1. Microphones Capture or record sound and voice.
2. Ambient light sensor (ALS) Detect the ambient lighting and adjust the brightness of the screen
and ke board automaticall .
Note: Automatic light adjustment can be turned off in Windows
Settings ➙ System ➙ Display.
3. Infrared LED Emit infrared light for face authentication.
4. Camera • Capture still and moving images for taking photos, recording
videos, and video chatting.
• Capture our face images for face authentication.
Note: Use Windows Hello to enroll our face for face
authentication.
5. Camera light If the light is on, the camera is in use.
6. Time of flight (ToF) sensor Detect human presence in front of the computer for facilitating zero
touch and other convenient features. See “Laser safet for the ToF
sensor” on page 10.

7. Screen Displa text, graphics, and videos. Selected models support multi-
touch function.
8. Wireless antennas Send and receive radio waves for the built-in wireless LAN (local area
network) and Bluetooth module.
Notes:
• The antennas are not visible from the outside of the computer.
• If the location of the antennas is close to the user’s bod (< 20 cm),
ou can find the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) values in the Setup
Guide that comes with our computer.

1. Combo audio jack
Connect headphones or headsets with a 3.5 mm (0.14 inch), 4-pole
plug.
Note: This jack does not support standalone external microphones. If
ou use headsets, choose one with a single plug.
2. USB (3.2 Gen 1) T pe-A connector
(alwa s-on)
The alwa s-on connector can charge external devices when the
computer is turned off, in sleep or hibernation mode. The alwa s-on
function can be turned on or off in the UEFI/BIOS setup utilit .
Note: If Lenovo Vantage is pre-installed on our computer, ou can
also set alwa s-on function from within that software.
3. Power button Press the button to turn on the computer or put the computer into
sleep mode.
4. Power light
Indicate the power and batter status of the computer.
• On: the computer is turned on.
• Off: the computer is turned off or in hibernation mode.
• Blinking: the computer is in sleep mode.

CAUTION:
When the comp ter is operating, it sho ld be placed on a hard and flat s rface with its bottom area
not in contact with ser’s bare skin. Under normal operating conditions, the temperat re of the
bottom s rface will remain within an acceptable range as defined in IEC 62368-1, b t s ch
temperat res can still be high eno gh to ca se discomfort or harm to the ser if directly to ched for
over xx at a time. As s ch, it is recommended that sers avoid prolonged direct contact with the
bottom of the comp ter.
Note: Some Lenovo computers include a displa that can be rotated 360 degrees. When those products are
used as a tablet computer, the temperatures of all the accessible parts are within an acceptable range as
defined in IEC 62368-1.
Laser safety for the ToF sensor
This device is classified as a Class 1 laser product per EN/IEC 6 825-1:2 14. This device complies with FDA
performance standards for laser products except for conformance with IEC 6 825-1 Ed. 3, as described in
Laser Notice No. 56, dated Ma 8, 2019.
CAUTION:

Work with Windows
The following table contains Windows frequentl used settings. You can learn the basics and start working
with Windows right awa .
To configure settings, t pe the corresponding ke words in the Windows search box and select the best
match. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize settings.

For models with a wireless LAN module, ou can connect our computer to
a Wi-Fi® network. Click the network icon in the Windows notification area,
and then select a network for connection.
Note: The wireless LAN module on our computer ma support different
standards. For some countries or regions, use of 802.11ax ma be disabled
according to local regulations.

Airplane mode Airplane mode is a convenient setting to turn all wireless communications of
our computer on and off. You ma need to turn it on when boarding an
airplane.

Night light mode Night light is a switch in Windows that ou can turn on and off. When it is
turned on, our screen shows warmer colors and the amount of emitted
blue light is reduced. Enabling night light reduces the chances of developing
e e fatigue or e e strain.

If night light mode is turned on, ou can adjust the color temperature of the
screen.
Note: Selected Lenovo computers are low blue light certified. These
computers are tested with night light turned on and color temperature set to
the default value of 48.

Updates
Microsoft periodicall releases feature and securit updates to the Windows
operating s stem. Updates that are applicable to our Windows version are
downloaded automaticall when our computer is connected to the
Internet. When updates are downloaded, ou are prompted to restart the
computer to install these updates. You can also manuall check if there are
available updates for the installed version of Windows.
Attention: Onl use Windows Update to download and install updates.
Updates downloaded from other sources ma include securit risks.

Touch ke board In stand, tent, or tablet mode, the ph sical ke board of our computer is
disabled to prevent inadvertent t ping. In these three modes, Windows
touch ke board is automaticall displa ed when text input is required. If not,
select the touch ke board icon ( ) in the Windows notification area.

Tablet mode Windows provides a tablet mode that makes touch operations more user-
friendl . When rotating our computer screen to switch to tablet, stand, or
tent mode, ou will be prompted to switch to Windows tablet mode. You
can also select the tablet mode icon in the Windows notification area to turn
on or off Windows tablet mode manuall .

In stand, tent, or tablet mode, auto rotation is turned on so that the
orientation of the screen changes based on how ou place or hold the
computer. To keep the screen in a fixed orientation, ou can select the
rotation lock icon in the Windows notification area to turn on rotation lock.
Note: Rotation lock is disabled in notebook mode.

If the on-screen instructions cannot solve our problem, refer to the following to get the online Windows help
information.
• T pe Get Help or Tips in the Windows search box and then press Enter. When the app opens, t pe the
problem description and select the matched result.
• Visit Microsoft support Web site: https://support.microsoft.com. Enter what ou are looking for in the
search box and get search results.
Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo PC Manager
The are both apps developed b Lenovo. Using either of them, ou can:
• View product information and s stem status
• Manage and change device settings
• Check for and perform s stem update
Note: This feature is onl available on Lenovo Vantage. In Lenovo PC Manager, ou can check for and
perform driver update.
Depending on the countr or region in which our computer is purchased, one of the apps ma be pre-
installed on our computer. To open it, t pe its name in the Windows Search box and select the matched
result. If neither of the apps is pre-installed, ou ma install one on our own. Lenovo Vantage is available for
download free of charge from the Microsoft Store.
Note: App features are subject to change with updates and specific features ma not be available on all
Lenovo products.
