II. Installation procedures
1. Turn off the machine.
2. Remove the cord clamp and unplug the power
cord from the machine (one screw).
3. Remove the lower rear cover (seven screws).
4. Take out the Dust Filter of the backside of the
machine.
5. Remove the upper rear cover (four screws).
6. Disconnect the IR connector on the right side of
the machine.
7. Open the right door and then remove the right
rear cover (three screws).
8. Remove the shield cover (fifteen screws).

9. Open the tab of the slot (Lowest position) of the
MFP control board (PWB-MFP) and push the
DIMM into the slot making sure the direction of
the DIMM.
Note:
Push the DIMM all the way into position until the
tabs on both sides of the slot fit into the cutouts in
the DIMM.
10.Reinstall the shield cover that has been removed
in step 8 (fifteen screws).
Note:
For three types of screw is used, refer the illustra-
tion to make sure the position of each screw.
11.Open the front door.
12.Remove the cover (one screw).
13.Install the shield plate to the mounting plate
(one screw furnished with the kit).

14.Position the speaker from the backside of the
Mounting Bracket.
Note:
Set it making sure the direction of A portion.
15.Install the Mounting Bracket to the machine and
connect the connector (two screws furnished with
the kit).
16.Place the harness in one clamp.
Note:
Make sure that the Tie Band is above the clamp.
17.Reinstall the cover that has been removed in step
12 (one screw).
18.Close the front door.
19.Affix the label to the position shown below.

III. Installation Procedures of FAX Kit (FK-
502)
1. Remove the shield cover (two screws).
2. Check to make sure that SW2 on the FAX Control
Board is set to “LINE-1.”
3. Insert the FAX Kit and tighten the two shoulder
screws.
Note:
When inserting the board, align it with the slits.
4. Reinstall the right rear cover that has been
removed in step 7 on P. E-2 (three screws).
5. Plug in the IR connector that has been removed
in step 6 on P. E-2 and close the right door.
6. Reinstall the upper rear cover that has been
removed in step 5 on P. E-2 (four screws).
7. Insert the Dust Filter that has been pull out in step
4 of P. E-2.

8. Reinstall the lower rear cover that has been
removed in step 3 on P. E-2 (seven screws).
9. Plug the power cord into the machine and put the
cord clamp that has been removed in P. E-2 step
2 through the power cord to install it (one screw).
10.Connect the Modular Cable.
Note:
Plug the Modular connector into the Modular jack
(LINE) on the right side of the main unit.
IV. Setting the FAX
1. Turn on the machine.
2. Display the Service Mode screen.
(For details of how to display the Service Mode
screen, see the Service Manual.)
3. Touch “System 2.”
4. Touch “Option Board Status.”
5. Touch “Set” of Fax (Main).
6. Touch “END.”

7. Touch “System 1.”

10.Use the or key to select the Target Area.

Note:
Set OT for countries other than the ones listed
above.
* Select the appropriate country code according to
the dial system used in the installation place. For
DTMF, select “EU,” and for dial pulse, select
“each destination country code.”
11.Touch “END” twice.

19.Turn OFF and ON the Main Power Switch.
Note:
When displayed the Service Mode screen, be sure
to turn off the main power after exiting the Service
Mode screen and wait for 10 seconds or more
before turning on.
20.Perform the sending and receiving tests between
the Machine and either the store which offers the
service or the local retailer, to check that it can be
operated normally.
V. Caution when performing Dial Transfer
After setting the country code, dialing operations
may be selected after the switchboard dial tone is
detected depending on the destination. In this case,
depending on the switchboard connected to the
machine and the type of dial tone received from the
switchboard, dialing operations may not be avail-
able. If that happens, you may be able to avoid the
problem with the following setting.
<Turn the Dial Tone Detection function OFF>
1. Display the Service Mode screen.

screen, see the Service Manual.)
2. Touch “FAX.”

4. Touch “NetWork Setting 2.”

Affix the Label B only when the country code is set
as [DE] during installation.
