The Hi-low Chassis has been designed
to offer the options of indoor and
outdoor bases for various seating
systems. This manual shows how you
can quickly, easily and safely make use
of all the functions. The instructions
on safety and maintenance will ensure
that you will enjoy the use of this
product for a long time.

1. Intended Use
The Hi-low Chassis has been designed for
indoor and outdoor use. It is not designed
for use in transportation and is not crash
tested. It should never be exposed to the
elements as this may corrode the metal
components. The Indoor chassis has 4
small castors and is for use indoors only.
The Indoor / Outdoor Chassis has two
small wheels at the front and two larger
wheels at the back and can be used both
indoors and outdoors.
2. Declaration of Conformity
James Leckey Design Ltd as manufacturer
with sole responsibility declares that the
Indoor / Outdoor Chassis conforms to the
requirements of the 93/42/EEC Guidelines,
Medical Device Regulations 2002 and
EN12182 Technical aids for disabled
persons and test methods.
3. Terms of Warranty
The warranty applies only when the
product is used according to the
specified conditions and for the intended
purposes, following all manufacturers’
recommendations (also see general terms
of sales, delivery and payment). A two
year warranty is provided on all Leckey
manufactured products and components.
4. Product History Record
Your Leckey product is classified as
a Class 1 Medical device and as such
should only be prescribed, set up
or reissued for use by a technically
competent person who has been trained
in the use of this product.
6.1 Always read instructions fully
before use.
6.2 To improve safety we recommend
that users should not be left unattended
at any time whilst using Leckey
equipment.
6.3 Only use Leckey approved
components with your product. Never
modify the product in any way. Failure
to follow instructions may put the user
or carer at risk and will invalidate the
warranty on the product.
6.4 If in any doubt to the continued safe
use of your Leckey product or if any
parts should fail, please cease using
the product and contact our customer
services department or your local
dealer as soon as possible.
6.5 Carry out all positional adjustments
and ensure that they are securely
fastened before you put the user into
the product. Some adjustments may
require the use of a tool which is
provided with each product. Keep all
tools out of reach of children.
6.6 When the product is stationary
ensure that all castors are locked and
facing away from the base, as this
will improve product stability. This is
especially important when the tilt in
space or back recline facility is in use.
6.7 When the seat is in use on a Hi-low
chassis please ensure that the height
adjustment pedal and tilt in space lever
are locked off and cannot be adjusted
accidentally by other children.
6.8 When the Leckey seating systems
are used on the Hi-low chassis we do
not recommend that users are moved
over uneven surfaces when in the
equipment. All due care and attention
should be taken if transporting the user
in and out of the seat.
6.9 Never leave the product on a
sloping surface, greater than 5 degrees.
Always remember to lock all the
castors.
6.10 Only use the push handle to steer
and move the seat from one area to
another. Never use the tray for this
purpose.
6.11 The product contains components
which could present a choking hazard
to small children. Always check that
locking knobs and bolts within the
child’s reach are tightened and secure
at all times.
6.12 Leckey products comply with fire
safety regulations in accordance with
EN12182. However the product contains
plastic components and therefore
should be kept away from all direct
sources of heat including naked flames,
cigarettes, electric and gas heaters.
Leckey recommend that a written record
is maintained to provide details of all
setups, reissue inspections and annual
inspections of this product.

recommend that parents, teachers and
carers using the equipment should be

6 Safety Information

6.13 Clean the product regularly.
Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Carry out maintenance checks on a
regular basis to ensure your product
is in good working condition.
6.14 The Hi-low Chassis has been
designed for indoor and outdoor use.
The indoor chassis has 4 small castors
and is for use indoors only. The Indoor
/ Outdoor Chassis has two small wheels
at the front and two larger wheels at
the back and can be used both indoors
and outdoors. When not in use should
be stored in a dry place that is not
subjected to extremes of temperature.
The safe operating temperature range
of the product is +5 to +40 deg Celsius.
6.15 Always check the plastic hand
knobs on the push handle are tightened
securely before you move the seat unit.
6.16 Before using the seating system
always check that the interface handle
on the seat unit is fully engaged
with the chassis. If the handle is not
engaged properly the seat unit may
come loose and could cause serious
injury to the child or carer.
6.17 These products have not been
crash tested therefore cannot be used
in transport.
How to
assemble
the Hi-low
Chassis

