− Only connect the cooktop to a wall socket. Do not connect
it to an adaptor and share a socket with other appliances.
− Never use the cooktop if the surface is cracked.
− Do not use the cooktop if the housing or cord is defective
or has other visible damages. In the event of damage,
only have the cooktop serviced by the manufacturer, its
customer service team or a similarly qualified person to
avoid risks.
− Never open the housing of the cooktop.
− Do not allow objects to fall onto the cooktop.
− Never try to repair the cooktop yourself. All repairs must be
carried out solely by a qualified electrician.
− Make sure no foreign objects penetrate into the housing of
the cooktop.
− Keep the cooktop, cord and plug away from water and
other fluids.
− Do not touch the plug of the cooktop with wet hands.
− Always pull the plug and not the cord to disconnect the
cooktop from the socket.

− If you do not intend to use the cooktop for an extended
period of time, disconnect it from the power source. The
cooktop is only completely without current when the
power plug has been pulled out of the socket.
− Do not modify the plug in any way. The cooktop has a
polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will only fit into
a polarized outlet one way. If the plug does not fit in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician.
− Always plug the cord into the wall outlet first, before you
turn on the cooktop. To disconnect all power, switch off
the cooktop first and then remove the plug from the wall
outlet.

derstand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user main-
tenance shall not be made by children unless they are
older than 8 and supervised.
− Make sure that children cannot pull the cooktop off the
work surface by means of the power cord.
− Keep the cooktop and its cord out of reach of children
aged less than 8 years. Children should be supervised to

− Do not use the cooktop outdoors or in areas with high
humidity.
− Do not leave the cooktop unattended during use.
− Do not place the cooktop near the edge of the working
surface.
− Place the cooktop only on a dry, stable, flat and heat-
resistant surface. Do not place it directly on carpets or
tablecloth.
− Do not block the air intake or exhaust vents.
− Do not place the cooktop on or near a hot gas or electric
burner, in a heated oven or near any other heat sources.
− Always leave a gap of approximately 4 inches around the
exterior of the cooktop during use.
− Never use the cooktop near curtains, walls, under cup-
boards or near other flammable materials.
− Do not use the cooktop with an external timer or a
separate remote control system.
− Do not make any modifications to the cooktop nor use any

damages to them.
− If necessary, place a hard, non-slip mat underneath the
cooktop. As furniture is coated with various varnishes
and plastics and may be treated with different cleaning
products, it cannot be completely ruled out that some of
these substances contain components which may attack
and soften the rubber feet.

Burn/fire hazard!
The cooktop may cause burns if you come into direct contact
with it.
Checking the cooktop and package contents
1. Take the cooktop out of the packaging and check whether the cooktop or
the individual parts have any damages. If this is the case, do not use the
cooktop. Contact the manufacturer using the service address specified on
the warranty card.
2. Check to make sure that all contents have been received (see Fig. A).
Preparation for use
1. While the cooktop is disconnected from the power supply, wipe the glass
surface 1and cooking surface 2with a damp cloth or sponge to re-
move any dust that has accumulated during transport and storage. Dry
thoroughly.
2. Place the cooktop on a flat, dry and heat-resistant surface.
3. Plug the power cord 3into an appropriate socket. You will hear a signal
sound, indicating the cooktop has been connected to the power supply.
4. Fill a pot with water and place it on the cooking surface.
5. Press the On/Off button 14 to switch the cooktop on and let it heat up the
water in the pot. This can help to burn off any manufacturing residues.

NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
To avoid overheating and damages:
− Do not block the air intake or exhaust vents located at the
rear and bottom sides of the cooktop.
− Always leave a gap of approximately 4 inches around the
exterior of the cooktop during use.
− Always clean the glass and cooking surfaces before
use. Do not place towels, aluminum foils or other similar
objects between the cooktop and cookware during use.
Choice of pots and pans
Only use pots and pans which are suitable for the
