RISK OF INJURY WHAT CAN HAPPEN HOW IT CAN BE PREVENTED
INJURIES TO EYES AND
HEAD
Pneumatic tools and accessories can
accelerate
materials such as metallic pieces, wood
shavings and other small parts to high
speeds and thus cause severe injuries to
your eyes.
Compressed air can be very hazardous.
The compressed jet of air can cause severe
injuries to soft body parts such as the eyes,
ears, etc.
Parts of the pneumatic tool can become
loose or break away and fly with high speed
in the direction of the user or in the vicinity
surrounding other persons.
Always wear safety goggles of type
Z87.1 approved by ANSI.
Never leave a pneumatic tool lying
around unattended.
Always decouple the pneumatic hose
when it is not in use.
For extra safety, you can also wear
an approved safety mask or face
shield in addition to the safety
goggles.
FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS Impact wrench and screwdriver tools can
generate sparks in conjunction with cutting
and grinding discs, and these sparks can
ignite combustible materials.
Exceeding the maximum permissible
operating pressure of such tools or
accessories can lead to an explosion and
cause sever injuries.
Please ensure that everything has
been connected correctly.
Never use the tools in the vicinity
of combustible substances such as
petrol, kerosene, cleaning agents etc.
Always work in a clean and well
ventilated area without combustible
materials.
Never use oxygen, carbon dioxide
or any other medium filled in glass
bottles in order to operate the
pneumatic tools.
Use only compressed air up to the
MAX pressure, which is permissible
for your pneumatic tool.
HEARING DAMAGE The noise generated by pneumatic tools
can lead to permanent hearing damage in
the long run.
Always wear an ANSI S3.19 ear
protection.
INJURY TO THE RES-
PIRATORY SYSTEM
Cutting / grinding discs generate dust and
particles flying all around, which can be
hazardous for human lungs and respiratory
systems.
Certain materials such as adhesives and
tar contain chemicals, whose vapours can
cause severe injuries when breathed in over
a long period.
Always use a well-fitting safety mask
or face shield or a piece of breathing
equipment approved by MSHA /
NISH when working with pneumatic
tools.
INJURIES Pneumatic tools that are left lying around
unattended or with the pneumatic
hose connected can be activated by
unauthorised persons and injure them or
other persons.
Loosen the pneumatic hose from
your tool when it is not in use and
store it in a safe place beyond the
reach of children.
