Thefollowingmanualprovidesinstructionsonhowtounloadandassemblethemachine.
Foryoursafetyandthegoodoperationofthemachine,followtheinstructionsgiveninthismanual.
All applicable general safety measures and regulations aimed at preventing accidents must
alsobefollowed.
This symbol is used throughout this manual every time recommendations
are made concerning your safety and the safety of others.
Donotwearlooseclothing which could become caughtupinmovingelements.
Wearappropriateindividual protection equipment correspondingtothe work which isplanned
(gloves,shoes,eyeprotection,helmet,etc…)
Useeitheraliftingdevicefittedwithahook(hoist,crane,etc)havingaloadcapacitysuperiorto
themachineweight oraforklifttruck oratractorfittedwithafrontendloaderwithforks nolonger
than1.20m(4’)andwitha minimal lift capacity of3000daN(6615lbs.)at0.60m (24”)fromthe
fork heels or 1500 daN (3307 lbs.) at 1.20m (4’).
Use slings with a sufficient capacity, and that are in good condition and well protected against
sharpedges(nevermakeslipknots with chain type slings).
To operate the machine safely, refer to the operator’s manual supplied with
the machine.

Palletedmachinesshippedincontainersare
packedtwoby two forreducedbulk.
As soon as the two pallets have been taken
outofthecontainer,removetheboltsconnect-
ing both pallets together to enable handling
themachinesseparately.
Ifaforklift truckisathand,separatethe forks
atthemaximumdistancefromeachother.
If the machine is lifted with a lifting device
fitted with a hook, place the slings at the
locationsidentifiedwiththefollowing decal.

Place the pallet on flat, horizontal ground.
Checkthatalltension hoops areinplaceand
ingood condition.
Replaceany that aredamaged or missing.
Cut the tension hoops and remove the right
andleftswathboards.
Choose a safe area on the ground to put all
unassembledparts.
Cutthetensionhoopsandlaytheleftandright
hoodsofthe rear swathing unitaside.

Remove the right front plate (the screw and
spacer can be scrapped).
Using the hoist, ease the left front plate up-
wards;thenremoveit.
Note : Re-install the screw, it will be used to
reassemble.
Removetheboxofunassembleditems.

Cut the tension hoops and remove the side
gearboxcover.
Cut the tension hoops and remove the rear
leftandrightguards.
Using an overhead crane or a fork lift truck,
removethefront pannel.

Removecarriagescrewsused to secure the
centralsupport.
Attachhoisttothe drawbar lifting point.
Remove the tension hoops taking the usual
precautions (beware of lash) to release the
drawbarfromthepallet.
Remove the wooden plate located on top of
theGyrodineheadcouplingyoke.

Removethecarriagescrewwhichsecuresthe
Gyrodineheadstockcouplingyoke.
Removebothcarriage screws whichsecure
thetubularsupporttothepallet.
Remove the bolt which secures the tubular
supporttothemachine.
Unscrewthetwoscrewswhichsecurethetu-
bularsupporttothedrawbar.Removethetu-
bularsupportandreinstall bothscrews(tobe
usedformountingtheintermediatePTOhous-
ing).
With the hoist place the drawbar next to the
othernonassembledparts.

- theprimaryPTOshaft
- thethirdPTOshaft
- theparkingstand.

Moorthemachineusingtwotextileslingsas
shownopposite. (Two strands of each sling
musthave a minimumcapacity of 2500 kg /
5500lbs.).

Note:theslingattachedtothecutterbarmust
be placed between the 2nd and 3rd disc for
theFC 303 ; between the 3rd and4th disc for
theFC 353 (seenin forward direction).
On machines palleted without
wheels :
Before attempting to tilt over a machine
palleted without wheels, install the wheels
usinganappropriateliftingdevice.Ensurethat
thewheelsarefitted with the valve stemfac-
ingtheoutsideofthe machine.
Slightlytightenwheelbolts.

