CanIuseAppliedVisionorVisionExplorerwiththe7700?
Ken-A-Vision'sAppliedVisionandVisionExplorersoftware
applicationsweredesignedforUSBcameras,andunfortunately
theycannot interfacedirectlywithnetwork cameras. However,if
youwishtoaddUSBconnectivitytoyour7700,youcan
purchaseourUSBAdapter(VFUSBAD2)whichwill allowyouto
connectthe analogoutputofthe7700 toyourcomputer,after
whichyouwillbeabletouseoursoftware.
CanIusethe7700onmydial-upInternetconnection?
No,werecommendahigh-speedbroadbandconnectionofatleast
128Kb/sec.
I'maccessing my7700remotelyovertheInternetandthevideostream
ischoppy,isthisnormal?
Yes. Theframespersecondreceivedremotelyaredetermined
byyourbandwidthcapabilitiesbothatyoursitewherethe7700
isinstalledandyourremotelocation.Thelowerofthe twosites
willdeterminehowfastyourvideostreamisreceived.Itis
recommendedto haveatleasta256Kb/secupstreamconnec-
tionfromthe sitewherethe 7700isinstalled.Lowerspeedswill
operateproperly,butprovidepoorremoteperformance.The
fastertheInternetconnectionatbothends, thefasterthevideo
stream.
CanIviewmultiplecamerasatonce?
Youcanviewmultiplecamerasonlyifyoupurchasethenew

When configuringyour7700,treatthe7700asanindependentnetworkdevice
(suchasanotherPC)onyournetwork.Youwillassignitanaddressandother
TCP/IPpropertiestomatchyourcurrentnetwork.
Thisstep-by-steptutorial will teachwhatIPaddressesandnetwork configurations
youshould assignyour7700baseduponyournetworkscenario.Ifyouplanto
usethe7700inthecontextofaLocalAreaNetwork,youwill needto useCase
A (mostcommonscenario). Ifyouconnectyour7700to arouterandhaveastat-
icIPaddressassignedfromyourInternetServiceProviderthatyouwishtouseto

1.Beforeyoubegin,ifyouareusingCaseBorC,youwill needto locate
anyinformationandsettingsthatyouhavereceivedfromyourInternet
ServiceProvider(ISP).YoumayneedtorefertotheseIPaddressesat
alatertimeduringtheconfiguration.
2.Youmustdeterminewhetherthe IPaddressthatyouwereassignedfrom
the ISPisSTATIC,DYNAMIC,orusingPPPoE.Youwillneedastatic
IPto usethe 7700overthe Internet,orelseyouwill needto useaDDNS
serviceforvideoservers(i.e. www.netcam4u.net).
3.Configureyour7700'sTCP/IPsettingsfornetworkconnectivityby
selectingAdministrationToolsfromthe maininterfaceandselecting
TCP/IPlocatedonthe leftofthe AdministrationToolsscreen.
4.IfpromptedforanIDandPassword, use"admin"forbothentries.
Thedefaultwebportnumberis80.IfyourISPblocksport80 youmust
useavaluebetween 1025-30000.PleaseconsultyourISPanddeter
