With the Router Kit, you can provide an Internet connection via WLAN e. g. for
SIMOTICS CONNECT 400. All settings for the Router Kit made in the document ensure that
SIMOTICS CONNECT 400 is visible in WLAN.
Purpose of this documentation
These operating instructions describe the configuration and assembly of the Router Kit
WLAN / LTE, the Router Kit WLAN / LAN, and the Router Kit LAN / LTE.

2 Safety information
2.1 The five safety rules
For your personal safety and to prevent material damage, always observe the safety-
relevant notes and the following five safety rules according to EN 50110-1 "Dead working"
during any work. Before starting work, apply the five safety rules in the specified order.
Five safety rules
1. Also enable the auxiliary circuits, e.g. standstill heating.
2. Secure to prevent reconnection.
3. Ensure there is no voltage present.
4. Ground and short-circuit.
5. Cover or shield adjacent live parts.
After you have completed the work, lift the measures taken again in the reverse sequence.
2.2 Safe handling
Safety in the work place depends on the attentiveness, care and common sense of all
persons who install, operate and maintain the machine. In addition to observing the listed
safety precautions, caution is generally required in the proximity of the machine. Always pay
attention to safety.
To avoid accidents, also observe the following:
●General safety precautions of the respective country of use
●Specific regulations of the operator and the field of application
●Specific agreements that were made with the operator
●Separate safety notes that were sent with the machine
●Safety symbols and notes on the machine and its packaging
●You are assigned by the responsible person to perform work on the machine

Contact with live parts may cause death or severe personal injury.
Install the fan module mechanically in the device before you make the electrical connection.

Electric shock if there is no insulation
Contact with live parts may cause death or severe personal injury.
Use only the cables supplied or cables that correspond to the prescribed installation
regulations with respect to voltage, current, insulation material, load capacity etc.
Lay cables in such a way that they cannot be touched or squashed by moving parts.
WARNING
Electrical charge (>50 µC) between mains conductor and protective conductor
connection after power switch-off
Contact with live parts may cause death or severe personal injury.
•Do not touch terminals until five minutes after the voltage is switched off.
•Ensure sufficient contact protection.
WARNING
Live parts
Electrical machines have live parts.
Removal of covers, improper use of the machine, incorrect operation or insufficient
maintenance can cause death, serious injury or material damage.
•Always observe the "Five safety rules (page 6)" when working on the machine.
•Only remove covers in line with these operating instructions.
•Operate the machine properly.
•Maintain the machine regularly and correctly.

7. Adjust the DIN rail to the installation enclosure and grind down any sharp edges.
The fastening holes in the DIN rail are already there.

8. Secure the DIN rail with two combi screws.
Screw in the combi screws with a washer, high-tension spring washer and hexagon nut
from the rear of the installation enclosure.

9. Insert the SIM card into SCALANCE M876-4.

13.Mount the three end retainers on the DIN rail.
–Mount the first end retainer ①between SITOP compact and yellow/green universal
terminal with yellow intermediate plate.
–Mount the second end retainer ②to the left of the last gray universal terminal.
–Mount the third end retainer ③between SCALANCE M876-4 and the protective
conductor terminal block.

14.Pull the cables through the pre-drilled holes at the bottom and secure the cable glands
with the locknuts.
