DEAR CUSTOMER
You have purchased heating boiler manufactured by Ukrainian State
Enterprise “Krasilov aggregate plant”. To guarantee a long-time failure-free
and safe operation of your boiler we request always to follow the further
mentioned information.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTION:
This manual contains important information for the safe and correct
installation, start-up and trouble-free operation and maintenance of the
heating boiler.
The heating boilers should be used for heating rooms and preparing food
only in the manner described in this manual.
Make sure that you purchased the heating boiler of necessary power that
corresponding with heating project documentation of your house or
premises.
USE only original “KORDI” parts
1.1. Instruction to boiler installer:
During installation and operation, the country specific requirements and
regulations must be observed:
-local construction regulations on the installation, air supply and exhaust
gas extraction as well as chimney connection.
-regulations and norms concerning the fitting of the heating installation
with safety devices.
1.1.1. Safety rules for user operation:
-operate the heating boiler at a maximum temperature of 95ºC, in order to
prevent overheating use the cooling coil. When the temperature in a
boiler reach 95 ºC the thermostatic valve will open and the cold water
from water mains passes through cooling coil and cools the heating
system;
-the maximum allowable pressure in the boiler is 2 bars. Install relief
valve and thermomanometer in order to check the temperature water
pressure. They should be installed on the mounting places on the back
side of the boiler;
-do not use flammable liquids for ignition or increase of burner output;
-collect ash in fireproof container covered with lid;

-clean the heating boiler surface using mechanical or non-flammable
cleaning products only;
-in a case of forced termination of boiler operation in winter (for a period
more than 24 hours) you should completely drain water from heating
system;
-before raising a temperature above 60ºC you should be certain the water
is circulated in heating system;
-do not store flammable materials in the boiler room.
DANGER of intoxication, suffocation.
Dangerous leak of exhaust gases, during boiler operation, may result
intoxication, suffocation. Make sure the air inlets and the exhaust gas outlet
are not clogged or closed.
DANGER of fire when burning flammable materials
or liquids.
Flammable materials/liquids must not be left in close proximity of the
heating boiler. Instruct boilers user of the allowed minimum clearances
(more than 400 mm) from surrounding flammable objects.
DANGER of intoxication or explosion.
Toxic gases may be discharged when burning waste, plastics or liquids.
Burning of mentioned materials is unallowable. Use only the fuels indicated
in this manual.
In case of danger of explosion, ignition or discharge of exhaust gases in
the room – the boiler must stop operated.
CAUTION! The heating boiler must be serviced only by
person or authorized specialized company familiar with
operation manual and specific requirements for your
country. As a user you only allowed to start the boiler up,
adjust the temperature, clean the boiler and shut it down.
The annual check of the boiler must be performed by an
authorized specialized company only.

1.1.2. Minimum clearance for installation and combustibility of
construction materials.
The applicable minimum clearances in your country may differ from the
ones specified bellow (see picture 1). Please consult your installer.

The minimum distance from the heating boiler or exhaust gas pipe to
objects or walls must be at least 200 mm from non-combustive (Class A)
and hard-combustive (Class B) materials. For easily combustible materials
(Class C-F), which quickly burn and burn themselves even after removal of
ignition source (such as paper, cardboard, asphalt and tar paper, wood and
wood-fiber boards, plastics, floor coverings) the safe distance has to be
doubled to 400 mm.

1.1.3. Requirements to boiler installation room.
CAUTION! Installing boiler in the living space is
prohibited!
The boiler for solid fuels can be installed by a company with a valid
authorization to perform its installation and maintenance.
The floor in the boiler room must be made of non-combustible materials
with a rough surface. Boiler room must be frost-proof.
The boiler room should be equipped with good ventilation so it must
allow continuous access of air necessary to maintain combustion.
The boiler must be placed on a steel sheet exceeding the boiler platform
over 100 mm at sides and 500 mm at front. It is also recommended to put a
basalt cardboard soaked with clay mortar under the steel sheet. Handling
space of minimum 1500 mm in front of the boiler must be maintained.
If the boiler is installed in a basement or cellar we recommend placing it
on a foundation of minimum 50 mm height.
In order to maintain space for access to the back part of the boiler of
minimum 600 mm at least from one lateral face.
1.1.4. Requirements to fuel placing.
It is recommended to keep distance of minimum 1000 mm between the
boiler and fuel or to place the fuel to another room than that where the boiler
is installed. It is disallowed to store fuel behind the boiler or to unload it
beside the boiler in the distance smaller than 400 mm.
2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
“KORDI-10S” boiler designed to satisfy heating demands of small
residential dwellings as well as meals preparing. Heating boiler should be
used in closed water heating system with forced circulation. Operating
pressure is 2 bars, engineered for burning solid fuel only.

