This
unit

powered

three
kinds
of
power
supplies;
batteries,
mains
power
or
car
battery.
(The
car
battery
adapter
is
needed
for
car
battery
operation.)
When
using
batteries,
use
alkaline
batteries
or
rechargeable
batteries.
This
unit
holds
the
stored
memory
even
while
the
power
is
set
to
OFF,
and
consumes
a
very
small
amount
of
power.
Therefore,
if
the
unit
is
not
to
be
used
for
along
period
(for
more
than
one
week),
remove
the
batteries
out
of the
unit.

Note on rechargeable batteries
{Commercially-available rechargeable batteries cannot be used with this unit.)
The rechargeable batteries should be recharged when they are used for the first time, when
they have not been used for a long period or when the battery indicator blinks. The fully-
charged status can be attained after about 3 (NB-100)/2 (NB-88/NB-77) hours of recharging. Be
sure to use the provided rechargeable batteries or the optional NB-100/NB-88/NB-77. Never
use rechargeable batteries other than specified.

® Recharging is not possible during playback. Be sure to
set the power OFF before starting recharging.
* The rechargeable batteries can be recharged and re-
used for around 500 times. When the possible play-
back period decreases, purchase the optional NB-100/
NB-88/NB-77 rechargeable batteries.
« Be sure to close the ton caver of the unit before
proceeding to recharging.

* lf batteries are recharged before they are completely
empty, full charging may become impossible due to
the properties of rachargeable batteries. If this occurs,
try to recharge batteries after they have become emp-

* Rechargeable batteries cannot be recharged while the
external battery case is attached.
* Do not attach the battery case during recharging.

(1) Remove the cover of the battery :

(2) Insert alkaline batteries (LR6}.
* Be careful not to invert the @ and © polarity.
(4) Attach to the main unit.
Secure by turning the screw in the direction
of the arrow.
If the battery case is not to be used for a long period,
detach it from the main unit. Otherwise, the power of
the LR6-size dry cell batteries will be recharged to the
rechargeable batteries and the dry cell battery will be
exhausted quickly.
Also remove the dry cell batteries from the battery
case.