Pull the handle at the front of the seat unit up
and then pivot the seat forward and down.
Once the front of the seat is lowered fully,
release the handle and push it forward to
ensure it has fully engaged on the front tube.
Rotate the safety locking pin so it engages in
front of the handle. If it hits the handle then
the seat is not inserted properly. Remove
and repeat process outlined above.
Always check the handle and locking
pin are fully engaged before you place
the child in the seating system. If the
handle is not engaged properly the seat
unit can come loose and could cause
serious injury to the child or carer.
7.2 Attaching the
push handle
The push handle is attached to the Hi-low
chassis by inserting the two lower stems
into the receiving tubes as shown. The push
handle has safety poppers (A), which need to
be pressed in when inserting the lower stems.
Push the stems in until the poppers protrude
from the other end of the receiving tubes.
Secure the handle in place by tightening the
locking knobs (B).
Check these regularly to make sure the
knobs are tight, particularly if you are
moving the product unit along corridors
that may have uneven or sloping
surfaces, or outdoors.
Adjust the height of the chassis to its
maximum to reduce risk of back strain while
attaching the seat unit. Refer to Section 8
on how to adjust the height of the chassis
you have purchased. (Please note that
the photos and text relate to interfaces
for Leckey seats. For all other seating
systems please refer to the manufacturer’s
instructions.)
First release the safety locking pin at the
front of the seat. To do this pull the pin out
and rotate through 90 degrees. Carefully lift
the seat and place it into the chassis. At the
rear of the underside of the seat you will see
a receiving channel. Place this securely over
the tube towards the back of the chassis.

and carers who have been trained
in the use of this product.
8
8.1 Chassis
This user manual shows the correct and safe
use of the Hi-low chassis.
To prepare the Hi-low chassis for a seating
system we recommend that you raise the
chassis to a comfortable working height
by pressing the foot lever at the rear of the
chassis or by pressing the up button on the
handset of the powered option.
8.2 Powered height
adjustment
The powered chassis can be easily adjusted
with the push button control handset. The
seat can be height adjusted with the client in
the chair. Before the product is used for the
first time it is recommended that the battery
should be fully charged for 12 hours. To do
this plug the adaptor into the mains socket
and attach the lead (A) to the battery and
switch on the mains supply power. When
charged switch off mains power, remove
the adaptor plug and disconnect the lead
from the battery. The battery charge should
be topped up each day for approximately
one hour. The chair can be adjusted in
height while connected to the mains.

Always keep the locking pin engaged
when you are not adjusting the chassis.
This will prevent the foot pedal being
operated accidentally.
For children over the weight of 27kg
(60lbs), raising the manual chassis is
a 2 person lift (UK lifting and handling
regulations).
Always use caution as hands could
become trapped when height adjusting
the base.
8.3 Height Adjustment
– Hi-low chassis
You can carry out this adjustment with the
child in the chair. To adjust the height of the
Hi-low chassis press the foot lever at the
rear of the chassis for the gas spring version
and repeatedly for the hydraulic version and
lift pedal up to lower the chassis, or press
the up button on the handset of the powered
option whilst holding the push handle.
Once you remove your foot from the pedal
or your thumb from the handset the seat will
be fixed at the chosen height.
For safety the height adjustment pedal on
the chassis can be locked by engaging
the pull pin (C) on the right hand side of
the pedal. The height adjustment pedal on
the hydraulic chassis should be pushed in
when the required height adjustment has
been achieved. To unlock pull the pin out
and rotate 90 degrees, the pedal can then
be operated. The locking pin (C) should be
kept in the locked position when you are not
adjusting the chassis.

8.4 Tilt in space
The tilt in space can be angled while the
user is in the seat. Before you adjust the tilt
in space angle of the seat always ensure the
pelvic harness is secured preventing the user
from sliding forward in the seat.
To adjust the tilt angle press the lever under
the seat base. Once you have selected the
angle you require, by simply removing your
hand from the lever, the chair will be locked
in position. The tilt in space should be
locked off while the user is in the seat. To
lock the lever twist the pull pin to the right
hand side of the lever and the pin will pop
into position. You may have to lift the lever
slightly to allow it to lock. To unlock pull the
pin out and rotate 90 degrees, the lever can
then be operated.
Always keep the tilt in space lever
in the locked position to prevent
accidental actuation of the lever which
could cause the seat unit to jolt and
possibly cause injury to the child.
Please use handle bars when operating
tilt in space.
Always check with your therapist that
the use of tilt in space will not cause
any obstructions to the child’s airways.

