent needed can vary due to differe nce s in water hardness. To determine t he water hardness in your ar ea ,
contact your l oca l water uti lity or area w ater softeni ng company. The harder the water , the mo re deter gent you may nee d.
Remember, you should adjust the amount of detergent you use by small amounts until you find the correct amount.
Proper Use of Detergent
Removing Hard Water Spots
To remove hard water spots, try the following:
Run d i shes thr ough a norma l w ash pr ogr am.
Remov e al l me tal di shw are , s uch as cutle ry , pans , e tc. ,
from the dishwasher.
Do no t add dete rge nt.
Pour two c ups of v ine gar i nto a bowl a nd s et the bowl fa ce
up on the lower rack of the dishwasher.
Run the di shes through a norm al wash pr og ram .
If this doe sn't work, try the same process with 1 / 4 cup of
citric acid crystals inste ad of vinegar.
Use only detergent specifically made for use in dishwashers.
Keep your detergent fresh and dry. Don't put powder detergent
into the dispenser until You're ready to wash dishes.
RINSE AID DISPENSER
The rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water
from forming droplets on your dishes that can leave spots and
streaks. It also improves drying by allowing water to "sheet" off
the dis hes .
Your dishwas hers are designed to use liquid rinse aids. The
rinse aid dispenser is located inside the door next to the
detergent dispenser. To fill the dispenser, open the cap and
pour the rinse aid into the dispenser until the level indicator
turns completely black. The dispenser holds about 100 ml of
liquid rinse aid.
Be careful not to overfill the dispenser, because this could
cause ov er sudsi ng. Wi pe away any spills wi th a da mp cloth.
Don't forget to replace the cap before you close the dishwasher
door.
If you hav e soft water , you may not nee d rinse aid for it may
cause a white film to develop on your dis hes .

Replace the cap by inse rti ng it aligned with "open" arrow
and turning it to the closed (right) arrow.
Adjusting Rinse Aid Dispenser
A mea sure d amount of rinse aid is rel eas ed during the final rins e. As w ith dete rge nt, the am ount
of rinse aid needed for your dishes depends on the hardness of the wa ter i n your a rea. Too muc h
rinse aid can result in lather of foaming and cause cloudiness or ste ak s on your di shes. If the
water in your area is very soft, you ma y not need rinse aid. If you do,you c an dilute the rinse aid
wi th an eq u al am ount o f wa ter.
The rinse aid di spens er ha s si x se ttings. Al wa ys s tar t with the d is pens er s et on " 1 ". If spots a nd
poor drying are probl em s, increase the amount of rins e aid dispensed by removing the di spe nser
lid and rotating the dial to "2". If the dishes still are not drying properly or a re spotted, adjust the
dial to the next higher number until your dishes are spot-free. We suggest you to set on "4" .

Cleaning the Spray Arms
It is ne ce ssa ry to clea n the spray a rms regular ly for hard water chemicals will clog the spray arm jets and bearings. To remove the
spray arm , scr ew off the nut to take out the washer on top of the spray arm and remove the arm. Wash the arms in soa py and warm

Never run the dishwasher without the filters in pla ce.
WARNING!
Cleaning the Filters
Filter assembly
For best pe rformanc e and resu l ts, the filter assembly must be c le aned.
The fil ter effic ie ntl y removes fo od par tic les from the was h wate r, all o wi ng it to be
recirculated dur ing the cycl e. For thi s reason, it is a good idea to remove the larger
food parti cles tr apped in the filter after each wash cycle by ri nsi ng the sem ic irc ula r
fil ter a nd cup unde r r unni ng wa te r. To rem ove the fi lte r as se mbly, pull on the cup
handl e in th e upw ard di rec tion . The entir e fil ter a ss em bly s houl d be cleaned at least
once a month.
To clean the coarse fil ter and th e fine filter, us e a clea ning brush. Then, reassemble
the filter parts as s hown in the figur es left and reins ert the e ntire as sem bly in the
dishwasher, positioning in its s eat and pressing downward.
The dis hwasher mus t neve r be use d without the filters. Improper re plac em ent of the
filter may reduc e the performance level of the applia nce and damage dishes and utensils.

Cleaning the Door
Never us e a spray cl eane r to clean the door panel for it could dam age the door lock and electrical components. It is not allowed
to use the abrasive agent or some paper towe l becauseof the ris k of sc ra tc hing or l eav ing spots on t he s tainl es s steel s urfa ce.
WARNING!
To clean the edge around the door, you should use only a soft warm , da mp ra g . To pre ve nt
penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spr ay c le aner
of any kind.
Also, never use abrasive cle ane rs or scour ing pads on the outer surfaces bec au se they will
scratch the fini sh. Some paper s towels can also scra tch or leav e marks on the sur face.
Cleaning the Drain Pump
Som ethi ng w il l occ asi onal ly m ove i nto th e fi lte rs a nd the dr ai n pum p. If this oc cur s, the dra in
pumps employed in your dishwashers are designed to automatically reverse, ejecting the
item bac k into the sump area or dow n the drain. If you have to remov e an obsta cl e from t he
drain pump, before you remove the filters, you should turn off the powe r; Then remove th e
small bla ck insert from the sumparea. (You might want to remove any standing water firs t).
Scoop out the item that is probably in the sump area and causes the obstruction. Remember
to re plac e the bla ck insert befor e you put the fil te rs back in.
How to Keep Your Dishwasher in Shape
After Every Wash
After every wash, turn off the water supply to the

How to Drain Excess Water
From Unicouple Hoses
If the sink is 34 or higher from the floor, the excesswater in Unicouple hoses
cannot be drained directly into the sink. It will be necessary to drain excess
water from hoses into a bowl or su itable container that is heldoutside and lower

Cold Water Connection
Connect the col d water supply hose to a thr ea ded 3/4(inc h) connector and make sure that it is
fastened tightly in place.
If the water pipes are ne w or hav e not bee n us ed for an extende d pe riod of time, let the water
run to make sure that the water is clear and free of impurities. If thi s precaution is not taken,
there is a risk tha t the water inl et can get blocked and damage the appliance.
Hot Water Connection
The water sup ply to the applia nce can also be connected to the house hot water line
(centralized system, heating system),as long as it doe s not exc ee d a temperature of 60 C.
In this cas e, t he wash cycle ti me will be shortene d by about 15 minutes and the wash
efficiency sli g htly reduced.
The connectio n must be made to the hot water line following the same procedures as those
for the connection to the cold water line.
