System Requirements & Materials
•Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP (32 & 64bit Versions).
•StenoDirectPlus Installed and Configured.
For any related issues, please refer to the StenoDirectPlus instruction manual.
•LocalRealtime™ Router, Power Adapter and Provided Ethernet Cable.
Configurations
LocalRealtime™ License Activation
•Prior to using the LocalRealtime™ router, the StenoDirectPlus application must
be installed with the license key applied.
PLEASE NOTE: The StenoDirectPlus license key is required before the
LocalRealtime™ system can be used (the remote system can be used without
activation). The license key may be requested when installation of
StenoDirectPlus is complete.
•To register the StenoDirectPlus software, open StenoDirectPlus and click ‘About’
on the upper-left-hand corner of the screen and select ‘Register’.
•Copy the “Request ID” and email it to your LiveDeposition.com Representative.
The Representative will provide a license key in order to activate the software.
To ensure the license key has been properly applied, right-click the
StenoDirectPlus icon (on the desktop) and select ‘Properties’. Click on the
compatibility tab. In the ‘Privilege Level’ section, click the “Run This Program as
an Administrator” checkbox. Click ‘Apply’ and the ‘OK’.

License keys are case sensitive. Be sure to enter the license key exactly as it
appears, then select “Register”.
EXAMPLE:
Powering Up and Connecting
•Connect the provided power cable into the router, and plug the adapter into the
wall.
•Connect the provided ethernet cable into “PORT 1” located on the back of the
router (ONLY USE THE BLUE PORTS).
•Connect the other end of the provided ethernet cable into the ethernet port
located on the computer where the CAT software is installed. Once connected,
the computer will take a few moments to register with the router in order to
recognize the LocalRealtime™ IP address.

StenoDirectPlus LocalRealtime™ Connection
•Select the “LocalRealtime™ Inactive” button bar to activate the LocalRealtime™
connection between the CAT software computer and the router.
•Enter a password:
•When properly connected to the LocalRealtime™, your computer will
automatically receive an IP address similar to the one in the above image (eg:
10.10.10.22).
Connecting Realtime Clients
•Each LocalRealtime™ router has a unique naming convention – which is
combination of LIVEDEPO and the last five numbers of the router serial
number.
[Example: SSID: LIVEDEPO12345]
•Each LocalRealtime™ router has a default passkey of “deposition” (no quotes).
For Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices please do the following:
•Connect the device to the LocalRealtime™ wireless network
[Example: SSID: LIVEDEPO12345 / Passkey: “deposition” (no quotes)].
•Launch the LiveDeposition.com App (Apps can be downloaded from the Apple
Store, the Google Play Store, etc.)
•From the first screen, select “Local”.

•Enter the Realtime address (eg: 10.10.10.22) and the reporter’s StenoDirectPlus
password (eg: 1234).
•Select “Connect”.
For Windows PC’s, Macs & Linux Computers, the Internet browser will be used:
•Connect the computer to the LocalRealtime™ wireless network
[Example: SSID: LIVEDEPO12345 / Passkey: “deposition” (no quotes)].
•Open a web browser and in the browser’s address field, enter the following:
http://10.10.10.1/user/index.html. In some cases, the stenographer will
provide a USB thumb drive with the necessary link(s).
•Enter the Realtime address (eg: 10.10.10.22) and the stenographer’s
StenoDirectPlus password (eg: 1234). Click “Connect”.
For LocalRealtime™ Relay – Porting To Realtime Software Applications:
•Connect the device to the LocalRealtime™ wireless network
[Example: SSID: LIVEDEPO12345 / Passkey: “deposition” (no quotes)].
•Launch the LocalRealtime™ Relay software application on your computer. In
some cases, the stenographer can provide a USB drive with the necessary
software.
•Enter the Realtime address (eg: 10.10.10.22) and the reporter’s StenoDirectPlus
password (eg: 1234).
•Select “Connect”.
•Start the Realtime transcript file.
•Connect to the LocalRealtime™ relay COM port. Select the Realtime type
(CaseView or Bridge) and the correct BAUD rate as indicated within
StenoDirectPlus.
Providing LocalRealtime™ & LiveDeposition.com Streaming
•When it is necessary to provide both LocalRealtime™ Realtime and
LiveDeposition.com remote Realtime streaming (via the Internet), the
LocalRealtime™ router must be connected to the facility’s network via the yellow
(WAN) port on the back of the router. In order for this to function correctly, it is
imperative that the hosting facility provide a network connection to their existing
Internet-connected network. The facility must have a DHCP enabled network
with the ability to handoff a routable IP address to the router, as well as DNS
provisioning. In some cases, it will be necessary to consult with the facility’s IT
personnel prior to attending the deposition.

Troubleshooting
Client is not receiving Realtime or is receiving an Error
•Ensure the client is connected to the correct wireless network
[SSID: LIVEDEPO12345].
•Ensure the LocalRealtime™ within StenoDirectPlus is activated and a temporary
password has been assigned.
•Ensure the device (or computer) is not hibernating (in sleep mode). If so,
wakeup the device and then reconnect.
•Ensure the Realtime client did not leave the proximity of the LocalRealtime™
router. If so, reconnect to the wireless network [LIVEDEPO12345], then
reconnect to the stenographer’s feed.
Time Stamps Do Not Match CaseView Protocol
•Ensure the CaseView protocol is set so that the Realtime output is timestamp
activated.
No Wireless Network Present or No Connection Available
•Ensure all devices are powered on and properly connected.
In some cases, the following may appear in the computer’s system tray:
“Limited or No Internet Access” does not necessarily mean that the client is not
connected. Please note that clients connecting to the LocalRealtime™ router will not
be connected to the Internet unless the LocalRealtime™ router is connected to the
Internet

When a Realtime Client has properly connected to the LocalRealtime™ wireless router,
the client computer’s WIFI signal may indicate Limited Access and/or an exclamation
mark. This indicates that a wireless connection to the LocalRealtime™ router has
been established and may receive realtime. If the LocalRealtime™ router is connected
to the host facilities network (via the yellow WAN port), the Limited or No Access
message will disappear.