9 Cleaning & Care
Information
How to Maintain
When cleaning we recommend that you
use only warm water and a non-abrasive
detergent. Never use organic solvents or dry
cleaning fluids.
Metal and plastic components
1. Soap and water or antibacterial spray can
be used for daily cleaning.
2. For deep cleaning a low pressure steam
cleaner can be used.
3. Do not use solvents to clean plastic or
metal components.
4. Make sure the product is dry before use.
10 Daily Product
Inspection
(Therapists, parents & carers)
We recommend that daily visual checks of
the equipment are carried out by therapists,
carers or parents to ensure the product is
safe for use. The recommended daily checks
are detailed below.
1. Ensure all adjustment knobs and bolts are
in place and secure.
2. Check all castors are moving freely and
lock securely.
3. Ensure the handle and locking pin on the
seat interface plate is fully engaged and the
seat unit is securely fixed onto the chassis.

11 Annual Product
Inspection
(Therapist, Technician, Leckey Product
Advisor, Dealer)
Leckey recommend that each product should
be subject to a detailed inspection at least
once a year and every time the product is
reissued for use. This inspection should
be carried out by a technically competent
person who has been trained in the use of
the product and should include the following
checks as a minimum requirement.
1. Check all knobs, nuts and bolts are in
place, replacing any missing items.
2. Check the chassis height adjustment
mechanism is working properly. If the
chassis is foot pedal operated ensure the
seat height doesn’t change when the pedal
is released. Also, check that the locking
pin engages securely to prevent accidental
height adjustment of the chassis.
3. Adjust the seat to its maximum range of
tilt in space and ensure that the locking lever
locks the seat out securely at varying point in
this range.
4. Check that where the seat and chassis
join there is no visible wear and tear on the
metal components.
5. Lift the base to check each castor
individually. Make sure they are moving
freely and remove any dirt from the rubber
wheels. Check that the brakes lock the
wheels securely.
6. Visually check the structure of the
product paying attention to weld points
on the frame ensuring there are no signs
of fatigue or cracking around the welds.
7. Leckey recommend that a written
record is maintained of all annual
product inspections.

12 Re-issuing Leckey
Products
Most Leckey products are assessed and
ordered to meet the needs of an individual
user. Before reissuing a product we
recommend that the therapist prescribing
the product has carried out an equipment
compatibility check for the new user and
has ensured that the product being
re-issued contains no modifications or
special attachments.
A detailed technical inspection should be
carried out on the product prior to re-issuing.
This should be carried out by a technically
competent person who has been trained
in the use and inspection of the product.
Please refer to section 11 for the required
checks to be carried out.
Ensure the product has been cleaned
thoroughly in accordance with section 9 of
this manual.
Ensure a copy of the user manual is supplied
with the product. A copy can be downloaded
from our website www.leckey.com
Leckey recommend that a written record is
maintained of all product inspections carried out
during the reissue of the product.

1. Destinazione d’uso
La base Hi-low è stata progettata per l’uso
in interni e in esterni. Non è stato previsto
l’uso durante i trasporti e non è stata
sottoposta al crash test. Non dovrebbe
mai essere esposta alle intemperie dal
momento che i componenti in metallo si
potrebbero corrodere. La base per interni
presenta 4 piccole ruote e deve essere
utilizzata unicamente in interni.
La base per interni / esterni presenta
due piccole ruote anteriori e due ruote
posteriori più grandi e può essere
utilizzata sia in interni che in esterni.
2. Dichiarazione di Conformità
Il produttore, James Leckey Design Ltd,
dichiara, sotto la propria responsabilità,
che la base per interni / esterni è
conforme ai requisiti della direttiva 93/42/
CEE, del Regolamento sui Dispositivi

