reduced psychological and mental capabilities or persons with inadequate knowledge
and experience if under supervision or properly briefed on the safe use of equipment
and they fully understand the hazards.
oChildren are not allowed to play with the appliance.
oWithout supervision, children are neither allowed to clean the appliance nor perform
any maintenance works
oThe appliance shall only be used in accordance with its purpose as described in this
manual. Use no additional connectors not recommended by the manufacturer.
oDo never dispose or insert objects in the openings.
oThe appliance shall never operate without the protective grille above the suction inlet.
oThe appliance may only be connected to power grid protected by a 30mA FID IΔN
protective switch for fault currents. The FID switch is intended to interrupt both phase
and neutral conductors, should the incoming current in the phase conductor not be
equal to the outgoing current in the neutral conductor.
oThe whirlpool shall be permanently connected to the power grid - connecting to a
socket is NOT PERMITTED. This circuit must also be provided a multi-polar switch by
means of which it can be switched off. The appliance for the separation of all phases
from the power grid shall be integrated in the electrical wiring in accordance with the
valid national provisions on wiring.
oThe power supply shall be secured by means of a 16A (3,5kW) fuse. Cross section of

connected at the connection point to assure equation of potentials, as
shown by the symbol on the right:
oMove the bathtub only by holding its edge, not pipes or wires.
oA too long retention in hot water may cause hyperthermia. This incurs when the
internal body temperature significantly exceeds its normal temperature of 37°C.
Symptoms of hyperthemia include increased internal body temperature, vertigo,
lethargy, drowsiness and fainting. The effects of hyperthermia include inability to
sense heat, not feeling the need to leave the hot tub, not being aware of the
impending danger, possible risk to the fetus in pregnant women, physical exhaustion,
and loss of consciousness, which all may lead to drowning.
oThe use of alcohol, drugs or medication before or during the use of whirlpool, can

WHIRLPOOL CLEANING and MAINTENANCE:
oWithout supervision, children are neither allowed to clean the appliance nor
perform any maintenance works
oOnce the massage cycle is completed, use a jet of clean water to rinse the whirlpool
and remove any particles that could possibly clog the openings in the massage jets.
Use a clean cloth to wipe the chrome parts.
oWe recommend using THE KOLPA SAN MASSAGE SYSTEM DISINFECTANT to
disinfect massage system.
Fill the tub by some water reaching a level just above the nozzles and turn the
massage jets downwards.
Pour the measured amount of the massage system disinfectant in the water. Turn on
the water massage system and allow it to operate for 2-3 minutes. Leave the water
stand in the bath for at least 5 minutes before release. To intensify the cleaning effect,
leave that water with disinfectant for 6-12 hours in the tub. By using clean water, rinse
thoroughly the bathtub including the massage system piping. The easiest way to rinse
the massage system piping is to fill the tub with clean water and turn on the massage
pumps. Repeat the procedure until water coming out from the nozzles is clean.
oRepeat the procedure using disinfectant as many times as necessary.
oUse only liquid cleansers and soft cloth. To clean other acrylic surfaces and remove
limescale we recommend the SPECIAL KOLPA SAN CLEANER.
Spray the special cleaner on the surface or use a sponge to apply and then leave it for
some time to work.Use clean water to rinse and wipe the shiny surfaces of controls.
oAlternatively you may use your ordinary household vinegar to remove lime scale. Heat
it up to increase its efficiency.
oIt is prohibited to use abrasive cleaners containing rough fillers.
oDo not use any oils, bathing accessories, honey, flowers or similar in whirlpool.
Danger of clogging of motor and micro-nozzles.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
For transport, your whirlpool is fully protected in a cardboard
box and forms a unit together with the wooden palette.
Figure 1
Take the tub out of the box.
CAUTION: The bathtub shall only be moved by holding its edge, by no means pipes
or wires.
First install the "S"-syphon, then place the tub on its intended location. Use the water level
balance to adjust the tub to the floor. The figure shows different bases used for whirlpools.
From the left: base incorporated into a built-in tub; reinforced base incorporated into a
built-in tub featuring cladding; corner-mounted tube base.
This is how to install the tub: use pencil to mark the position of elements on base's feet
(Figure 3), and tub's edge (Figure 4).
Figure 3 Figure 4
For optimal load capacity of the edge of the tub we recommend to install a tub with an
integrated wooden strip coated with a water-resistant coating.
Check Figure 5a for variants of bathtub's integration along the wall.
For more stability and load capacity of the edge we recommend to install a bathtub
featuring a special wall mounting kit available at authorised stores selling the Kolpa-san
product range. Check Figure 5b for variants of bathtub's integration along the wall.

