ual! It will introduce you to the fea-
tures of its design, controls, equip-
ment, as well as safety require-
ments and operation rules.
The vehicle has high dynamic quali-
ties, that's why in the initial period of its
operation, regardless of your driving
experience, you should exercise
caution until you have fully mas-
tered the technique of its driving.
When driving, to ensure safety traffic
without any accidents do not quit hold
of steering wheel.
The vehicle is intended to transport
people and luggage (in quantity and
weight declared by the manufacturer –
see the table in the section «Vehicle
technical specification») at ambient
temperature of minus 40 0С to plus
45 0С on hard surface open roads.
If necessary drive along broken-stone
roads or hobs it is recommended to
choose the mode that:
– can preserve protective covers of
suspension, front wheel drive, as well
as protective coverings of body from
being damaged with crushed aggre-
gates;
– can eliminate or minimize sharp
blows of suspension and strong tor-
sion loads on the body.
Maximum climbing is at most 30%.

sian Federation and International re-
quirements specified to the perform-
ance and safety indexes. Compliance
with these requirements is certified by
relevant authorities of the Russian
Federation and certificated authorities
of EEC countries, by issuing the
«Vehicle type approval», the number of
which is specified in the summary fac-
tory data table (See figure in the sec-
tion «Name plate data»).
During operation, avoid damages to
the vehicle, which include those follow-
ing as a result of mechanical, chemical,
thermal, and other external factors, as
well as traffic accidents, as these dam-
ages affect the overall technical condi-
tion of the vehicle, safety of its opera-
tion, consumer properties and ability to
use in accordance to its purpose within
the vehicle life period specified by the

VEHICLE
DESCRIPTION
I. BODY AND PASSENGER
COMPARTMENT
KEYS
The vehicle comes with two igni-
tion keys (Fig. 1a) with special en-
coders built in the key head. The ig-
nition switch key with a black mark on
the end combines the functions of:
– the key of the door locks and the
tailgate;
– the ignition switch key;
– the working key of the immobi-
lizer *.
In the design variant instead of
the ignition switch key with a black
mark on the end the vehicle has the
key with remote control console (Fig.
1b), which performs all these func-
tions.
The key with a red mark combines
the functions of:
– the key of the door locks and the
tailgate;
– the ignition switch key;
– the training key of the immobi-
lizer.
Key number is applied to the
label. Remove and save the label.
According to this number, you can
order a new key – contact any certi-
fied SSNE.
New ignition switch keys to re-
place lost ones are made at the
consumer's cost.
ATTENTION!
The ignition switch key with a
red mark on the end should be
stored separately and be not kept
in one bunch with the working
key. It should be used only if the
working key has been lost.

* The immobilizer blocks engine start and pro-
vides additional protection against unauthorized
use of the vehicle. Remember that the immobilizer
is only an additional barrier to misfeaser and does
not provide an absolute and complete protection
of your vehicle against the unauthorized use.

REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM
(in the design variant)
The remote control system by
power pack is designed for:
– remote locking (unlocking) of
side doors with simultaneous switch-
ing on (off) of the vehicle protection
mode;
– locking side doors by turning the
key in the driver's door lock;
– locking (unlocking) side doors
with the button from inside the vehi-
cle;
– switching on alarm system in
cases of violating protection zones of
the vehicle;
– switching off alarm system re-
motely or after switching ignition with
your key;
– remote control of electric win-
dow regulators.
To operate the remote control
console (Fig. 2) in the vehicle it
should be activated (trained) using
the training code key (see the sec-
tion «Immobilizer»). After training the
remote control console is also a
working code key of the immobilizer
and serves to unlock engine start.
Training and operation of the system
can be carried out simultaneously
with 4 remote control consoles.
ATTENTION!
Selling any vehicle equipped
with remote control system, with-
out training remote control con-
soles is not allowed. Training of
remote control consoles must be
carried out at vehicle presales
training points or at certified
SSNEs in the presence of the
owner of the vehicle, if the vehicle
owner chooses not to carry out
this procedure, his/her refusal
must be recorded in the vehicle
log book signed by the dealer,
affixed with the company's seal
and signed by the owner. If the
owner of the vehicle loses the
training code key, no claims for
remote control system quality are
accepted.
Remote control system
operation
1. Locking side doors and
switching on protection mode
(in the design variant) with the
help of remote control console.
To lock side doors and switch on
protection mode press lock button
on the console. In this case, side
doors will be locked and at the same
time protection mode will be
switched on, as evidenced by single
flashing of turn indicators and slow
flashing of immobilizer state LED
in the instrument cluster.
If any side door, bonnet or tailgate
(in the design variant) is open when
switching on protection mode (in the
design variant), turn indicators will
flash three times and a single horn
will be given. In order to include open
zones into the protection zone, close
them. The system will behave in the
same way if actuating overheat con-
trol of side doors locks, if locking
(unlocking) is carried out many times
in a short period of time. In this case,
wait for a while, whereafter the sys-
tem operation will be fully restored.
2. Unlocking side doors and
switching off protection mode
with remote control console.
7
Fig. 2. Remote control console