Boilers body is made of high-quality boiler steel sheets with thickness of
6 mm for the combustion chamber and 4 mm for the water mantle.

2.1. Fuels
Combustion chamber can utilize only natural and untreated wood or coal.
Pressed fuels and briquettes, containing only wood, may also be used. Log
length should be up to 300 mm. To reach the rated power of the heating
boiler it is necessary to keep a maximum humidity at wood of 20%. High
moisture content at the wood decreases heating value which in its turn
reduces boiler output. So the fuel must to be stored in dry conditions.

Ignition cycle Operation cycle
Ignition cycle. During ignition of the boiler set the ignition controller (9)
in “Open” position. The controller opens the ignition flap (16), the
maximum draft is available and the waste gases flow straight into the
chimney.
Operation cycle. After the fuel starts burning set the ignition controller
(9) in “Close” position. The controller closes the ignition flap (16) the waste
gases flow down through the left and right vertical stack then up to the
chimney through the central vertical stack.
ATTENTION! When operating the boiler always
keep the waste-gas flue shutter (17) in such position that
shown above. Remove the waste-gas flue shutter only
for cleaning vertical stacks.
3. TRANSPORTATION AND DELIVERY OF THE BOILER.
3.1. Transportation and storage demands.
The transportation of the heating boiler should be carried out in its factory
packaging at a temperature range from - 50ºC to + 50ºC.
The heating boiler should be fixed well while transporting and must not
be turned over during it transit to installation site.
During the transportation and installation, depending on the weight,
suitable safety devices should be used.

The heating boiler should be stored in its factory packaging in a dry and
natural venting place at a temperature range from - 50ºC to + 50ºC and
annual humidity up to 60%.
3.2. Scope of supply

The accessories are storied inside the boilers body and they are available
after opening the stocker door.
Please, inspect the integrity of the packaging upon delivery and also check
whether all the components, mentioned above, have been supply to you. If
any of the items are missing – contact your supplier.
4. INSTALLATION OF THE HEATING BOILER
CAUTION! The assembly and installation of the
boiler should be performed according your country
requirements and heating project documentation by a
service organization authorized for performing of this
operation. Always observe building supervision
instructions, in particular existing Ordinance on
combustion devices and storage of combustion
materials, as well as on building requirements
applicable to installation sites and on ventilation.
If the heating project documentation is not
obligatory, installation is recommended by the scheme
specified in the annex to this manual.
4.1. Installation of the boiler.
The installation of this heating boiler should be maintained according to
the recommendations of this operation manual.
4.1.1. Remove the factory packaging from the boilers body.

4.1.2. The boiler should be placed on a steel surface according to the
figure 1.
4.1.3. The boiler must be set in a position which allows the easiest
possible cleaning and maintaining (see figure 1).
4.1.4. Take out air flap adjusting screw, scoop and scraper from the
combustion chamber.
4.2. Connecting the cooling coil.
The “KORDI-10S” boiler is equipped with safety cooling coil. It connects
to the water system through a thermostatic valve. In a case of overheating,
the thermostatic valve feeds in cold water that passes through the cooling
coil and absorbs the heat in the boiler. The draining valve discharges it into
the sewage system. This device ensures safe evacuation of the excess heat
without the need of user’s presence. The cooling coil guarantees that the
water in the boiler will not exceed the maximum safe level of 95 ºC
We recommend to connect the safety cooling coil according to figure 4.

ATTENTION! Stop the operation of the boiler if the
cooling coil is faulty.

