Safety Instructions
1. Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions
should be read before the product is operated.
2. Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should
be retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the product and in the operating
instructions should be adhered to.
4. Follow Instructions - All operating and use instructions should
be followed.
5. Cleaning - Unplug this product from the power outlet before
cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
6. Water and Moisture - Do not use this product near water - for
example, near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub;
in a wet basement; or near a swimming pool; and the like. These
precautions also apply to the power cord.
7. Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart,
stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing seri-
ous injury to a child or adult and serious damage to the product.
Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended
by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of
the product should follow manufacturer’s instructions and should
use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
8. Ventilation - This unit may be equipped with slots and openings
in the cabinet (housing) which are provided for ventilation and
to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from
overheating and these openings must not be blocked or covered.
The openings should never be blocked by placing the product
on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This product should
be not placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or
rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s
instructions have been adhered to. For products equipped with a
separate power supply unit, leave at least 5cm (2in.) of free space
on all sides and the top of the power supply.
9. Power Sources - This product should be operated only from the
type of power source indicated on the marking label (placed on
the product and/or, if applicable, on a separate power supply
unit). If you are not sure of the type of power supply in your home,
consult your product dealer or local power company. For products
intended to operate from battery power or other sources, refer to
the operating instructions.
10. Grounding and Polarity - some units for proper operation or
to take full advantage of their capabilities may require to be
connected to a grounded power outlet – refer to the user manual
for more information.
Some units may have markings for the live (L) and neutral (N)
conductors for power - in order to take full advantage of capa-
bilities of such products, it is recommended to properly connect
the polarity according to the markings on the unit - refer to the
user manual for more information. Connecting the polarity not in
accordance with the markings will not aect the durability and
reliability of the device.
11. Power-cord Protection - Power supply cords should be routed
so that the are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords
at plugs, convenience receptacles and the point where they exit
from the product.
12. Lighting - For added protection for this product during a lighting
storm or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods
of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna
or system cables. This will prevent damage to the product due to
lighting and power-line surges.
13. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords or
integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire
or electric shock.
14. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this
product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage
points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric
shock. Do not expose this apparatus to dripping or splashing and
ensure that no objects filled with water, such as vases are placed
on the apparatus.
15. Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself as
opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous
voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
16. Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this product from wall outlet
and refer servicing to qualified personnel under the following
conditions:
• when power supply cord or plug is damaged;
• if liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the product;
• if the product does not operate normally by following the oper-
ating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by
the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other
controls may result in damage and will require extensive work
by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal
operation;
• if the product has been dropped or damaged in any way;
• if the product exhibits a distinct change in performance - this
indicates a need for a service.
17. Replacement Parts - when replacement parts are required, be
sure the technician has used replacement parts specified by the
manufacturer or with the same characteristics as the original
part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock
or other hazards.
18. Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this
product, ask the service technician to perform safety check to
determine that the products is in proper operating condition.
19. Wall of ceiling mounting - The product should be mounted to a
wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.
20. Heat - The product should be situated away from heat sources
such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other products (includ-
ing amplifiers) that produce heat.
21. [Refer to products equipped with vacuum tubes] Tube Cage or
cover - For your safety and to protect the vacuum tubes this
product may be equipped with the factory installed vacuum tube
cage or cover.
It is not recommended to remove the cage or cover unless it is
required to change the vacuum tubes.
When the cage or cover is removed - do not touch the vacuum
tubes - they may be hot and burn the skin!
22. Operating Environment - Operating environment temperature and
humidity of the unit: +5°C to +35°C (+41°F to +95°F); less than
85% RH (cooling slots not blocked).

Please take a while to read this instruction - it contains useful information to ensure to
get the best sound and satisfaction from your subwoofer.

KODA subwoofers are nished with high quality, very durable and aesthetic materials –
to keep them like that for many years please follow the below instructions:
• To clean, use a soft, damp cloth (please disconnect the subwoofer from the power
supply).
• Do not use strong or abrasive cleaners.
• Avoid moisture.

