UNDERSTANDING THECONTROLFUNCTIONS
QUICK SETUP
FullyextendtheTelescopicantenna toensuregoodreceptioninbothDABandFMRadiomodes. Itmaybe
necessary toalterthepositionoftheDABDigitalRadioand/ortheTelescopicantenna toachievethebestsignal.
1.Connect the powercabletothe inputinthe side ofthe PR2 and then plug the cableintoan outletor
insert the four “AA”batteriesintothe battery compartment topoweron.
2.Fullyextend the reartelescoping antenna.
3.Press the Powerbutton on the fronttoturnthe PR2 on.
4.Whenpowered on forthe first timeinDAB mode,the PR2 willinitiatean autoscan.When complete,
The displaywillindicatehowmanystationswerereceived.Besuretherearantennaisfullyextendedduringthe
autoscan.
5.Press the frontpanelSourcebutton toselectthe desired source.
6.Adjust the volumetothedesired levelusing the rotary knob at the side.
7.InDAB mode,the TUNE+/TUNE- button allowsyou tonavigatebetween differentstations. Push
ENTERknob tochoosethe stationsyou want tolisten to.

1.POWER(TurnON/OFF/STANDBY):
1)Pushtopowerthe PR2 OnorOff (Standby).When powered on forthe
firsttimeinDAB mode,Itwillautomaticallyscan fortheavailableradiostationsto
fig.1.

2)WhenyourPR2 isusing poweradapter, pressPOWERbutton to
switch ‘on and ‘standby tofig.2. Unplug the poweradaptertoturnoff yourPR2 completely.
3)WhenyourPR2 isusing batteries, press POWERbuttontoswitch ‘on
and ‘off .
2.SOURCE: Brieflypress tocyclethrough the sources: DAB,FM.
1)InFMmode,PR2 will tune tothe startofthe availableFMrange (87.50MHz)
orthe last FMstation listed tofig.3.
2)Tomanuallychange theFMfrequency,makesurethatyou havenotselected
anyothersub-menus.TurntheTUNE+/TUNE-tochange the frequency by
0.05MHz.
3.ALARM/SCAN: Brieflypress alarmbutton tocyclethrough Alarm1setup and Alarm2setup, Rotateand
pressthe Volumeknob intoadjust and setthe hourand minutesand press intoset and movetothenext
setting.
InDAB/FMmode, press and holdSCANbutton,itwillautomaticallyscan forthe availableradiostations.
4.PRESET:Preset20 DABstationsand20 FMfavoritestations.
1.Storeastation tothe preset list -tostoreastation,selected your
desired radiostation,then press and holdthe PRESET button fora
secondsuntil the LCD display “Preset store#:(Empty)”tofig.17,or“#:
saved radiostation”tofig.18.Thereare20 DAB presetsand 20 FMpresets.
Eitherpress the TUNE+/TUNE-button toselectyourdesired station preset
number,Pushon the ENTERbuttontoconfirmyourselection,the
displaywillshow “Preset #Stored”tofig.19.
Recall astationfromthePresetlist
1.Torecallapreset station,press the “PRESET”button once, orrotatethe
TUNE+/TUNE –buttontoselectpresetsstation that youhavestored.When the
displayshowsyourdesired preset numberpushENTERbutton toconfirm.
Note: If you chooseapreset that hasn t been allocated astation,then “Empty”willbe displayed.
5.Menu/Info: When inDAB mode,brieflypress repeatedlytoviewDLS(DynamicLabel Segment), signal
strength, PTY(ProgrammeType), ensemble,frequency, signal quality, bitratecodec,time, date.InFMmode,
viewradiotext,PTY(ProgrammeType),PS (ProgrammeService),stereo/mono, time, dateetc.
6.TUNE+/TUNE- Choosing radiostationsoroptions
Ifthe PR2 isinDAB mode, press TUNE+/TUNE- buttontocyclethrough the radiostation list when you are
listening.Orpress TUNE+/TUNE-button tocyclethrough the menu listforoptions.
Ifthe PR2isinFMmode,press TUNE+/TUNE-buttontomanuallyadjustthe frequency by0.05MHz.Oryou can
pressand holdTUNE+/TUNE- button toauto-scan stations.Orpress TUNE+/TUNE-button tocyclethrough the
menu listforoptions.
7.VOLUME +/VOLUME-button: Turnthe Volumedial toincreaseordecreasethe volume.The volumeknob
mayalsobe used tonavigatewhen inthe station List.
DABmode
1.Ifthe DABDigitalRadioisinDABmode,press and holdMENU/INFO buttontoenterthe menu list tofig.4.
Press the TUNE+/TUNE-button toselectoption through the list ofmenu.Then,stop atyourpreferred option
and Pushthe ENTERbutton toconfirm.The menu optionsare: fullscan,manual tune,DRC, prune, system.
2.Full scan –undermenu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect “Full
scan“through the list ofmenu,PushENTERbuttontoconfirmand fullscan starts