Then place the tub at its
intended location and connect
the drain system.
There are different ways to
arrange the drain: a direct run-
off featuring an overflow
drainage set, which shall be
directly connected to the drain
pipe or an indirect run-off, where
the appliance shall be
connected with the drain hose
through the S-siphon. Kolpa-san
whirlpools feature an integrated
overflow run-off set with the S-
siphon enclosed. Figure 6
shows the structure of the
overflow run-off set featuring the
siphon.
Figure 6
ELECTRICAL WIRING
Observe safety regulations described in this section, but also the warnings described in
Section WARNINGS FOR USE.
Your whirlpool may only be connected by an authorised contractor holding an appropriate
official licence (so-called concession).
All Kolpa san whirlpools are produced in accordance with the European standards EN
12764, EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-60. Any electrical wirings in the building where the
whirlpool is installed shall comply with the IEC 60364-7-701 Standard and local national
regulations on electrical wiring safety.
The whirlpool shall be permanently connected to the power grid - connecting to a socket
is NOT PERMITTED. The supply shall be led through the protective RCD- I∆n30mA
switch and shall be secured with a 16A fuse (not exceeding 3500 W). Also, the circuit
shall be provided a multi-pole PRE-WIRED SWITCH by means of which it can be
switched off. The device for the separation of all phases from the power grid shall be
integrated in the electrical wiring in accordance with the valid national provisions on
wiring. Use a double shielded 3x2.5mm2conductor to connect. Connect the individual
conductors marked "L" for voltage, "N" for zero-conductor and " " for
grounding.
Connect an additional grounding conductor cross section 6mm2with the
switching point for equation of potentials, as marked with the symbol on
the right:
Connect to the power grid by following the diagram as shown on Figure 7.

SPACE
The space where the whirlpool is located (bathroom) shall be made in accordance with
the valid national regulations. There should be no switch or socket or any kind of
connections located within zones 0, 1, 2, or reach of hand or within the distance of 0.6m
from whirlpool and up to 2.25m of height as shown in Figure 8.
Except for remote controls, parts containing electrical components must be placed of fixed
preventing them to fall into the tub. Except for parts supplied by the low-voltage safety
current below 12V, no parts containing elements under voltage shall be placed within the
reach of persons in the tub.
Figure 8 - space
INTEGRATION OF A BUILT-IN TYPE OF BATHTUB
No matter what the variant, featuring a
platform or edge above the tiles
(Figure 9), and no matter what
material you use - Styrofoam, siporex,
polyurethane, concrete slab, etc. -
MAKE SURE THERE IS A
SERVICING ACCESS PROVIDED.
Figure 9
It is the the installer's responsibility to provide an adequate access for servicing.
Recommended minimum dimensions that still allow servicing are the following:
- 30cm X 30cm to access the tub/whirlpool overflow run-off set, and
- 42cm X 33cm (W x H) for servicing access to massage elements including nozzles,
motors, and electronic components
Ensure proper clearance around the device for proper cooling air circulation and air flow
to nozzle (in whirlpools). Do not use any insulation material within this zone or the area
around motors. The air flow can be regulated with the holes in the service grille.
CAUTION: If the whirlpool servicing aperture features NO airing openings, additional
system airing openings shall be installed to cool the motors and supply the air for