6.1 Prima dell’uso leggere sempre con
attenzione le istruzioni.
6.2 Per una maggiore sicurezza, mentre
si usano le attrezzature Leckey, si
consiglia di non lasciare mai soli gli
utenti.
6.3 Utilizzate, per il vostro prodotto,
solamente parti originali Leckey. Non
apportare in nessun caso e in nessun
modo modifiche al prodotto. La mancata
osservanza e corretta esecuzione delle
istruzioni d’ uso potrebbe esporre
l’utente o l’assistente a rischi e
invalidare la garanzia sul prodotto.
6.4 Nel caso di qualsiasi dubbio
sulla sicurezza nell’ utilizzo del
vostro ausilio Leckey o qualora
dovessero danneggiarsi delle parti o
dei componenti, si prega di cessarne
immediatamente l’ utilizzo e di
contattare subito il servizio clienti o il
vostro rivenditore di fiducia.
6.5 Effettuare tutte le regolazioni e
assicurarsi che esse siano fissate in
modo sicuro prima di utilizzare l’ ausilio
con una persona. Alcune regolazioni
potrebbero richiedere l’ utilizzo di una
chiave esagonale multiuso che è fornita
con ogni prodotto. Tenere tutti gli
attrezzi fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
6.6 Quando il prodotto è fermo,
assicurarsi che tutte le rotelle siano
bloccate e non siano rivolte verso l’
interno della base: questo aumenterà la
stabilità del prodotto. Ciò è importante
in special modo quando basculate e/o
reclinate il sistema di postura.
6.7 Quando si utilizza il sistema di
postura con la base Hi-low, assicurarsi
che il pedale per la regolazione dell’
altezza e la leva per il basculamento
siano bloccate con gli appositi sistemi di
sicurezza e non possano essere azionati
accidentalmente da altri. Quando si
utilizza la base Easy, assicurarsi che la
maniglia per la regolazione dell’altezza
e la leva del basculamento siano
bloccate e non possano essere azionate
involontariamente da altri.
6.8 Quando si utilizza il sistema di
postura con la base Hi-low o con la base
Easy, si raccomanda di non spostare le
persone su superfici irregolari. Devono
essere prese tutte le dovute precauzioni
per i trasferimenti da e per il sistema di
postura.
6.9 Non lasciare mai il prodotto su
superfici con pendenze superiori ai 5
gradi. Ricordarsi sempre di bloccare, in
modo sicuro,tutte le rotelle.
6.10 Utilizzare solo il maniglione di
spinta per spostare l’ausilio. Non
utilizzare in nessun caso il tavolino a
questo scopo.
6 Informazioni sulla sicurezza

6.15 Controllare sempre che le
manopole di fissaggio del maniglione
di spinta siano ben serrate prima di
muovere l’unità di postura.
6.16 Prima di utilizzare il sistema di
postura, controllare sempre che la
maniglia di aggancio della seduta al
telaio della base sia perfettamente
incastrata. Assicurarsi che il perno di
sicurezza sia inserito correttamente
in modo che la maniglia non possa
staccarsi accidentalmente. Se la
maniglia non è incastrata correttamente,
l’unità di postura potrebbe staccarsi
causando seri danni al bambino e/o
all’assistente.
6.17 Questi prodotti non sono stati
sottoposti al crash test, quindi non
devono essere usati durante i trasporti.

6.11 Il prodotto contiene componenti
che potrebbero costituire un rischio di
soffocamento per bambini più piccini.
Controllare sempre che le manopole
e i bulloni di bloccaggio raggiungibili
dai bambini siano sempre ben serrati e
saldi.
6.12 I prodotti Leckey sono conformi alle
norme antincendio EN 12182. Tuttavia, il
prodotto contiene componenti in plastica
e, quindi, dovrebbe essere tenuto
lontano da tutte le fonti dirette di calore
come fiamme libere, sigarette, radiatori
elettrici e a gas.
6.13 Pulire regolarmente il prodotto. Non
utilizzare oggetti o detergenti abrasivi.