Placement
The placement of the subwoofer in the room is not so critical as for speakers but there are general
guidelines as shown below:
Placing the subwoofer
in the center of the room
usually gives less bass but
with better precision and
denition.
Placing the subwoofer near
the walls usually gives more
bass with quite good preci-
sion and denition.
Placing the subwoofer in the
corners usually gives much
amount of bass but with
less precision and denition.
Note! If it is possible we recommend to place the subwoofer between the front speakers close to
the wall for better integration with your sound system.
Note! Final placement depends on your sound system, room acoustics and space, and your
listening preferences.

Before connecting make sure that all external equipment and this subwoofer are turned o󰀨.
Otherwise you may damage this subwoofer and / or external equipment.
This may void your warranty.
Note! This subwoofer is provided with a power cord (or it may be permanently integrated
[attached] to the unit) and a single RCA subwoofer cable.

CONNECTION TO AN AMPLIFIER / AV RECEIVER / AV PROCESSOR
Rear Panel / Connection / Operation
I. Connection using LFE(SUB OUT) subwoofer output
This connection is recommended if your audio equipment (amplier, AV receiver, AV processor
etc.) is equipped with a single ltered RCA subwoofer output (usually marked as LFE, SUB OUT,
SUBWOOFER etc.).
There are 2 options of connection:
a) Using a single RCA subwoofer cable - connect the LFE output to the R/SW or L socket (1) on
the rear of the subwoofer.
b) Using an Y-type subwoofer cable (1xRCA to 2xRCA) - connect the 1xRCA plug to the LFE
output and the 2xRCA plugs to the R/SW and L sockets (1) on the rear of the subwoofer.
Note! The Y type connection increases the bass output of the subwoofer by a few decibels.
II. Connection using stereo RCA OUTPUT (L/R)
If your audio equipment is not equipped with a ltered LFE(SUB OUT) subwoofer output then you
can use regular stereo RCA outputs (non-ltered).
There are 2 options of connection:
a) Using a pair of RCA subwoofer cable - connect the L/R RCA outputs of your audio equipment to
the R/SW and L sockets (1) on the rear of the subwoofer.
b) Using an Y-type subwoofer cable (1xRCA to 2xRCA) - connect the 2xRCA plugs to the L/R
RCA outputs of your audio equipment and the 1xRCA plug to the R/SW or L socket (1) on the rear
of the subwoofer.

Choose one of the following connection methods.
I-a) Single RCA-RCA cable
AV receiver, amplier, etc.
LFE (SUB OUT) single RCA output
I-b) „Y” type RCA cable (2xRCA ←1xRCA)
AV receiver, amplier, etc.
L/R RCA outputs
II-a) Pair of RCA-RCA cables
AV receiver, amplier, etc.
L/R RCA outputs
II-b) „Y” type RCA cable (1xRCA ← 2xRCA)