Bathtub masage systems page 8
ENGLISH www.kolpasan.eu
massage. These openings shall be provided near the massage system motors. No airing
openings are required for tubs without massage system.
WHERE TO PLACE THE SERVICING APERTURE?
Recommended positions for servicing apertures are shown in Figure 10. F1–F6 show
examples for integration of different forms of tubs and built-in massage systems. Observe
the figure that best suits the form of your tub.
We recommend installation of a smaller servicing aperture close to the overflow run-off
set.
As shown in Figure 10, this element is marked as "A". Position of the set is different for
each tub model. For its appropriate position consult your salesman or see the
catalogue.
A tub featuring an integrated massage system requires installation of a larger servicing
aperture close to motors and electronic components. In Figure 10 this is marked as "B"
and "C". Just one of the variants "B" or "C" needs to be installed.
Some of whirlpools feature multiple massage motors arranged on different sides of the
tub; in this case, the access to each of the motors shall be provided. Figure 10 shows
this position as "D". It is only required with motors located on different sides of the tub.
As far as the overflow run-off set is mounted next to the motors, no separate apertures
for motors and this set are required. One larger-sized servicing aperture is sufficient. It
shall be positioned so that access to both overflow run-off set and motors is provided.
The servicing aperture shall be fitted with its lower edge at approx. 15–20cm from the
floor.
In some cases the design of the product prevents access. It is also possible that some
faults cannot be repaired only by using access through servicing apertures. This might
require dismantling the product from the opening in which it is built in. Though this
approach is rarely used, it is an acceptable method.
Figure 10

Bathtub masage systems page 9
ENGLISH www.kolpasan.eu
No airing grille is required for tubs that feature cladding. Just
leave a 5mm slot at the lower edge of the cladding. This SLOT
SHALL NOT BE filled with silicone or some any seal. If this slot
is sealed on a whirlpool, it is OBLIGATORY to install an airing
grille close to the motor.
CAUTION: Be careful when removing cladding to avoid
damaging lining, beams and bolts. Figure 11 shows the
cladding fitting system.
Figure 11
REPAIR OF SURFACE DEFECTS
By using inappropriate cleaners (e.g. containing rough fillers) or when the surface is
damaged by a sharp object or smouldering cigarette, surface defects may occur.
Follow the procedure below to repair:
Use wet sand paper to grind the damaged spot as long as necessary to make the
defect no longer visible. Start grinding by using a grained paper such as grain size
320, 400 or 600, and finish by using the grain size 800.
After grinding is completed, use car polish of other liquid polishing agents for soft
metals to polish the surfaces. Use polishing cotton or soft cloth for that purpose.
WARNING!
Prevent grinding through acrylic layer. For larger scratches we recommend pouring the
special Kolpa san repair kit for acrylic surfaces before grinding and polishing.
MAKE SURE not to damage the surface of massage elements such as controls,
keyboard, nozzles, and similar.
IMPORTANT
Inspect the product or components and their contents prior to installation. Observe
this manual for cleaning and maintenance of the product.
The manufacturer is liable for no additional costs for repair of damage that could be
established, repaired or prevented in advance if the buyer had inspect the product
visually, drained water from the piping (approximately 50L for removing mechanical
particles from the pipes) and tested the operation of functions of the appliance
(clogged pipes, nozzles, splinters or damaged parts, leaking pipes) before the final
installation.
FOR THE ERRORS THAT OCCUR DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION, USE OR
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PRODUCT, THE MANUFACTURER
ACCEPTS NO CLAIMS.