6.14 La base Hi-low è stata progettata
per l’uso in interni e in esterni. La base
per interni presenta 4 piccole ruote e
deve essere utilizzata unicamente in
interni. La base per interni / esterni
presenta due piccole ruote anteriori e
due ruote posteriori più grandi e può
essere utilizzata sia in interni che in
esterni. Quando non viene utilizzata,
deve essere conservata in un luogo
asciutto, non soggetto a temperature
eccessivamente calde o fredde. La
temperatura di lavoro ottimale del
prodotto è compresa tra +5°C e +40°C.

Quando si fissa l’unità di postura, regolare la
base all’altezza massima per ridurre il rischio
di movimenti dannosi per la schiena dell’
operatore. Fare riferimento alla sezione 8 su
come regolare l’altezza della base acquistata.
(Si prega di notare che le foto e il testo fanno
riferimento a interfacce di sistemi di postura
Leckey. Per tutti gli altri sistemi di postura,
fare riferimento al manuale del produttore).
Innanzitutto, sbloccare il perno di sicurezza
posto nella parte anteriore del sedile. Per
effettuare questa operazione, tirare il perno
verso l’ esterno e ruotarlo di 90 gradi. Quindi
sollevare il sedile con cura e posizionarlo
sulla base. Nella zona posteriore della
parte sottostante il sedile, potete vedere
il ricevitore. Posizionatelo sopra il tubo
trasversale presente nella parte posteriore
del telaio della base; quindi reclinate in
avanti e in basso tutto il sedile dopo aver
azionato la maniglia di aggancio fino a farlo
incastrare in modo sicuro. Una volta che la
parte anteriore del sedile è completamente
abbassata, rilasciate la maniglia e spingetela
in avanti per assicurarsi che sia ben fissa.
Ruotate il perno di sicurezza così da farlo
scattare nella posizione di blocco. Se batte
contro la maniglia, allora il sedile non è stato
inserito correttamente: spostarlo e ripetere il
procedimento descritto sopra.
Controllare sempre che la maniglia di
aggancio e i perni di sicurezza siano
ben fissati prima di fare sedere il
bambino sul sistema di postura. Se la
maniglia di aggancio non è fissata in
modo appropriato, l’unità di seduta si
potrebbe sganciare causando seri danni
al bambino e/o all’assistente.
7.1 Fissare il sistema di
postura alla base Hi-low 7.2 Fissare la maniglia di spinta
La maniglia di spinta viene fissata alla base
Hi-low inserendo le due aste inferiori nelle
guide come illustrato. La maniglia di spinta
presenta dei bottoni automatici di sicurezza
(A) che devono essere premuti quando si
inserisce l’asta inferiore. Sulla base Hi-low,
spingere le aste finché gli automatici
fuoriescono dall’altra parte delle guide.
Sulla base Easy gli automatici si innesteranno
nei fori presenti nella guida. Dopodiché,
fissare la maniglia di spinta stringendo le due
manopole laterali (B).
Controllare che le manopole siano ben
serrate prima di spostare il prodotto,
in particolare se si sposta l’unità di
seduta lungo corridoi che potrebbero
presentare superfici irregolari o in
pendenza.

Regolazioni
frequenti
nell’uso
quotidiano
(Terapisti,
genitori e
assistenti)
E’ opportuno mostrare a genitori,
terapisti ed assistenti come
effettuare le regolazioni di uso
più frequente ed informarli circa
i controlli di sicurezza di cui
alla sezione 6. Tutto questo
deve essere fatto da personale
tecnicamente e clinicamente
competente che sia stato
opportunamente istruito all’
uso del prodotto. La Leckey,
raccomanda inoltre che venga
tenuto un dossier scritto di tutto il
personale istruito all’ uso
(genitori, terapisti, assistenti).
8.1 Basi
Il presente manuale fa vedere l’uso corretto e
sicuro della base Hi-low.
Per preparare la base Hi Low ad accogliere
il sistema di seduta, si consiglia di alzare
la base in modo che raggiunga un’altezza
di lavoro confortevole spingendo la leva a
pedale presente nella parte posteriore della
base o azionando il tasto presente sulla
pulsantiera di controllo nella versione a
regolazione elettrica.
8.2 Versione con
regolazione elettrica
dell’altezza della base
La versione a funzionamento elettrico
della base può essere facilmente regolata
grazie all’apposita tastiera di controllo. La
regolazione dell’ altezza della seduta può
essere effettuata anche con l’utente seduto.
Quando si utilizza il prodotto per la prima
volta si raccomanda di lasciare caricare la
batteria per almeno 12 ore prima di utilizzarla.
Per far ciò, inserire il caricabatterie nella
presa elettrica e inserire il cavetto elettrico
nell’ apposito alloggiamento (A) della
batteria. Quando la ricarica sarà ultimata,
scollegare il cavetto dalla batteria e rimuovere
il caricabatterie dalla presa di corrente. E’
opportuno che la batteria sia messa in carica
per almeno un’ora al giorno. La regolazione in
altezza della base può essere effettuata anche
mentre la batteria è sotto carica.