Unlocking side doors of the vehi-
cle with the help of remote control
console can be carried out in two
modes:
– step unlocking (factory deliv-
ery);
– simultaneous unlocking (partic-
ular procedure is required – see
below).
In the step unlocking mode, to
unlock driver's door and switch off
protection mode with remote control
console, press unlock button on
the console. Driver's door will be
unlocked and protection mode will
be accompanied by two-time flash-
ing of turn indicators.
To unlock passenger doors, press
unlock button on the console
once more.
In the simultaneous unlocking
mode all side doors of the vehicle are
simultaneously unlocked when pres-
sing unlock button for the first time.
To change unlocking mode follow
the procedure:
– switch the ignition with the key
with the console;
– press and hold lock and unlock
buttons of side doors on the con-
sole for about 5 seconds ;
– after the buzzer gives horns
release the buttons.
If the buzzer gives one horn, there
is set the mode of side doors' simul-
taneous unlocking, if the buzzer
gives two horns, there is set the
mode of side doors' step unlocking.
Each time you change unlocking
mode, it changes for the opposite to
the previously set.
If, after unlocking side doors and
switching off protection mode, no
side door or tailgate will be open,
and the ignition will not be switched,
then after a certain time (about 25
seconds), side doors will be locked
again and the system will automati-
cally change for protection mode.
Automatic switching of the system to
the protection mode with side doors
locking is provided with frequent
flashing of immobilizer LED in
the instrument cluster.
3. Opening tailgate lock with
remote control console (in the
design variant).
Unlocking tail gate with remote
control console is only possible when
the ignition is off. To open tail gate,
press twice or press and hold the
button for a while on the
remote control console.
With protection mode on, tail gate
is opened and protection zone is
switched off at the same time about
for 25 seconds. If during this time the
tailgate has not been opened, it is
automatically included into the pro-
tection zone. If, within 25 seconds,
the tailgate has being opened, then
this protection zone will be switched
off until it is closed. To close the tail-
gate shut it again.
4. Central locking and unlock-
ing of side doors from inside the
vehicle (in the design variant).
To lock side doors from inside the
vehicle pull down lock button in the
driver's door or press lock button
in the switch box or (in the design
variant) button in the driver's
door module.
To unlock driver's door from
inside the vehicle, pull up lock button
in the driver's door. To unlock all side
doors, press unlock button in the
switch box or (in the design vari-
ant) button in the driver's door
module.
Central locking has side doors'
protection against overheating. If
locking and unlocking occur many
times in a short period of time, the
system stops responding to buttons'
pressing. If this has happened, do
not press the button for a while,
whereafter the system operation will
be fully restored. To ensure safety
8