4.3. Connecting the boiler to a chimney
Connection to chimney should be performed only with consent of a
relevant chimney company.
The “KORDI-10S” boiler should be connected to a separate chimney
according to existing rules and standards. The chimney must provide
sufficient draught for evacuation of the smoke under any conditions. The
proper functioning of the chimney requires appropriate sizing since the
draught it produces affects combustion, boilers output and life span. The
chimney diameter must not be smaller than the flue outlet of the boiler (no
less than 127 mm).
Only heating specialist must calculate the precise
sizing of a chimney.
The flue outlet must be properly sealed to avoid gas leak. Avoid using
elbow joints. Before installing the chimney-to-boiler connection you should
observe the recommendations below (figure 5).

4.4. Filling of the heating system with water.
CAUTION! The installation and assembling of
heating system should be performed according your
country requirements by a service organization
authorized for performing of this operation.
4.4.1. It is obligatory to install the thermomanometer (with temperature
range from 0 up to 120 ºC and pressure range up to 4 bar) and 2 bar
pressure-relief valve for the heating system with forced circulation of water.
The places of mounting of the manometer and pressure-relief valve are
mentioned in p. 2.2.
4.4.2. All pipe thread connections should be sealed with oakum.
4.4.3. Fill the system with water and check for leaks.
4.4.4. Water for filling the boiler and heating system must be pure and
colorless, without suspended substances, oil and chemically aggressive
substances. The water hardness must not exceed the required parameters:
Hardness 1 mmol/l;
Ca ²+ 0,3 mmol/l;
Fe+Mn 0,3 mg/l (total recommended value).
Even multiplying heating of the water with higher hardness does not
prevent from excluding of soils on the boiler drum walls.
The precipitation of 1 mm of limestone reduces the heat transfer from
metal to water up to 10 %.
ATTENTION! The water from boiler and heating
system must never be taken out for use except for cases
necessarily needed such as repairs, etc (see p. 1.1.1.). By
draining the water and filling with new one the risk of
rust and scale creation is increased.
4.4.5. Check all the joints for tightness once again.
4.5. Assembling of draft regulator.
Draft regulator should be ordered separately. Fix the draft regulator on its
mounting place with a help of female connector G¾“. Connect the one end
of the chain with draft regulator, the other to the air intake door flap of the
ash door.

5. PUTTING INTO OPERATION.
CAUTION! Putting the boiler into operation can be
performed only by a contractual service organization
authorized for performing of this operation.
5.1. Control operations before starting.
Before starting the boiler it is needed to check:
1. Filling the heat system with water and system tightness.
2. Connection to chimney – this connection can be performed only
with consent of a relevant chimney company.
3. The waste-gas flue shutter installed on its operation place as shown
on p.2.2.
5.2. Putting the boiler into operation.
CAUTION! When ignition the boiler for the first time
a condensate is formed which is later drained (it is not a
fault).
5.2.1. Performance of fire in the boiler. Set the ignition controller in
“Open” position.
5.2.2. Setting the boiler on the necessary operating temperature. The
recommended temperature of the output water is 60-80 °C.
5.2.3. Operating of the boiler in the operating condition according to the
competent standards.
5.2.4. Repeatedly check the boiler tightness.
5.2.5. Adjust the position of air-intake door flap by the means of draft
regulator or air flap adjusting screw.
5.2.6. Introduction of the user with servicing.
ATTENTION! The first heat test performance should
be recorded in the Warranty card.
DANGER! Do not open the flue damper during boiler
operation!