automaticallytofig.4.Onceascan iscompleted,the radioreturnstoplaythe previously-selected station or
first station on
the station list.
Note: if no radiostation found, it shows “No DAB station”. Forabetter
reception, extend the antenna ordo the fullscan againinanotherplace.
3.Manualtune –aswell asthe normalmethod ofscanning,you can alsomanually
tune toaparticularchannel/frequency.Thiscan be usefulforadjusting your
antenna toachievethe bestpossiblereception and scanning aparticularchannel
toupdatethe station list.Undermenu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE-buttonto
select “Manual tune”through the list ofmenu,PushENTERbutton toconfirm.
Then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect aparticularchannel/frequency
and then PushENTERbuttontoconfirmthe setting tofig.5.The displayshowsaliveindicationofthe received
signalstrengthon the selected frequency.Adjustmentstoyourantenna will be manifested inthe received
signalstrengthdisplayed.
4.DRC (Dynamicrange compression) –thisfunction reducesthe difference
between the loudest and quietest audiobeing broadcast. Effectively,thismakes
quiet soundscomparativelylouderand loud soundscomparativelyquieter.
Options:off (default)/high/lowundermenulist, press theTUNE+/TUNE-button to
select “DRC”through thelistofmenu,PushENTERbutton toconfirm.Thenpress
the TUNE+/TUNE-buttontoselectaparticularsetting and PushENTERbutton to
confirmthe setting tofig.6.
Note: DRC onlyworksifitisenabled bythe broadcasterforaspecificstation.
5.Prune –thisremovesall invalidstationsindicatedinthestation list witha ‘?in
front of the station name.Undermenu list,press the TUNE+/TUNE- button to
select “Prune”through the list ofmenu,PushENTERbutton toconfirmtofig.7.
Then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect<Yes>, and PushENTERbutton
toconfirm.
6.System –the Systemmenu optionsare:sleep,time,backlight,language,factory,
reset, SWversion tofig.8.
6.1Sleep –when listeningtothe radioyou can set aperiod oftimebeforethe
radioenters ‘standby mode.
Note: the radiomust beactiveand notin ‘standby modealready.
Underthe systemmenu,press the TUNE+/TUNE-button toselect “Sleep”
through the list ofmenu,press ENTERbutton toconfirmtofig.9.Then press
the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect<sleep off / 15mins/ 30mins/ 45mins/ 60mins/ 90mins>,and Push
ENTERbutton toconfirm.
6.2.Time –if thereisanyDAB+radiosignal,the machine willautomatically
updatethe time,thereisno signal,can alsobe setmanuallytofig.10.
*Set Time/Date: set hour/ setminute/ setmonth/set date>set year>saved
*Autoupdateoptions: updatefromAny/updatefromDAB /updatefromFM/no
update
*Set 12/24 hour: 12hour/24 hours
*Set dateformat:DD-MM-YYYY/MM-DD-YYYYCyclethrough Timemenu by
Pushthe ENTERbutton, selectaparticularoption,and Pushthe ENTERbutton changes.
6.3. Backlight –thisradiodisplayhasabacklightwhichcan be adjustable.You
can select the timeoutofthe displaybacklightofyourradio. Underthe system
menu,press the TUNE+/TUNE-button toselect “Backlight”through the list of
menu,Pushthe ENTERbutton toconfirmtofig.11.Youcan nowusethe
TUNE+/TUNE-button,then press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect <10sec/
20sec/30sec/45sec/60sec/90sec/120sec/180sec/On>,and PushENTER
button toconfirm.
6.4. Language –the language used fordisplaymessagescan be selected from
belowoptions: English|Francais|Deutsch|Norsk|NederlandsUnderthe

systemmenu, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect “Language”through the list ofmenu,Pushthe
ENTERbutton toconfirmtofig.12.Cyclethrough Language menu bypress the TUNE+/TUNE- button,select
and stop at aparticularlanguage, Pushthe ENTERbutton toconfirm.
6.5.Factory Reset –thisfunction clearsalluserdefined settings,replacing them
withthe originaldefaultvalues, sotime/date,preferences/settings, DAB station
list and preset stationsarealllost. Underthe systemmenu, pressthe
TUNE+/TUNE-button toselect “FactoryReset”through the listofmenu,Pushthe
ENTERbutton toconfirmtofig.13.Then, usethe TUNE+/TUNE- button to
choose<Yes>and Pushthe ENTERbutton tostart thefactoryreset.
6.6. Software version –thisisused todisplaythe current softwareversion.
Underthe systemmenu,press the TUNE+/TUNE-button toselect “Software
version”through the listofmenu fig.14,Pushthe ENTERbutton toconfirm.Then,
the existing SWversion willbe showed.
FMmode
1. If the PR2 isinFMmode, press and holdMENU/INFO button toenterthe menulist tofig.15.Press the
TUNE+/TUNE-button toselectoption through the listofmenu.Then,stop atyourpreferred option and Pushthe
ENTERbutton toconfirm.The menu optionsare: scan setting, audiosetting,and system.
2. Scansetting- bydefault,FMscansstop at anyavailablestation (Allstations).
Thismayresultinpoorqualityaudiofromweakstations.
Options: Strong stationsonly/Allstationsundermenu list, press the
TUNE+/TUNE-button toselectaparticularoption in “Scan setting”,then Pushthe
ENTERbutton toconfirmthe change tonewsetting tofig.15.
3. Audio setting -bydefault,allstereo stationsarereproduced instereo.Forweakstations, thismayresultin
poorqualityaudio.The audioqualitycan beimprovedusing mono.Options: Stereo allowed |Forced mono
Undermenu list, press the TUNE+/TUNE- button toselect aparticularoption in “Audiosetting”tofig.16,then
Pushthe ENTERbutton toconfirmthechange tonewsetting.It willautomaticallychange tonewsetting after3
seconds.
