BASIC OPERATION
Fine adjustments
SIDE A CONTROLS SIDE B CONTROLS
The Vibe-1968 has internal controls for input impedance, mix and volume.
Open the back of the pedal and adjust the volume trimmer pot to your desired setting,
this is a set-and-forget setting and shouldn't need to be changed once you have it set.
The input impedance trimmer pot lets you adjust whether the vibe sounds like a vintage 1968 vibe with a dark
warm tone or a modern vibe with a sparkling clear tone.
The control can be set anywhere between these two settings to dial in the exact tone you want.
There is also a mix control that blends between the vibe effected tone and the clean tone. We have set this
for maximum depth and throb, you can adjust this for more warble and frequency shift if you prefer.
You don’t normally need to adjust this setting.
The Vibe-1968 has been designed to accurately recreate the classic vibe tones of the 60s and
70s. Side A and B are independent of each other. When changing channels the Vibe-1968 will
ramp between all settings to give a smooth transition between sounds.

HOW TO ADJUST THE BULB
Holding down the “Channel” Foot-Switch
allows you to access the ‘Alt’ Controls.
They are Symmetry and Bulb, shown
here in red. To make a change to these
settings do the following:
Hold the ‘Channel’ Foot-Switch, make the
adjustment to Symmetry or/and Bulb,
release the Foot-Switch. To retain the
setting, press the bypass Foot-Switch.
HOW TO ADJUST THE SYMMETRY
The symmetry control lets you smoothly adjust
the symmetry of the waveform that controls the
bulb brightness. Turning the control below the
halfway mark making the wave more pulse-like
which is great for ‘throb” type tones. Moving
the control above halfway gives you a long
slow wave which only briefly dips, this produc-
es a very smooth and chewy vibe effect.
Hold the ‘Channel’ Foot-Switch, make the
adjustment to Symmetry or/and Bulb, release
the Foot-Switch. To retain the setting, press
the bypass Foot-Switch.
BULB and SYMMETRY controls
Vibe guitar pedals use a bulb to control the photocells which in turn effects the speed and depth of the vibe. The
way the bulb is set has a strong influence on the type of tone the vibe produces. This is one of the reasons Vibe
pedals all sound different. The Vibe-1968 has a ‘Bulb’ control on the front panel, this allows you to dial in an exact
bulb setting, shifting the overall type of tone of the Vibe-1968. Furthermore the Bulb setting for side A and B can
be set independently, so you can shift from a classic throb or chewy type vibe tone to an almost wah-like or even
rotary speaker sounds just by switching channels.
DEFAULT SETTING:
To set the ‘Bulb’ to the default setting for side A or B do the following:
1. Set the ‘Depth’ to zero on the channel you want to adjust
2. Press and hold the ‘Channel’ Foot-Switch
3. Adjust the ‘Bulb’ control until you hear the darkest tone, this will be near the middle of the dial
4. Release the Foot-Switch.
5. To retain the setting, press the bypass Foot-Switch.
DEFAULT SETTING:
To set the ‘Symmetry’ to the default setting for side A or B do the following:
1. Press and hold the ‘Channel’ Foot-Switch
3. Adjust the ‘Symmetry’ control to the middle of the dial, 12 O’clock position
4. Release the Foot-Switch.
5. To retain the setting, press the bypass Foot-Switch.

POWERING THE VIBE-1968
The Vibe-1968 must be powered from an isolated 18v DC supply of 100ma or more. Before you plug the
Vibe-1968 in make sure that it is 18v DC, using a power-supply that delivers 18v AC will damage the unit. Failure
to use an isolated supply could cause unwanted noise, so make sure it is isolated.

PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL
PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL
Using a non isolated power supply and sharing it with other pedals can cause unwanted noise and is not recommended
This wont cause damage to the pedal but if you encounter unwanted noise, switch to an isolated supply
Using an isolated power supply is an ideal setup and will keep noise from other pedals away from the vibe and vice versa
Using a single power supply will provide ideal power for the vibe
The white “ON” LED will flash if the power supply is
the incorrect voltage. This means you are either
using a 9v or 12v DC power supply or that the 18v
power supply is not suppling enough current, if this
is the case make sure the power supply will supply
at least 100ma at 18vDC. You can also power the
vibe using a voltage doubler cable, this uses two
isolated 9v outputs to give you 18v.

HOW TO USE AN EXPRESSION PEDAL
SETUP the expression pedal
EXPRESSION MODES
1. Remove the DC power
2. Hold both foot switches
3. Plug in DC power and release both foot switches
4. Select the desired option
5. If needed, calibrate the expression pedal
by rocking it back and forth
6. Press the bypass foot switch to save settings
To use an expression pedal use the correct adapter
cable, remove the DC cable, hold both foot switches
and plug in the DC cable. This will allow you to then
select the desired function for the expression pedal.
Using an external expression pedal
The Vibe-1968 accepts any standard 10k expression pedal. Using an external expression pedal allows you to
control the speed, bulb, change channels or even do both. You can also plug in external switches to control the
speed or speed and bypass of the pedal, this allow you to store the Vibe-1968 in a pedal rack unit and control it
externally, either with a pedal switcher or a passive on/off switch.

And you can set this to zero if you want an instant change. You can also adjust the global depth of the Vibe-1968.
There is also an internal trimmer that allows you set to the input impedance anywhere between vintage, which gives
you a dark classic tone, all the way to modern which is bright and airy sounding.
When in the secret menu, set all controls to full and