MASSAGE CONTROL
The massage effect in your bathtub can be controlled manually and electronically, and is
affected by three factors, i.e. the direction of the current, the intensity of water and the
intensity of air. Each product made by Kolpa d.d. and equipped with adjustable jet nozzles
enables manual adjustment of the water's direction. Certain products feature additional jet
nozzles which enable the adjustment of the (water flow) intensity as well.
Direction: If you would like to change the direction of the water jet, turn the jet nozzle
opening to the desired angle. The jet nozzles can be individually turned towards any spot
on the body for water massage. The jet nozzles can also be adjusted so that they are all
turned in the same direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise), thus swirling the water in
circles and achieving the optimum massage effect.
Water intensity: Large and adjustable jet nozzles can be directed manually, thus
adjusting the flow of water running into the bathtub. For a more intense effect, increase
the intensity of the jet by turning the inner part of the jet nozzle to the left (counter-
clockwise). For a more gentle effect, turn the inner part of the jet nozzle to the right
(clockwise). Adjust the massage intensity by decreasing the water jet from one (1) jet
nozzle, whereby the massage intensity of the other jet nozzle(s) increases.
CAUTION! You should never activate the massage system while the jet nozzles are
completely closed –at least HALF of all the water jet nozzles FOR EACH
INDIVIDUAL WATER PUMP (massage) must remain open. Otherwise, the water
pump of the pipes of the massage system may get damaged.
Air intensity: The intensity of the air in the water massage jet nozzles is controlled
manually by setting the air regulator located at the edge of the bathtub. The regulator can
be used to set the amount of air in the water jet nozzles for various water effects during
the water massage.
It cannot, however, be used to regulate the flow of air of the air massage (jet nozzles at
the bottom of the bathtub).
The changeover switch for the water massage jet nozzle function: Some massage
systems include a changeover switch that enables redirecting the flow of water to other
massage jet nozzles. Different bathtub models and massage systems come with different
changeover switches in terms of their number, colour and size.

ADITIONAL OPTION +microjets
This includes 6 -8 aditional micro (small) water
jets, positioned for back massage. With
integrated diverter it is possible to adjust the flow
of water for these jets, as shown in th picture 4.
MASSAGE BATHTUB CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- THESE INSTRUCTIONS APPLY TO ALL MASSAGE SYSTEMS -
oChildren may not perform unsupervised cleaning or maintenance work on the product.
oAfter the completed massage cycle, the bathtub should be rinsed off with a jet of
clean water, and particles that might clog the openings in the massage jet nozzle
should be removed. The chromium-covered parts should be wiped off with a clean
cloth.
oWe recommend using the KOLPA SAN DISINFECTANT to disinfect the massage
system.
Fill the bathtub with water so that it reaches just slightly above the jet nozzles, and
turn the massage jet nozzles downwards.
Pour the measured amount of the disinfectant into the water. Turn on the water
massage system and let it run for 2 or 3 minutes. Leave the water the bathtub for at
least 5 more minutes before draining it. For a more thorough cleaning, we
recommend leaving the water with the disinfectant in the bathtub for 6 to 12 hours.
Rinse the bathtub, including the massage system pipes, thoroughly with clean water.
The easiest way to rinse out the massage system pipes is to fill the bathtub with clean
water and turn on the massage pumps. Repeat the procedure until clean water flows
from the massage jet nozzles.
oIf necessary, the cleaning with the disinfectant may be repeated several times.
oPlease use only liquid cleaning agents and a soft cloth. To clean other acrylic
surfaces and remove limescale, we recommend the KOLPA SAN SPECIAL
CLEANING AGENT.
Spray the special cleaning agent on the surface or apply it with a sponge, and leave it
for a while to take effect. Rinse with clean water. For high-gloss fittings, we
recommend wiping the surface.
oTo remove limescale, you may also use vinegar normally used in households, which
is more effective if heated.
oUsing abrasive cleaning agents with rough particles is not recommended.
oDo not use oils, bath products, honey, flowers etc. in the water massage bathtub, as
they may clog the engine and the water jet nozzles.
oWe recommend cleaning the mechanical filter with a special cleaning agent every two
weeks or at least once a month, and CHANGING the insert (filter) every two months
when the water is CONSTANTLY in the massage bathtub.