Leva a pedale

Tenere sempre in posizione di
bloccaggio il perno di sicurezza quando
non si effettuano regolazioni della base.
Questo eviterà che il pedale possa
venire azionato accidentalmente.
Prestare sempre la massima attenzione
per evitare che le mani possano
rimanere intrappolate durante le
operazioni di regolazione dell’altezza
della base.
Prima di effettuare tali regolazioni,
assicurarsi sempre che la cinghia
pelvica sia ben fissata per evitare
che l’utente scivoli in avanti anche
accidentalmente
8.3 Regolazione dell’altezza
della seduta — Base Hi-low
È possibile effettuare questa regolazione
con il bambino seduto. Per regolare
l’altezza della base Hi-low, spingere la leva
a pedale dietro alla base nella versione con
molla a gas, spingere ripetutamente nella
versione idraulica, quindi alzare il pedale
per abbassare la base o premere il bottone
superiore del telecomando nella versione
motorizzata tenendo ferma la maniglia di
spinta. Dopo aver tolto il piede dal pedale o il
pollice dal telecomando, il sedile si sistemerà
all’altezza desiderata.
Per sicurezza, il pedale per la regolazione
dell’altezza presente sulla base può essere
bloccato inserendo il perno estraibile (C) sulla
destra del pedale. Smettere di spingere il
pedale per la regolazione dell’altezza nella
base idraulica non appena si raggiunge
l’altezza desiderata. Per sbloccare, estrarre
il perno e ruotarlo di 90 gradi, si potrà quindi
azionare il pedale. Il perno estraibile (C)
dovrebbe essere mantenuto nella posizione
di bloccaggio quando non si regola la base.
8.4 Regolazione del
basculamento
La regolazione del basculamento può essere
effettuata mentre l’utente è seduto. Prima
di regolare il basculamento, assicurarsi
sempre che la Cinghia Pelvica sia ben fissata
per evitare che l’utente possa scivolare
accidentalmente.
Per regolare il basculamento azionare la
leva posta sulla base, sotto il sedile; una
volta raggiunto il grado di basculamento
desiderato, rilasciare la leva e il sistema di
postura si bloccherà in quella posizione.
Quando il bambino è seduto sul sistema
di postura, il sistema di bloccaggio del
basculamento dovrebbe essere sempre
inserito; per far ciò girare il perno di sicurezza
fino a quando non si bloccherà nell’ apposita
sede. Per sbloccarlo tirare il perno in fuori e
ruotarlo di 90° gradi; in questo modo la leva
di regolazione sarà nuovamente operativa.
Tenere sempre il perno di sicurezza
nella posizione di bloccaggio per
evitare che la leva venga attivata
accidentalmente facendo sobbalzare
l’unità di seduta e causando possibili
danni al bambino.
Utilizzare sempre la maniglia di spinta
quando si regola il basculamento.
Controllare sempre col proprio terapista
che l’utilizzo di gradi di basculamento
eccessivi non provochino problemi
respiratori o di deglutizione per il
bambino.