2. PC INPUT
CONNECTION USING 3.5MM OUTPUT
If your audio equipment is not equipped with outputs specied in point 1 and is equipped with
a 3.5mm line output then using a 3.5mm jack cable connect this output to the PC socket (2) on
the rear of the subwoofer.
3. VOLUME (SUBWOOFER LEVEL) REGULATOR
Adjust the subwoofer level (volume) from minimum (the regulator – max counterclockwise) to
maximum (the regulator – max clockwise).
Distortion and sound quality worsening may occur when the regulator is in the maximum
position. It may damage the subwoofer. This may void your warranty.
4. CROSSOVER FREQUENCY (CUT-OFF FREQUENCY) REGULATOR
CROSSOVER regulator – it allows the adjustment of the low-pass lter.
The adjustment can be smoothly made between the frequency ranges marked on the rear
panel below this regulator. The setting will determine the highest frequency that the subwoofer
will reproduce.
Adjust the CROSSOVER regulator until the frequency range of the subwoofer blends well with
that of the front speakers.
Setting the crossover at the too low level will create a gap between the frequency response of
the front speakers and the subwoofer.
Setting the crossover frequency too high will cause that certain frequencies will be duplicated or
o󰀨set.
5. PHASE REGULATOR
Helps to fully integrate the subwoofer with the rest of your sound system.
When you hear that the subwoofer bass is weak or o󰀨set, it may mean that the subwoofer
works out-of-phase – try to change the phase using this regulator.
6. HIGH LEVEL INPUT
You can use regular speaker cables to connect the subwoofer with your audio equipment
(amplier / receiver / AV processor etc.) – this process is the same as connecting speakers and
you can use bare speaker cables as well as most of popular plugs (banana etc.).
Using the speaker cables connect speaker output connectors located on your audio equipment
to the HIGH LEVEL INPUT connectors on the rear of the subwoofer (Left with Left, Right with
Right).
Pay attention to connecting the polarity of the audio equipment correctly with the subwoofer in
each speaker connector group (the subwoofer should be connected RED + with RED + audio
equipment connector, BLACK – with BLACK – audio equipment connector).
Please refer to your speaker and amplier / receiver instruction manual for more information
about connecting speaker cables.

Do not let bare speaker wires touch each other or any metal part of this unit it may damage
the unit and / or external equipment. This may void your warranty.
7. POWER INDICATOR
It will be illuminated when the subwoofer is turned on.
8. POWER INPUT or POWER CORD*
*For products which have a power cord permanently integrated [attached].
Connect the power cord to the Power Input (does not apply to products with an integrated
power cord) and into the wall electrical outlet.
9. POWER SWITCH (1 - ON AND 0 - OFF)
Turn on the subwoofer – press the POWER switch to 1. The Power Indicator will be illuminated.
If it is otherwise turn o󰀨 the subwoofer and check the cables and connections.
It is recommended to turn o󰀨 (POWER switch to 0-OFF) the subwoofer and disconnect the
power cord from the power outlet when when the subwoofer will not be used for a longer
period of time.
STEPS TO PROVIDE THE BEST BASS QUALITY
Getting the full potential of the subwoofer requires careful listening tests to nd the best settings
for your audio system.
The subwoofer should not attract or distract the listener and at the same time the bass should not
be too weak or too strong. The bass should add „weight” to the audio system.
I. The setting procedure outlined below allows you to adjust the KODA subwoofer to work with
your speakers. Once you set the parameters of the subwoofer, you will not have to repeat these
steps again - you can use BASS and LOUDNESS regulators (or change setting of an equalizer
or a DSP processor) in your amplier / AV receiver to increase or decrease a level and amount of
bass.
II. Each room has di󰀨erent acoustic characteristic.
Therefore, the best way to correct the subwoofer settings is a method of experimentation.

Steps
• Use recordings of music or a movie soundtrack which you know well and which contain the
extended bass that is repeated or continuous.
• Choose the placement for the subwoofer.
• Connect the subwoofer according to a chosen option.
• Set all sound regulations of your amplier, AV receiver or an equalizer to FLAT (0) and turn o󰀨
the loudness.
• Ask someone (assistant) to adjusting subwoofer regulations while you will be sitting in your
normal listening position.
Bass balance control
A. Start the playback.
B. Set the subwoofer level control (Volume) to MIN.
C.Set the subwoofer cut-o󰀨 frequency (Crossover) to MIN.
D.Ask your assistant to adjust the settings of the subwoofer according to the following guidelines:
• Slowly turn the Volume regulator clockwise until you set the level of bass at a approximate level
as of midrange and high frequencies in your speakers.
• Deep bass should be clear and clean but not outstanding.
• Slowly turn the Crossover regulator clockwise until you hear the best sound of the medium
bass. If the sound is too weak or boomy it means that you should stop adjustments.
Try to get the best balance.
Phase
Some subwoofer placements in the room may cause frequency phase shifts.
If the bass is too weak and the sound is incorrectly located then try to change the phase.
The speakers and subwoofer will sound in the best way when they are in-phase - it means that the
movement of their drivers should be synchronized.
To check your subwoofer phase:
A. Set the subwoofer Phase regulator to 0º.
B. Play music with lots of bass and ask your an assistant to start slowly and steady turning the
Phase regulator clockwise. The correct setting is the one that yields more bass.
You may have to try di󰀨erent recordings before you hear any di󰀨erence and it might be helpful
turning up the subwoofer volume level for this test.
If you do not hear any di󰀨erence between the 0º and 180º settings leave the Phase in the 0º
position.