ATTENTION! It is disallowed to store fuel behind the
boiler or to unload it beside the boiler to the distance
smaller than 400mm. It is also disallowed to store fuel
between two boilers in the boiler room.
5.3. Cleaning of the boiler.
The boiler walls inside the combustion chamber, smoky boiler draughts
and smoky chimney cleaning must be carried out periodically and
adequately at least 1 time a week. Regular cleaning is important to ensure
the optimal performance and long operational life of the boiler.
At the start of each new heating season it is recommended that the
cleaning of the boiler be carried out by a qualified service.
ATTENTION! After boilers cleaning make sure that
the waste-gas flue shutter installed on its operation
place as shown on p.2.2.
The ash from the ashtray to be emptied during the operation of the boiler
even several times per day according to the sort of used fuel because a full
ashtray prevents the right distribution of the burning air under the fuel and
causes unequal burning process of fuel.
CAUTION! The ash is needed to be put away into the
fireproof container with a cover. It is necessary to use
protective facilitations and to pay attention to personal
safety while operating.
If there is a settlement of tar silt on the walls of the burning space while
using fuels with higher gas build up it can be removed with a scraper or by
burning out with a help of dry wood (eventually coke) when setting the
boiler to the maximum operating temperature.
6. IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS.
1. The boiler must be operated only by adults who are introduced to
these operating instructions. It is unallowable to let children at the
boiler unattended of adults. Interventions into the boiler construction
that could threaten the health of the operating staff are disallowed.
2. The boiler is not destined for the use by persons (incl. children)
whose physical, sensual or mental disability or lack of experience and

knowledge prevent them from a safe use of the boiler unless they are
supervised or if they were not instructed on the use of device by a
person responsible for their safety.
3. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play
with the boiler.
4. Flammable materials must not be in the minimal distance of 1500
mm from the boiler when emptying the ash at the boiler.
5. It is disallowed to overheat the boiler during its operation.
6. It is not recommended to operate the boiler for a long period of time
at an output lower than 50%.
7. It is disallowed usage of flammable liquids for firing the boiler.
8. When the boiler operates at a lower temperature than of 60 °C the
retting, or the so called low – temperature rust, of the boiler drum
may occur that reduces the operating life of the boiler drum.
Therefore we recommend to operate the boiler at a temperature of
60 °C or higher. We recommend to install the 3 or 4 way mixing
valve in order to maintain mentioned temperature in the boiler.
9. After finishing of the heating period it is necessary to properly clean
the boiler, smoke stack and chimney. The smoky flap mechanism and
other movable parts should be covered with graphite grease.
10. It is necessary to install a pressure-relief valve for maximum
overpressure of 2 bars and thermomanometer for pressure control.
The pressure-relief valve must be located directly behind the boiler.
Any stop valve must not be located between the pressure-relief valve
and boiler.
11. The cooling coil must be activated constantly in order to prevent the
system overheating.
12. It is recommended to install a buffer tank and pump type group with
thermostatic mixing valve to the boiler. The capacity of buffer is 55
liters of water per 1 kW installed boiler power.
13. During assembly, installation and operation of the appliance it is
necessary to comply with standards that apply in the relevant country
of destination.
14. In order to increase the endurance life of brick chimney the inner
walls of chimney should be lined with steel.
ATTENTION! Failure to observe the installation and
operating requirements described in this manual voids
the warranty and shorten an endurance life of boiler.

7. RECYCLING AND WASTE DISPOSAL.
Parts of the packaging made of wood or paper can be used as combustible
for the boiler. Submit the rest of the packaging material for recycling
according to the local regulations and requirements.
At the end of life cycle of each product its components are due to be
disposed of in conformity with regulatory prescriptions. All metal and non-
metal details should be liquidated by a waste collection organization.
8. WARRANTY.
The SE “Krasilov aggregate plant” grants a warranty for 30 month after
the boiler putting into operation.
The user is obliged to leave the boiler installation to an assembly
company, putting into operation and defect removing only to a professional
contractual service otherwise the warranty for proper boiler operation is not
valid.
The user is obliged to perform a regular control of the boiler.
Failing to keep the mentioned instructions the warrants provided by the
producer are not granted.
Each notice of defect must be made immediately after its finding always
in written form and by a phone agreement.
The manufacturer grants the right for changes performed within the frame
of product innovation that may not be included in this instruction.
The grant does not apply for:
Faults caused by improper assembly and improper attendance of the
product and faults caused by improper maintenance.
Faults and damage caused by failure to observe water quality in heating
system or by using the anti-freeze mixture
Faults caused by failure to observe instructions stated in this manual.
Defects caused by a wrong assembly or incorrect operation of the product.
Damage of the product during transportation or other mechanical damage.
Defects caused by improper storage.
