INDOOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
Service life –3 years. Before putting
into operation shelf life is unlimited.
Before first use, please follow these
instructions:
1. Remove all packaging and any labels.
2. Fill the kettle to the “MAX” level. Boil.
Discard the water. Repeat this process
twice.
USING YOUR KETTLE
1. Fill it through the spout or open lid.
The water level must between “MAX” and
“MIN”.
2. Be economical: do not boil more water
than needed.
3. To improve the quality of your drinks
always use fresh water.
4. Push the lid close firmly until it locks
into position.
Note: Ensure that the ON/OFF switch is
clear of obstructions and the lid is firmly
closed. The kettle will not turn off if the
ON/OFF switch is constrained or if the lid
is left open.
5. Plug in the power base, and switch
unit on by pressing the on/off switch to
the “I” position (the indicator light will
turn on when the kettle is working).
6. Your kettle will reach boiling point, and
switch off automatically. To re-boil,
simply wait a few seconds then reset the
on/off switch.
7. To avoid the risk of splashing, pour
slowly and do not over-tilt the kettle.
Over tilting the kettle will split the flow,
causing a scald hazard.
8. Empty the kettle after each use.
9. Your kettle is fitted with a scale filter
to hold back limescale particles.
BOIL DRY PROTECTION
A safety shut off device will automatically
activate should the kettle be accidentally
switched “ON” without any water, or
without sufficient water to cover the ele-
ment, or by allowing to boil dry. Should
the shut off device be activated, allow
your kettle to cool down for a few
minutes before refilling, to permit this
device to reset. This safety protection is
applicable to all models.
CAUTION
1. When using your kettle, please take
note that it will get hot when the water is
boiled. Please use the handle to hold the
kettle. After the kettle has switched off
automatically (or has been switched off
manually) it may need time to cool down.
After 30 seconds, the kettle can be
switched on again.
2. It the kettle ever boils dry, allow
10 minutes to cool before refilling with
cold water.
CARE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning, unplug your kettle and
let it cool down.
1. The outside: Wipe with a damp cloth,
then dry.
- Do not use abrasives – they will scratch
the plastic surfaces.
- Do not use scouring powder, or any
other cleaning products as they may dis-
color your kettle.
2. The inside: Wipe with sodium bicar-
bonate on a damp cloth. Rinse thor-
oughly. Even though your kettle comes
with a filter, you still need to clean the
inside (and the filter) regularly.
3. The filter: Either rinse under the tap,
or use a soft brush. or when descaling
your kettle, drop the filter in too. Rinse
thoroughly.
4. In hard water areas, it is necessary to
remove scale, and water deposit mark-
ings in the kettle as this can cause prem-
ature operation of the boil dry switch.
There are various kettle cleaners/ kettle
descalers which remove scale and mark-
ings available from supermarkets, phar-
macies, and other stores.
DESCALING
1. When limescale builds up on the heat-
ing element, buy a suitable descaler and
descale your kettle.
2. Limescale makes your kettle take
longer to boil and can make the element
burn out. After descaling, boil with fresh
water several times and discard. Clean
any descaler off the kettle – it can dam-
age the parts.
3. Some regions of the country have
chalky water. This makes boiled water
look cloudy and leaves a deposit on the
side of the kettle. This is normal but can
be removed with regular cleaning.
4. The warranty will not cover a kettle
that is damaged due to not descaling.
