IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – SUBWOOFER ACTIVE VERSION
Please read all instructions carefully and completely before operating
your active Enigma Veyron Subwoofer.
1. Always disconnect AC power before connecting or
disconnecting any cables, or when cleaning any component
2. This product uses a three conductor power cord, which in
cludes an earth-ground connection. To prevent shock hazard,
always connect it directly to a grounded outlet.
3. Never use any AC extension cord with this product.
4. Never use ammable or combustible chemicals for cleaning
audio components.
5. Never operate this product with any covers removed.
6. Never wet the inside of this product with any liquid.
7. Never pour or spill liquids directly onto this unit.
8. Never block air ow through ventilation slots or heat sinks.
9. Never bypass any fuse.
10. Never replace any fuse with a value or type other than specied.
11. Never attempt to repair this product yourself. If a problem
occurs, contact your Kharma dealer.
12. Never expose this unit to extremely high or low temperatures.
13. Never operate this product in an explosive atmosphere.
14. Always keep electrical equipment out of the reach of children.
15. Always consider manual and safety instructions in any end use
application.
Safety instructions
Before connecting this product to an AC power line, verify if the
voltage of the amplier matches the AC line voltage where the unit will
be operated. Never attempt to operate or connect this product to an
AC line voltage that is different from the one to which the amplier is
set. Using a different setting can damage the unit and will void your
warranty!

Congratulations,
You are now the owner of the Kharma Enigma Subwoofer. with integrated
DSP. Your new subwoofer, properly installed, will give you all the satisfaction
and enjoyment you expect from Kharma.
As with any high quality product, special care must be taken to install your
subwoofer. Please read this manual carefully and totally prior to installation.

Above and beyond imagination has always been the core value of Kharma,
which now results in the Kharma Enigma Veyron line. Charles van Oosterum
has created the Enigma Veyron line on his journey to create the ultimate
audio experience. He has combined technology, experience and knowledge
to uplift sound representation to an unknown level of synergy.
The Kharma Enigma Veyron line is the most advanced audio line in the
world realizing the Holy Grail in the High-end audio. To create a new level
of sound quality and truly offer superior technology that would push the
limits of current dynamic loudspeakers was not an easy task. This time
fully new engineered Kharma drivers are the basis of the Enigma Veyron
loudspeakers, as well as a new cabinet, materials, internal cable technology
and more. We decided to offer the whole package to drive the full Enigma
Veyron as well. New wide band linear power amps, a complete new
touchscreen operated pre-amp, App controlled subwoofer management
and massive power distributors as well as a diamond suspended audio
rack were developed. Hence many exciting innovations were developed by
Kharma to create this unique audio system.
The bass and midrange section of the Veyron loudspeakers are formed
by the exclusive Kharma Omega F Drivers. The F stands for 0-Foucault
currents, which is a novelty in the audio world, because for the rst time no
iron is used in the magnet motor-system, avoiding any interaction. Normally
the voice coil induces a Foucault-current into the iron parts and that current
induces back distortion into the driver-coil which will distort the original
signal by denition. This is now completely gone and the result is a higher
resolution, more micro-dynamics, more macro-dynamics, faster transients,
more richer spectrum of tonal variations from the music itself, more natural
sounding, more explosive sounding, more realistic sounding.

The Enigma Veyron line has magical physical dimensions, which are as
impressive as the musical performance the products have to offer. The
loudspeaker cabinets are constructed from thick Bullet wood panels and
the audio rack and electronics from 38 mm thick aluminium plates. Although
the constructions are massive but elegant, all components are decoupled
from the surrounding by a minimum contact surface created with Tungsten
balls placed on Diamonds. The combination of the hardness, shape and
acoustical properties of the materials used, realize the ultimate freedom of
resonances.
Kharma has pushed the limits for each component of the Enigma Veyron
line. The sound representation and aesthetical beauty is overwhelming and
certainly beyond imagination.

Each crate contains:

* Dependent on your subwoofer conguration, the crate contains the
bottom level or top level of the Enigma Veyron Subwoofer.
** The bottom level of the subwoofer will be equipped with a stand disc
with triple Diamonds. This is to prevent the Diamond discs to crack under
the total weight of the subwoofers. The other level will have a stand disc
with single Diamond

Opening the crate
Upon opening the crate, inspect the crate carefully for any sign of
transport damage. If there is damage, immediately call your dealer or
the trucking rm that made the delivery. Do not delay in reporting the
damage. Please store the crates for future use.

Step 2: Remove the Stand discs
The stand discs will be executed with a single or triple Diamond,
dependent on the conguration of the subwoofer. The Tungsten Balls are
packed separately, where the Diamond discs are already placed in the
aluminium discs. Please prepare the discs as shown on page 8.

The openings underneath the subwoofer can be used in combination
with a hoist structure. Please always use protective foam between the lift
construction and subwoofer.