INSTRUCTION FOR THE DOSAGE OF WATER CARE AGENTS
(pH regulator, bromine, alba super and filter cleanser)
1. Ideal pH water value in the pools is 7,0 –7,4
The pH value can be levelled with pH-PLUS and pH-MINUS regulator
pH regulator MINUS
pH regulator minus decreases the pH value from alkaline to neutral range
1,5kg pH minus suffice for 100m3 of water in order to decrease for 0,2 of value
15g pH minus suffice for 1m3 of water in order to decrease for 0,2 of value
75g pH minus per 1m3 of water decreases the value for 1
pH regulator PLUS
pH regulator plus increases the pH water value from acid to neutral range
1kg pH plus suffice for 100m3 of water in order to increase for 0,2 of value
10g Ph plus suffice for 1m3 of water in order to increase for 0,2 of value
50g Ph plus per 1m3 of water increases the value for 1
1 (one) tablespoon-full contains app. 15 mg of the pH-Plus or pH-Minus regulator
CAUTION! If the water's pH value is UNCHANGED after putting the regulator into the
water a few times, you MUST CHANGE THE WATER in the pool.
2. Bromine tablets-water disinfection
The ideal bromine value is 3-5 ppm (mg/l)
Bromine tablets have the same function as chlorine, however, bromine tablets do not
have such an intense odour as chlorine.
Dosage of bromine tablets: 1 tablet per 1m3of water
3. Alba super- algae prevention agent
Alba super is a concentrate for destroying algae and bacteria.
Alba super is a non-foaming agent for massage pools.
Dosage: 10ml of alba super per 1m3 of water every 14 days.
4. Filter cleanser- filter cleaning agent
Every two weeks you must thouroughly clean the filter with the filter cleanser and then
rinse off the dirt that's still left with clear water.
Amount of water in the SAMSON massage bathtub –600L = 0.6m3
Amount of water in the GAIA massage bathtub –500L = 0.5m3

Perfect water care
Achieve clear water in your pool in 6 steps
pH regulation of the water value
The most important thing with water care is pH water value. This affects every factor of the pool water and should
always be in ideal range between 7,0 and 7,4. Within this range the minimum use of water care agents achieves
their maximum effectiveness potential. For measurments use Pooltester, measurement set for pH, bromine or
chlorine.
Disinfection
At the water temperature over 20 oC germs and bacteria multiply considerably. To prevent this we use oxidants in
the form of stabilized chlorine products or products based on active oxygen. They destroy germs and bacteria and in
this way disinfect the water in your pool. The ideal content of chlorine: 0,6 –1,0 ppm (mg/l).
The water can be disinfected also with the help of bromine tablets. The tablets don’t smell of chlorine, they function
within the wide pH range and without any leftovers. The ideal bromine level: 3 –5 ppm (mg/l).
Algae prevention
Algae represent food for bacteria. To ensure faultless, hygienic water quality it is inevitable to prevent the growth of
algae on the pool and in the water. With precautionary dosage you can also save up in disinfection agents.
Flocculating
Filter cannot retain the smallest particles of dirt (colloids). To remove these we use the flocculating agents. This
results in crystal clear water. Even the flocculating agent must be dosed as a precautionary measure to ensure clear
water at all times. Attention: with cartridge filters you can use exclusively the liquid flocculating agent, and during
this time the massage system must not function as the cartridge filter can be blocked. Only aerial massage
can function. The dirty particles sedimenting at the bottom can be removed with venturi vacuum cleaner (not through
the filter) or using a hand net.
Pool cleaning and care
In the same way as with the apartment and car, these provisions are used for cleanliness and maintaining the value
of your device.
Fragrances
For a somehow different bathing experience we recommend various essential oils or perfume oils that don’t foam
when we use the massage.
Our special recommendations:
1. at every step of water care be careful about the right pH water value (check the pH value on a weekly basis),
2. remove the leaves and rough dirt from the water with the help of catching nets or the pool vacuum cleaner,
3. check whether the filter pump works regularly and that the filter is clean (we recommend filter cleaning two times
a month).
Recommended water care agents