the last executed command is always
an unlock command.
5. Central locking/unlocking
of side doors from outside with
the key (with no remote control
console).
To lock side doors from outside
the vehicle, turn the key in the dri-
ver's door in a clockwise direction.
When turning the key counterclock-
wise you will unlock only the driver's
door or all side doors, depending on
the unlock mode (see paragraph 2).
ATTENTION!
If you do need to lock or unlock
side doors mechanically (for
example, lack of supply in the
vehicle onboard system) do the
following:
– to lock front doors pull down
button 1 (see Fig. 4 and 5) by
hand or by turning the key from
outside the vehicle, to unlock the
door pull up button 1 by hand or
by turning the key from outside
the vehicle (locking/unlocking
front doors is only possible with
the door closed);
– on rear doors pull down but-
ton 1 (see Fig. 7) by hand to lock
the doors, pull up button 1 to
unlock the doors (locking/
unlocking rear doors is possible
both with the door closed and
opened).
6. System operation in protec-
tion mode.
After activating protection mode
the system monitors the state of the
following protection areas:
– side doors;
– bonnet;
– tailgate;
– ignition starter switch;
– driver's door lock;
– battery voltage.
If in the protection mode any of
the following actions occurs:
– opening any side door;
– opening the bonnet;
– opening the tailgate;
– switching on the ignition without
using the «native» key;
– unlocking the driver's door;
– connecting accumulator battery
after it is turned off, the alarm system
is activated as light alarm with turn
indicators and as acoustic alarm with
horn of the vehicle for about 30 sec-
onds.
A single press of any button on the
console when the system is in the
alarm mode, results in turning off
alarm signals, but the system is still
in the protection mode. Protection
mode is turned off after pressing
unlock button on the console.
7. Remote control of electric
window regulators (in the design
variant).
Electric window regulators are
operated with remote control buttons
if the ignition is off.
Windows are rolled up while hold-
ing lock button down for more
than three seconds. First, front door
windows are rolled up, then rear door
ones.
Windows are rolled down while
holding unlock button down for
more than three seconds. First, front
door windows are rolled down, then
rear door ones.
Warning
Keep remote control console
away from children in order to
prevent unauthorized switching
of electric window regulators.
When rolling up and down win-
dows with the help of the console,
be aware that the console oper-
ates in the area of short range
from the vehicle in this mode. This
is due to safety and protection
against accidental pinching of
passengers with the window.
9

8. Key code synchronization.
If pressing buttons on the console
beyond the reach of the radio chan-
nel, «floating» code counter in the
console goes out of synchronization
with the counter in the system con-
trol unit. If the number of presses on
the console out of signal detection
range exceeded 1,000, the system
stops responding to commands of
the console. In this case, repeat the
procedure for re-training of the con-
sole at any certified SSNE.
IMMOBILIZER
For LADA vehicles there is used an
electronic immobilizer (implemented
in the instrument cluster), providing
their additional protection against
unauthorized use by blocking the
engine start.
Your LADA vehicle is supplied with
two ignition switch keys (see the sec-
tion «Keys»).
One ignition switch key with a
black mark on the end or with a
remote control console (in the
design variant) is a working key. It is
used for unlocking engine start. This
key is recommended to use for
everyday trips.
The second ignition switch key
with a red mark on the end is a train-
ing key. It is used for unlocking
engine start, as well as for activating
(training, re-training) immobilizer
and (in the design variant) remote
control system of doors' locking
(unlocking).
It is possible training and opera-
tion of the immobilizer, with the num-
ber of 1 to 4 working keys.
ATTENTION!
Selling any vehicle equipped
with an immobilizer without its
activation is not allowed. Immo-
bilizer activation must be carried
out at the vehicle presales train-
ing points or at the certified
SSNEs in the presence of the
owner of the vehicle; if the owner
of the vehicle chooses not to
carry out this procedure, his/her
refusal must be recorded in the
vehicle log book signed by the
dealer, affixed with the compa-
ny's seal and signed by the
owner.
As the training key is important
it is not recommended to use the
ignition key with a red mark for
daily trips. It must be kept in a
safe place. If you lose the training
key, warranties for immobilizer,
engine controller, driver's door
module (in the design variant) are
not accepted. Do not install alarm
system, protection and other
additional electrical and electron-
ic devices by cutting and twisting
wires (without use of regular
pads) or by passing regular con-
trol unit of doors' locking. Failure
of gear reducer of door locking,
gear reducers' control unit, body
electronics main unit (in the
design variant) due to improper
connection of additional devices
is not covered by the factory war-
ranty.
10

Immobilizer has a LED and
an alarm sounder (a buzzer) in the
instrument cluster.
The LED indicates the state
of the immobilizer:
– if after switching the ignition the
LED does not light and flash, it
means the immobilizer is OK, engine
start is allowed;
– if after switching the ignition the
LED flashes, lights for about 15 sec-
onds and goes out, then the immobi-
lizer is deactivated, engine start lock
mode does not work; you should
contact any certified SSNE to acti-
vate the immobilizer;
– if after switching the ignition the
LED flashes, the immobilizer is faulty.
Failure of the immobilizer is addition-
ally diagnosed with short horns of the
buzzer. You should contact any certi-
fied SSNE to correct the fault.
ATTENTION!
To ensure stable reading of
ignition switch key code with the
immobilizer, do not attach two or
more ignition switch keys to one
ring.
Switching off the ignition with the
training key leads to flashing the
immobilizer LED that is not a failure.
11

