Onvehiclesequippedwiththenewfactory9-inchrearseatDVDvideoscreen,theRearSeat
Entertainment(RSE)LockfunctionmaycausetheDVDscreentobeblankifthisfunctionisturned
on.Additionally,aDVDcannotbeinsertedorejectedfromthesystemwhentherearlockisturned
on.UsethefollowingproceduretounlocktheRearSeatEntertainment.

1.Confirmthecustomer’scomplaintofDVDRSEsysteminoperative.
2.ForvehicleswithLexusNavigationSystem,performthefollowingproceduretoturnOFFthe
RSELockfunction:
A.PresstheINFObuttontodisplaythe“Information”screenonthenavigationunit.
B.Pressthe“ScreenSetting”touchbuttononthenavigationdisplay.
C.Underthe“RearLock”option,pressthe“OFF”touchbuttonandthenpress“OK”inthe
upperrightpartofthedisplay.
D.PresstheDVDswitchontheRSEsystem,(IfaDVDisNOTalreadyintheplayer,insertone)
andconfirmscreenis“ON”andthesystemwillplayDVD’s.

3.ForvehicleswithoutLexusNavigationSystem,performtheproceduretoturn“OFF”the
RSELockfunction.
A.Pushtheaudiocontrolknobmultipletimestocyclethroughthevariousoptions(Bass,Mid,
Treble,etc.)until“RearLock”isshownonthescreen.
B.Turntheaudiocontrolknobsothedisplaysays“OFF”nextto“REARLOCK”.
C.PresstheDVDswitchontheRSE(ifaDVDisNOTalreadyintheplayer,insertone.)and
confirmscreenis“ON”andthesystemwillplayDVDs.
4.Iftheaboveprocedureresolvestheconcern,explainthesystemoperationtothecustomer.This
procedureisdescribedinthe“Audio/Video”sectionofthevehicleowner’smanual.
5.IftheaboveproceduredoesNOTresolvetheconcern,performRSEdiagnosisusingthe
TechnicalInformationSystem(TIS),2007–2008modelyearapplicablevehiclerepairmanual.
