Speaker Placement
Install the speakers on speaker stands or on a wall unit top.
The speakers should be placed at least 2 feet away from the side walls and about 4 feet away
from the rear walls. In case there is a loss of low frequency then the speakers can be kept 2 feet
away from the rear wall and about 1 feet away from the side walls to increase low frequency
response.
The left and right speakers should be at least 6 feet apart for good stereo imaging and channel
separation.
Ideally these speakers do not require any toeing as they are optimized for off-axis listening. If at
all required the speakers can be slightly towed in about 5 degrees to 10 degrees inwards for
correct imaging and foot print.
Do not obstruct the sound waves from your speakers by keeping an obstacle in between them.
The left and right speakers should have similar kind of furniture placement around them to
mirror each other for proper dispersion and diffraction of sound waves.
Always listen to the speakers seated on a sofa / chair approximately at the center for proper
stereo imaging. The speakers are designed to have similar on and off axis response due to
meticulous selection of the drivers / enclosures and compensation network, and should have
even dispersion in most of the seating positions.
Have floors covered with thick carpet if possible to keep floor reflections to the minimum.
Have heavy draped curtains on the windows to keep reflections from the rare and side walls to
the minimum.
Do not have heavy metal objects and glass, ceramic artifacts near the speakers so as to reflect
/deflect the sound waves causing uneven wave fronts.
Experiment and try out the best seating / speaker placements at your room for optimum sound
quality.