SIDE DOORS
Side doors can be locked
/unlocked from inside the vehicle by
pressing buttons / respective-
ly in the switch box (See Fig. 6а) or
(in the design variant) by pressing
button in the driver's door mod-
ule (Fig. 6b); pressing this button you
change the state of doors' locks.
Locking front doors is possible only if
the doors are closed.
Side doors are opened from the
outside – with the help of the handle
in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 3),
and from the inside – by turning over
internal handle 2 (Figs. 4 and 5). If
the door is locked, the handle is idle.
To roll up and down windows of
front and rear doors (in the design
variant) use switch buttons of elec-
tric window regulators on door trim
panels. To roll up any window just
pull up appropriate power window
switch: on the passenger's door trim
panel, or in the switch box (Fig. 6а)
or (in the design variant) in the dri-
ver's door module (Fig. 6b). To roll

– within 30 seconds after switch-
ing off the ignition, if during this peri-
od no front door has been opened.
Window regulators stop operating
with control buttons in the doors if
the ignition is off after opening any
front door or after switching on the
protection mode.
Window regulators can operate
with the ignition off and the door
opened only with the help of the
remote control console (see the sec-
tion «Remote control system»).

Automatic mode of rolling
up/down windows with DDM
buttons*
If press driver's window control
button in the mode of rolling up/
down no more than 1.5 seconds,
then the window will stop. If this time
exceeds 1.5 seconds, then the win-
dow will continue to move automati-
cally until it detects the obstacle (see
the relevant section), but for a time
not exceeding 10 seconds.
To control front passenger's door
right-hand window with DDM button
there is implemented automatic
rolling down mode, which works sim-
ilar to the mode of rolling down dri-
ver's door window.
Automatic mode of rolling
up/down windows is stopped when
rolling up them until they stop or
detect an obstacle and/or when
pressing any window regulator con-
trol button on DDM.
Rolling up/down windows with the
button in the passenger's door is
similar to the work of DDM buttons
with the following restrictions:
– it is controlled only the window
of the door, which has the button;
– it is impossible to control with
the button in the passenger's door as
long as you control the same window
or other window of the same board
with DDM;
– it is impossible to control with
the buttons of rear passenger's
doors if the lock mode of their work is
enable (see below).
To enable power window control
with switches, located in the rear
doors (in the design variant), you
should press button 9 in DDM, its let-
ter will be highlighted with orange. To
enable power window control with
switches located in the rear doors,
you should press button 9 in DDM
again. Orange light of button's letter
will go off. Lock mode for operating
rear door buttons is stored after
switching off/on the ignition and the
power supply of the system.
It is possible to control simultane-
ously two power windows, located on
different sides of the vehicle.
Warning
When closing windows with
power windows you can pinch
your fingers and other body parts
that could result in serious injury.
Therefore, when using power
windows, be careful especially if
there are children in your vehicle
or next to it. Make sure that the
window you roll up will pinch noth-
ing. In the case of pinching,
immediately stop rolling up the
window and turn on the necessary
mode to roll it down.
The driver of the vehicle has
the responsibility for improper
use of power windows. He/she
should explain to passengers
rules of use and warn them of
dangers in case of improper use
of power windows.
Do not allow children to use
power window switches!
Getting out of the car, be sure
to remove the key from the igni-
tion switch to turn off power win-
dows and avoid accidental injury.
As a warning about a left ignition
key, when opening the driver's
door, the buzzer of the immobiliz-
er gives a horn. Also the buzzer

tially implemented in the factory delivery of

mode can be disable with diagnostic tester at
certified SSNEs.

will give the horn, but in a differ-
ent tone, if you remove the igni-
tion key and leave tail lights
switched on.
Do not lean out of open win-
dows of the vehicle, make sure
that the children do not do it.
Rear doors are locked both with
the door opened and closed.
To roll up and down rear door win-
dows use power (see above) or man-
ual windows, which are activated with
handle 2.
The rear door window is not fully
rolled down.
If there are the children in the rear
seat, be sure to turn the latch hook
spline 1 with the key (Fig. 8) around
450until it stops. Moreover, you
should turn the latch hook clockwise
in the right-hand door, and counter-
clockwise in the left-hand door. In
this case, with the lock button pulled
up, the door is opened only from the
outside and the internal handle is
idle. For the doors to be opened from
the inside turn the latch hook spline
in the opposite direction.
FOOT PEDALS
LOCATION AREA
Foot pedals
When operating pedals of accel-
erator, brake and clutch (see Fig.
30a, 30b, positions 17, 16 and 14),
nothing should interfere with their full
stroke.
Use only the mats on the floor,
which do not interfere with normal
operating of pedals and can be se-
cured.
ATTENTION!
Do not place any objects on the
floor in front of and under the dri-
ver's seat. When braking any
object may fall in the area of ped-
als location and interfere with
normal operating of them. If nec-
essary prevent a crash or quickly
make a maneuver you will not be
able to brake hard, depress the
clutch or open up the engine.
Shoes for driving
Wear shoes to your feet to drive in
a confident and comfortable way.

