2. FEATURES & TECHNICAL EXPLANATION
2-1. FEATURES
nDirect Drive System
The advanced Brushless DC motor directly drives the drum without belt and pulley.
6 Motion
Washer is able to perform various drum actions or a combination of different actions
depending on the wash program selected.
Combined with a controlled spin speed and the ability of the drum to rotate both
left and right, the wash performance of the machine is greatly improved, giving you
perfect results every time.
nTurbo Wash
Wash cycle in under 1 hour with energy and water saving.
(based on half of laundry)
nWater Circulation
Sprays detergent solution and water onto the load over and over.
Clothes are soaked more quickly and thoroughly during wash cycle.
The detergent suds can be removed more easily by the water shower during rinse
cycle. The water circulation system uses both water and detergent more ef ciently.

nTilted Drum and Extra Large Door Opening
Tilted drum and extra large opening make it possible to load and unload clothing
more easily.
nEmbossing drum & waved lifter
Embossing drum enhances the washing performance and reduces clothes damage.

Should you experience any technical dif culty with your washing machine, it has
the capability of transmitting data by phone to the Customer Information Center.
The call center agent records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to
analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis.

2-3. WATER LEVEL CONTROL
This model incorporates a pressure sensor which can sense the water level in the tub. l
The water supply is stopped when the water level reaches the preset level, the washing program then l
proceeds.
Spinning does not proceed until the water in the tub drains to a certain level. l
2-4. DOOR CONTROL
The door can be opened by pulling the door handle whenever washer is not in operation. l
When the cycle is completed, the DOOR LOCKED light will turn off. l
If a power failure has occurred while in operation, the door will unlock after 5 minutes. l
Clicking sounds can be heard when the door is locked/unlocked. l

2-5. THE DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED

2-6. DOOR LOCKED LAMP LIGHTS
When the frequency of water level is lower than 22.9 kHz
(It can be canceled when the frequency is more than 23.8 kHz)
When the temperature inside the tub is higher than 45 ° C and water level is not 25.5 kHz.
(It can be canceled when the water level is 25.5 kHz or the temperature inside the tub is lower than
40°C)
2-7. CHILD LOCK
Use this option to prevent unwanted use of the washer. Press and hold the Wash and Rinse button for
3 seconds to lock/unlock control.
When Child lock is set, CHILD LOCK lights and all buttons are disabled except the Power

You can lock the washer while it is operating.

4. INSTALLATION
1 Before servicing ask troubles of customers.
2 Check the adjustment(power supply is 127V ac 60Hz, remove the transit bolts....).
3 Check the troubles referring to the trouble shooting.
4 Decide service steps referring to disassembly instructions.
5 And then, service and repair.
6 After servicing, operate the appliance whether it works OK or NOT.
STANDARD INSTALLATION
The appliance should be installed as follows:

Verify that the rubber washer is inside of the valve connector.
Tighten the inlet hose securely to prevent leaks.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING
7-1. BEFORE SVC CHECKING
Be careful of electric shock or disconnecting the parts while trouble shooting.
Voltage of each terminal is 127V~ and DC while applying an electric current.
7-2. QC TEST MODE
The washer must be empty and the controls must be in the off state.
1. Press the Rinse and Spin buttons simultaneously.
2. Press the Power button, while the above condition. Then buzzer will sound twice.
3. Press the Start/Pauser button repeatedly to cycle through the test modes.
7-3. HOW TO KNOW THE WATER LEVEL FREQUENCY
Press the Rinse and Temp. button simultaneously.
The digits means water level frequency(10-1 kHz)
ex) 241 : Water level frequency = 241 x 10-1 kHz
= 24.1 kHz

7-4. HOW TO KNOW TO TEMPERATURE OF EACH THERMISTOR AT
OPERATING CONDITION.
Thermistor in tub : Press the [Delay End + Temp.] button.
Thermistor in dry duct : Press the [Delay End + Normal Dry] button.
7-5. ERROR DISPLAY.
If you press the START/PAUSE button when an error is displayed, any error except
·will disappear
and the machine will go into the pause status.
In case of
·, , if the error is not resolved within 20 sec., or the in case of other errors,
if the error is not resolved within 4 min., power will be turned off automatically and the error code will
blink. But in the case of , power will not be turned off.

