5. Preparing for Part Replacement
5-1 Removing outer cover
*Always turn off the power switch before removing the outer cover.
●Optical head cover
1Remove the caps of the left and right focus knobs with a (-) driver.
2Loosen screws to remove the focus knobs, while holding them with your hands to avoid its turning.
3Loosen the screws of flash-lamp cover for its removal.
4Remove the connector connected to a digital camera.
5Pushing the lens removal button of a digital camera, turn a digital camera clockwise and remove it.
6Remove a long screw on the flash lamp.
7Remove two screws and then the front cover.
8Remove four screws and then the top cover.
9Remove two screws and then the right and left cover of the optical head.

●Optical head base cover and panel cover
1Remove five screws and then one of the optical head base covers. And also remove the other optical
head base cover.
2Raise and extract a panel cover. ※Be careful not to damage joystick..
3Remove the cable of the panel cover from the cable clamping.
4Disconnect the cable connector of a panel cover from a main board, a SUB board, and a joy stick
(four places).

5-2 Removing the power supply cover
*Always turn off the power switch and pull the plug from the socket.
1Remove the outer cover beforehand.
2Tighten the optical head base fixing screw.
3Tighten the lock screw.
4Remove the connector connected with a power supply part from a sub board and a main board.
5Put the cushion at the left of the main body (view of the checker).
6Lay the optical head base on cushion.
7Removing the power supply, and put it on the right-hand side of the main body.

7. Lens cleaning
7-1 Preparing for lens cleaning
<Required items>
-Cleaning solution-・・・・・Mixed solution of 50% absolute ethyl alcohol and 50% ether.
※Other lens cleaners may leave residue after cleaning.
-Softwood stick-・・・・・・A softwood stick approximately 10 inches (25 cm) in length with its end
shaved flat.
※Do not use hard tools such as a flat-head screwdriver or a pair of tweezers. Hard tools may
damage lenses.
-Cleaning paper・・・・・Gauze may be used instead.
※Do not use chamois leather or silicon cloth.
-Blower-・・・・・One blower is supplied.

7-2 Lens cleaning procedures
①Using the blower, blow dusts off from the lens. Air-blow cleaning is the principal cleaning method.
Proceed to the steps below only when you need to remove stubborn soils that the air-blow
cleaning cannot handle.
②Make sure that no dust is left on the lens surface. Wiping off a dusty lens surface may damage
the lens. When dusts are left on the lens surface, blow them off first using the blower as
described in the
step ①.
③Wrap the tip of a flat-end softwood stick with a piece of cleaning paper.Wrap the stick so that the
end of paper protrudes approximately 2 mm off from the tip of stick.
④Dip the tip of cleaning paper into the cleaning solution. Clean a lens with a spiral motion from the
center towards the rim of the lens. Carefully clean the lens surface so that no soiled area is left
out. Do not apply excess force when cleaning a lens. Excess force may damage the lens.
⑤If the steps above do not clean the lens sufficiently, replace the used cleaning paper with new
cleaning paper and clean the lens again.
⑥If any soil is left out, gently wipe off the soiled area with a cotton swab soaked with a little amount
of water. Since water traces may appear after cleaning with water-soaked swab, clean the lens
by repeating the steps ②and ③.
⑦Should you have stubborn soil that cannot be removed by the steps above, contact your supplier
or us.