SEATS
Front seats. To adjust front seats
in the longitudinal direction, pull
locking lever 1 (Fig. 9) up. After
installing the seat in a comfortable
position pull the lever down, and by
shifting movement of the seat back
and forth, fix it reliably.
Front seat height adjustment
In the design variant the car has
function of the front seat height
adjustment. In order to change seat
cushion inclination and position it is
necessary to raise or lower lever
(Fig. 9a), placed at the seat cushion
outer side. In order to lower the seat
cushion press the lever down sever-
al times. In order to raise the seat
cushion pull the lever up several
times.
Warning
Never adjust driver's seat while
driving. The seat can be moved
suddenly out of its location that
will result in loss of vehicle con-
trol.
The seat back is adjusted by step-
less rotation of handle 2.
In the design variant front seats
are equipped with electric heaters
that are switched on if the engine
runs with switches 1 (Fig. 10).
To adjust head restraint (Fig. 11a)
up/down it is necessary to use the
lever of the head restraint. To adjus
the head restraint down, press lock
lever 1 of the head restraint from the
right side. To remove the head
restraint from the seat back, move
the head restraint to its highest posi-
tion and press the lock lever of the
head restraint from the right side.
The best position of the head
restraint – when its top edge is on the
same level with the top of the head
(Fig. 11b). If this cannot be achieved,
16
for very tall people it is necessary to
pull up the head restraint to its high-
est position, and for very short peo-
ple it is necessary to pull down the
head restraint to its lowest position.
Warning
Drive with well-adjusted head-
rests only.
Rear seats. To expand luggage
compartment you can fold the back
seat. Rear seats headrests are
adjusted and removed by analogy the
front seats headrests (fig.11с).
In the design variant each of the
two parts of the seat can be folded
separately, if necessary. When fold-
ing up any part of the rear seat to

After setting the seat to its operat-
ing position the belt locks must be
removed from the holders, and the
central belt tongue must be inserted
into the mini-lock, aligning direction-
al arrows.
Warning
Seatbelts should not be at the
back when you return it to the work-
ing position to use them for intend-
ed purpose and to avoid damage to
belt bands with the back lock.

transport goods, only one passenger
can be in the remaining part.
Before rear seat (or its parts)
spreading it is necessary to pass the
bands of 2 rear side belts (fig.11d)
through the retainers of 1 band (in
the design variant), remove the
central belt tongue from the mini-
lock (see Fig. 15b) and install all
locks to special holders on the bot-
tom side of the back. To remove the
belt tongue press the button on the
side of the mini-lock with a sharp
object, for example, the ignition key.
When returning the seat back to its
operating position you should ensure
that shoulder branches of side belts
have not fallen behind the back.

STEERING WHEEL
ADJUSTMENT
The vehicle is equipped with tilt
steering column. To select the best
position of the steering wheel pull
locking handle 1 down (Fig. 13) and,
after setting the steering wheel to the
desired position, fix the steering col-
umn by moving the handle to its
highest position.
Warning
Steering column adjustment
must be carried out only in the
stationary vehicle.
SEAT BELTS
Seat belts are an effective protec-
tion of the driver and passengers
against serious consequences of
road traffic accidents (RTA).
To fasten the belt, pull it out
smoothly, holding the belt tongue
(Fig. 14), and insert tongue 2 (Fig.
15а) into lock 1 until it clicks; avoid
twisting the bands. Make sure that
the lower belt strap bears against
your hips. It is not allowed that the
lower belt band passes around the
waist or under the hips.
18
Rear seat should be folded in the
following sequence:
– remove the head restraints from
the seat back (in the design vari-
ant);
– pull strap 4 (Fig. 12) and set seat
cushion 1 to the vertical position. If
necessary, move front seats forward;
– pull lock drive lever 3 and fold
back 2 to the horizontal position.
Setting the rear seat to its normal
position must be carried out in re-
verse order.