7-6. Smart Functions
LG ThinQ Application
The LG ThinQ application allows you to
communicate with the appliance using a
smartphone.
LG ThinQ Application Features
Communicate with the appliance from a
smartphone using the convenient smart features.
Remote Start
It allows you to control the appliance remotely
from the LG ThinQ application.
Download Cycle
You can download new and special cycles that are
not included in the basic cycles on the appliance.
A variety of specialty cycles specific to the appliance
can be downloaded to the successfully registered
appliances.
Once cycle download is completed in the appliance,
the appliance keeps the downloaded cycle until a
new cycle is downloaded.
NOTE
Only one downloaded cycle can be stored on the
appliance at a time.

Tub Clean Coach
This function shows how many cycles remain
before it is time to run the Tub Clean function.
Energy Monitoring
This function checks the energy consumption of
the recently used cycles and monthly average.
Smart Diagnosis
This function provides useful information for
diagnosing and solving issues with the appliance
based on the pattern of use.
Settings
Allows you to set various options on the appliance
and in the application.
Push Alert
When the cycle is complete or the appliance has
problems, you have the option of receiving push
notifications on a smartphone. The notifications
are triggered even if the LG ThinQ application is
off.
NOTE
If you change your wireless router, Internet
service provider, or password, delete the
registered appliance from the LG ThinQ
application and register it again.
The application is subject to change for
appliance improvement purposes without notice
to users.
Functions may vary by model.
Before Using LG ThinQ
Application

Check the distance between the appliance and
the wireless router (Wi-Fi network).
If the distance between the appliance and
the wireless router is too far, the signal
strength becomes weak. It may take a long
time to register or installation may fail.

Turn off the Mobile data or Cellular Data on
your smartphone.

Connect your smartphone to the wireless
router.

The appliance supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks
only. To check your network frequency, contact
your Internet service provider or refer to your
wireless router manual.
LG ThinQ
is not responsible for any network
connection problems or any faults,
malfunctions, or errors caused by network
connection.
If the appliance is having trouble connecting to
the Wi-Fi network, it may be too far from the
router. Purchase a Wi-Fi repeater (range
extender) to improve the Wi-Fi signal strength.
The Wi-Fi connection may not connect or may be
interrupted because of the home network
environment.
The network connection may not work properly
depending on the Internet service provider.
The surrounding wireless environment can
make the wireless network service run slowly.
The appliance cannot be registered due to
problems with the wireless signal transmission.
Unplug the appliance and wait about a minute
before trying again.
If the firewall on your wireless router is enabled,
disable the firewall or add an exception to it.
The wireless network name (SSID) should be a
combination of English letters and numbers. (Do
not use special characters.)
Smartphone user interface (UI) may vary
depending on the mobile operating system (OS)
and the manufacturer.
If the security protocol of the router is set to
WEP, you may fail to set up the network. Please
change it to other security protocols (WPA2 is
recommended) and register the product again.
Installing the LG ThinQ
Application
Search for the
LG ThinQ
application from the
Google Play Store or Apple App Store on a
smartphone. Follow instructions to download and
install the application.
Using the Appliance Remotely
Remote Start
Use a smartphone to control your appliance
remotely. You can also monitor your cycle
operation so you know how much time is left in the
cycle.
Using this function

Put the clothes into the drum.
If desired, add bleach or fabric softener to
the appropriate areas of the dispenser.

Press the

button.

Remote Start
button for 3
seconds to enable the remote control function.

Start a cycle from the
LG ThinQ
application on
your smartphone.
NOTE
Once this function is enabled, you can only start
a cycle from the
LG ThinQ
smartphone
application. If the cycle is not started, the
appliance will wait to start the cycle until it is
turned off remotely from the application or this
function is disabled.
If the door has been opened, you can not start a
cycle remotely.
Disable this function manually
When this function is activated, press and hold the
Remote Start
button for 3 seconds.

Issues
If you experience a problem with your Wi-Fi
equipped appliance, it can transmit
troubleshooting data to a smartphone using the
LG ThinQ application.

the instructions provided in the