Keepall people clear fromthe load zone.
Slowly lift the hoist till the two slings are
tensioned.
Themachinewilltiltoverautomaticallyifsling
lengthisasstatedpreviously.
Slowlytipover the machine/palletassembly
untilitrestsonthepalletandwheels.
Lock the wheel with two wheel wedges (in-
cludedintheunassembled parts package).
Placetwoapprox.400mm(16”)highwedges
wherethecutterbarwill rest oncetippedover
entirely.
Undo the slipknot that attaches the sling to
thepallet.
Doublethissling toreduceitslength;thenre-
attachitat the same location onthepallet.
Keepall people clear fromthe load zone.
Slowly lift the hoist till the two slings are
tensioned.
Themachinewilltiltoverautomaticallyifsling
lengthisasstatedpreviously.
Slowlytipover the machine/palletassembly
untilthecutterbarrestsonthetwowedgespo-
sitionedpreviously.

Using a lifting device fitted with forks which do not exceed 1.20 m / 3’11” length
(minimum lifting capacity of 3000 daN / 6600 lbs. at a distance of 0.60 m / 2’ from the heel of the
machine forks or 1500 daN / 3300 lbs. at 1.20 m / 3’11”)
Cautiously drive the forks underneath the
cutterbar.
Usingatextile sling,moorthecutterbartothe
heelsofthelifting device forks.
Note : when the sling is tensioned, the ma-
chine forks must at least be driven through
100mm/4”underneaththe cutterbar.
Slowly reverse the fork lift truck until the
cutterbarrestsontheforks.
Keepall people clear fromthe load zone.
Slowlylowertheforks whileprogressivelyre-
versing the truck loader until the machine
wheelsrestontheground.
Lockthe wheels with two wheel wedges (in-
cludedintheunassembled parts package).
Placetwoapprox.400mm(16”)highwedges
wherethecutterbarwill rest oncetippedover
entirely.

versing the fork lift truck until the cutterbar
rests on the two wedges positioned previ-
ously.

Moore the pallet with a 4 m / 13’1” long sling
tothehoisthook.
Remove the tension hoops taking the usual
precautions(bewareoflash).
Themachine is fixed on the pallet bymeans
oftwosidesupportsandonecentralsupport.
Removethe6carriagescrewswhichsecure
thesupportstothepallet.
Remove the pallet and clear it from the ma-
chineassemblyarea.
Removeandscrap the threemachine/pallet
connectionsupports.Reinstallandtightenthe
6screws at the prescribed torque.

Remove the drawbar pivot pin after having
takenout the fastening screw.
With the hoist engage the drawbar into its
mountingyoke.
Alsopushthespiralwrapcontainingthehose
andthe electric cables inproper location.
Reinstall the pivot pin after having coated it
withgrease.
Securethepivotpinusingthescrewremoved
previously.
Slidespiralwrapped hydraulic hoses with
wiringharnessthroughthesupportring.
Securein place with the cabletie provided.

Remove the packing support located at the
frontofthedrawbar,underneaththeGyrodine
hitch,andreinstallthe twoscrews(usedlater
ontofix a cover).
Removetheparkingstandhingepin.
Fittheparking stand in itsmountingyoke.
Reinstalltheparkingstandhingepin.
Fold parking stand down and rest the draw-
barontotheparking stand.

Usingthehoist,pivotthedrawbaruntiltheend
oftheswingcylinder engages into theframe
mountingclevis.
Reinstallthepivotpinremovedpreviously.
Secure the pivot pin with the corresponding
screw.
Removethe intermediate PTO shield. (rein-
stall screws which will be used to reassem-
ble).
Using the hoist, place the intermediate PTO
underneaththedrawbarwiththeyokeonthe
Gyrodinehitchside.
Afterhavingremovedtheclampbolt,drivethe
yokeintothesplinedGyrodineoutputshaft.

Securetheyokewith the clamp bolt (thebolt
concavepartontheshaft side).
Ensure the intermediate PTO shield butts
againstthetabasshown.
Installthecoverontheinspectionholeofthe
intermediate PTO yoke and secure it using
thepre-fittedfixationscrews.
The cover is included in the unassembled
partspacking.
Removemountingscrewsand spacer wash-
ers from the intermediate PTO rear housing
support.
Fit the housing onto its support underneath
thedrawbar.