Power transformer – Power lters and conditioners
It is a normal phenomenon that the power transformer of this device may generate a certain amo-
unt of audible noise.
Very loud operation of the power transformer may be caused by low quality of power supply (vol-
tage surges etc.).
In such a case, we suggest using a power lter or conditioner - you can also try to power this pro-
duct from a di󰀨erent power line than other devices (e.g. from a power outlet in another room)

1. Przeczytaj instrukcję - wszystkie informacje dotyczące bezpie-
czeństwa powinny być przeczytane przed obsługą.
2. Zachowaj instrukcję - instrukcje dotyczące bezpieczeństwa
powinny zostać zachowane do wglądu.
3. Zastosowanie ostrzeżeń - wszystkie uwagi dotyczące bezpieczeń-
stwa powinny być bezwzględnie stosowane.
4. Przestrzeganie instrukcji - wszystkie instrukcje dotyczące obsługi
i sposobu użycia powinny być przestrzegane.
5. Czyszczenie - odłącz urządzenie od gniazda zasilania przed
czyszczeniem. Nie używaj płynów lub aerozoli. Przetrzyj suchą,
miękką szmatką.
6. Woda i wilgoć - nie ustawiaj urządzenia w pobliżu wody – na
przykład blisko wanny, kabiny prysznicowej, kuchennego zlewu,
pralki, w wilgotnej piwnicy lub w pobliżu basenu itp. Te środki
ostrożności dotyczą również kabla (przewodu) zasilania.
7. Akcesoria - nie umieszczaj urządzenia na niestabilnej powierzch-
ni stołu, stojaka lub innych powierzchni. Produkt może upaść,
powodując obrażenia dziecka lub dorosłego oraz poważne
uszkodzenia urządzenia. Używaj tylko ze stolikami, mocowaniami
dostarczanymi razem z urządzeniem lub zalecanymi przez produ-
centa. Każdy sposób montażu urządzenia powinien być zgodny
z instrukcją i wykorzystywać akcesoria montażowe dostarczane
przez producenta.
8. Wentylacja – jeżeli urządzenie posiada otwory wentylacyjne
powinny one mieć zapewnioną odpowiednią przestrzeń
umożliwiając odpowiednie odprowadzanie ciepła. Otwory nie
powinny być blokowane przez umieszczanie urządzenia na łóżku,
kanapie, dywanie itp. Urządzenie nie powinno być instalowane
w miejscach nie zapewniających odpowiedniej instalacji takich
jak regał na książki - chyba, że zostanie zapewniona odpowiednia
wentylacja.
Dla produktów wyposażonych w oddzielny zasilacz należy
pozostawić co najmniej 5 cm wolnej przestrzeni ze wszystkich
bocznych stron i górnej części zasilacza.
9. Źródła zasilania - urządzenie powinno być zasilane wyłącznie
ze źródeł o napięciu sieciowym wyszczególnionym na etykiecie
umieszczonej na produkcie i/lub, jeżeli jest na wyposażeniu, od-
dzielnym zasilaczu. Jeśli nie jesteś pewien źródła w swoim domu,
skonsultuj się z lokalnym dostawcą lub dealerem w salonie. Dla
urządzeń zasilanych z baterii lub innych źródeł zapoznaj się z