The Enigma Veyron Subwoofer consists out of modular levels. Each
level should be positioned carefully and precise. All levels will have to be
placed on Diamond discs, which have a small surface and can not handle
high impact.
Step 1: Place subwoofer carefully on Diamond Stands.
When two subwoofers will be stacked upon each other, please use the
triple diamond stand for the bottom level. When only a single subwoofer
is placed, only a single Diamond stand is required.
Note: When only a single subwoofer is placed, the installation is nished.

Important The Diamond discs may not be exposed to high impact. The Diamonds
can only handle continuous load.
Important Make sure you put the tungsten balls on the Diamond discs before
lowering the subwoofer on the stands.

Step 2: Assemble stands for second level
A second subwoofer can be placed on top of the bottom level by
screwing the Diamond Stands (delivered with the second level) on the
bottom level.
Important
Although the Diamond stands have a oor protector with felt for the
bottom level, do not try to reposition the subwoofer after placing the
subwoofer on the Diamond discs. The discs should be removed again
before repositioning.

Step 3: Place new level
Now the second subwoofer can slowly be lowered on top of the Diamond
Stands.
Important Make sure you put the tungsten balls on the Diamond discs before
lowering the subwoofer on the stands.

At the rear of the Enigma Veyron Subwoofer the connector plate can be
found.
BE CAREFUL to connect your power cord to a 115V or 230V power source
depending on the conguration of the subwoofer! If you are not sure about
the voltage to which your subwoofer is congured please contact your
dealer. DO NOT switch on the power until all wiring is connected correctly!
The subwoofer power inlet is supplied with a gold plated copper isolator. For
the best sound quality it is preferred to leave this isolator on the subwoofer.
However some power cords are too big and make it impossible to use the
isolator.

Operation Button
LED indicator
Important to determine before powering up the subwoofer is if the internal
DSP needs to be switched on or off.
• Internal DSP on: The left and right input of the DSP can be used and
the LAN connection must be connected to the network to control the
DSP parameters.
• Internal DSP off: The power of the internal DSP will be switched off
and now only the direct input can be used, which feeds the signal
directly to the amplier. In this way the subwoofer can be made slave
to an external DSP or another subwoofer.
Below an example of a master / slave conguration. In a rooms set-up
with multiple subwoofers this can ease the tuning process, because only
the DSP of the master subwoofer has to be congured. Please limit the
number of slave subwoofers to a maximum of 2.

Powering the subwoofer
Connect a power-cord to the power-module on the back of the subwoofer.
Switch on the subwoofer using the red button. The subwoofer is on when
the red button is lit.
Always turn off the power of your entire system before making
connections to the subwoofer or switching the internal DSP. It is advised
to turn off the subwoofers when not used for a long time e.g. during
holidays.
Activating the subwoofer
At the front of the subwoofer a trapezium button with LED indication can
be found. When the power switch at the back of the subwoofer is turned
on, the button illustrated below, will turn orange.
To activate the subwoofer press the button (for less then one second).
It will take a few seconds before the LED indicator will turn blue and the
subwoofer is in operating mode.
When you want to put the subwoofer back in ‘standby’ mode, keep the
button pressed till the indicator light turns to orange. Please only use the
power switch at the back side when it will not be used for a longer time.

Muting the subwoofer
The trapezium button can also be used as a mute button. Hold down the
button for less then one second. The indicator light will turn to green. The
subwoofer will remain fully operational, only the sound is turned off. To
turn off the mute function, simply press the button again.
Fault conditions
There are three fault conditions that can occur. The indicator light will show
the fault condition with a particular colour.
• When the indicator light turns red, the maximum current limit is crossed.
The reason for this can be a short circuit or just playing to loud.
• When the indicator light turns purple a DC-current is detected and the
amplier turns off to protect the subwoofer.
• When the indicator light turns white, the main power is lost or below the
necessary voltage for a short period of time.
When an error occurs the subwoofer will stay locked in error detected mode
and the subwoofer must be reset using the power switch at the back. There
is a time delay on this switch to prevent switching the amplier on/off too
fast.
Panic button
The power switch on the backside can always be used as a panic button.
In case of emergency simply use the switch and the subwoofer will turn off
completely.

The trapezium button will not change the operation mode of the internal
DSP. The operation mode of the internal DSP can only be changed via
the iPad app or with the switch on the connector plate of the subwoofer.
Please only use this switch when the subwoofer is turned off.

LAN Connection
The Enigma Veyron Subwoofer can be controlled wireless with the iPad
app: Kharma Control. Therefore the iPad must be on the same network as
the subwoofer.
Hence the LAN connector on the connector plate of the subwoofer should
be connected to the same router / switch that provides the Wi signal used
on the iPad. If this is not the case, the app will not recognize the internal
DSP.
When you have problems with the network conguration, it is also an
option to set-up a standalone network especially intended to control the
subwoofer with the iPad. The easiest set-up is illustrated on the next page.
When you still have problems with connecting to your subwoofer, please
consult the Authorized Kharma-dealer from whom you have purchased the
system.