9 Informazioni
sulla pulizia e sulla
manutenzione
Manutenzione
Quando si pulisce il prodotto, si consiglia di
utilizzare solo acqua calda e detergenti non
abrasivi. Non usare mai solventi organici o
liquidi per la pulizia a secco.
Componenti in metallo e plastica
1. Per la pulizia quotidiana è possibile
utilizzare acqua e sapone o spray battericidi.
2. Per una pulizia più profonda, si può
utilizzare un pulitore a vapore a bassa
pressione.
3. Non usare solventi per pulire componenti
in plastica o metallo.
4. Assicurarsi che il prodotto sia asciutto
prima dell’uso.
10 Controllo quotidiano
del prodotto
(Terapisti, genitori e assistenti)
Si consiglia a terapisti, genitori o assistenti
di effettuare controlli visivi quotidiani
dell’ausilio, per assicurarsi che il prodotto
possa essere utilizzato in sicurezza. I controlli
quotidiani consigliati sono elencati sotto.
1. Assicurarsi che tutte le manopole di
regolazione e i bulloni siano in posizione e
ben stretti.
2. Controllare che tutte le ruote si muovano
liberamente e che possano essere bloccate
in sicurezza.
3. Assicurarsi che la maniglia e il perno di
sicurezza per il bloccaggio presenti sulla
piastra di interfaccia dell’unità di postura
siano ben agganciati e che l’unità di postura
sia fissata saldamente alla base.
Nel caso di qualsiasi dubbio sulla
sicurezza nell’uso continuativo del
vostro prodotto Leckey o qualora
dovesse danneggiarsi qualche parte
o componente, si prega di cessare
l’ utilizzo dell’ ausilio e contattare
immediatamente il servizio clienti
o il vostro rivenditore di fiducia.

11 Ispezione annuale
del prodotto
(Terapista, rivenditore)
Leckey raccomanda di sottoporre ogni
prodotto ad una scrupolosa ispezione
almeno una volta all’ anno. Tale ispezione
deve essere effettuata da personale
tecnicamente e clinicamente competente che
sia stato adeguatamente istruito all’ utilizzo
del prodotto e dovrebbe includere i seguenti
controlli come requisito minimo.
1. Controllare che manopole, bulloni e siano
ai loro posti, sostituendo le parti mancanti.
2. Controllare che il meccanismo di
regolazione dell’altezza della base funzioni
correttamente Se la base viene regolata
tramite pedale, assicurarsi che l’altezza del
sedile non cambi quando il pedale viene
rilasciato. Inoltre, controllare che il perno
di bloccaggio si incastri correttamente per
evitare la regolazione accidentale dell’altezza
della base.
3. Verificare che il dispositivo di bascula
mento funzioni correttamente, assicurando
una buona tenuta anche nelle posizioni
intermedie.
4. Controllare che sul sedile e/o sul telaio
non vi siano visibili segni di usura o rottura
dei componenti metallici.
5. Sollevare la base per controllare
singolarmente ogni ruota. Controllare che si
muovano in modo scorrevole e rimuovere
ogni accumulo di sporcizia. Controllare che i
freni blocchino le ruote in modo sicuro.
6. Controllare visivamente la struttura del
prodotto, prestando attenzione ai punti di
saldatura sul telaio, assicurandosi che non
ci siano segni di fatica o cedimenti intorno ai
punti di saldatura.
7. Leckey consiglia di tenere un dossier
scritto di tutte le ispezioni annuali del
prodotto.
Nel caso di qualsiasi dubbio sulla
sicurezza nell’uso continuativo del
vostro prodotto Leckey o qualora
dovesse danneggiarsi qualche parte
o componente, si prega di cessare
l’ utilizzo dell’ ausilio e contattare
immediatamente il servizio clienti o il
vostro rivenditore di fiducia.
12 Ri-distribuzione dei
prodotti Leckey
La maggior parte dei prodotti Leckey
vengono scelti, valutati e ordinati per
soddisfare i bisogni di un singolo utente.
Prima di rimettere in circolazione o di
riassegnare un prodotto, consigliamo che
un medico o un terapista valuti molto
attentamente la compatibilità dell’ausilio
con le esigenze posturali e funzionali del
nuovo utente e che si assicuri che il prodotto
riassegnato non presenti modifiche o
accessori speciali.
Sarebbe opportuno effettuare un controllo
tecnico dettagliato sul prodotto prima di
riassegnarlo. Tale controllo dovrebbe essere
effettuato da personale tecnico competente,
formato sull’uso e al controllo del prodotto.
Si prega di fare riferimento alla sezione 11
per i controlli necessari.
Assicurarsi che il prodotto sia stato pulito
accuratamente in conformità con la sezione
9 del presente manuale.
Assicurarsi che una copia del manuale
d’uso venga fornita assieme al prodotto.
