CARE AND MAINTENANCE
SEASONING YOUR DISC:
It is important to season your disc every
time it is used.
Seasoning prepares the disc surface for use
with a coating to prevent rust and to create a
permanent stick-resistant surface. Seasoning,
over time and after repeated use, produces a
shiny black cooking surface. As you continue
to use and season your disc surface, the more
stick-resistant it will become.
Seasoning Checklist:
■ Metal scraper or spatula.
■ Cooking oil:
○ Vegetable, olive, peanut, canola, coconut,
ax or sesame oil.
○ Do not use corn oil. The high sugar
content can caramelize and damage the
cooking surface.
■ Paper towels
■ Steel wool
Seasoning for the First Time:
1. Wash your disc with soap and water and dry
thoroughly to remove any residual oils from
the factory’s manufacturing process.
2. Light your cooker and turn the regulator
control knob to a medium-high setting until
you see the oil begin to smoke, and then
turn cooker o.
3. Wipe the entire inner disc surface with
paper towels.
4. Using paper towels, rub cooking oil onto the
entire inner disc surface.
5. Repeat these steps at least twice.
Season After Every Use:
1. Turn cooker OFF and allow it to cool until it
is still slightly warm.
2. Remove as much residue as possible with a
metal scraper or spatula, then wipe the disc
surface with paper towels.
3. For stubborn, stuck-on residue, relight the
burner and apply cooking oil or hot water to
boil the residue o. If necessary, steel wool
or table salt may be used to scrub residue
away. Repeat this step as necessary.
4. Wipe disc surface again with paper towels
until clean.
5. Apply an even coat of cooking oil to the disc
surface with paper towels.
6. Light burner and turn regulator control knob
to medium. The oil will begin to smoke and
the cooking surface will darken/discolor.
Keep burning on medium until the smoke
stops.
7. Repeat this process as necessary to re-
establish a stick-resistant cooking surface.
8. Once the disc and cooker have cooled
completely, place the included cover over
the the disc to keep it clean and ready for
the next use.
Refurbish a Rusty Griddle Surface:
1. Light the burner and turn regulator control
knob to medium for approximately 10
minutes.
2. While the disc surface is still warm, use a
metal scraper or spatula to remove as much
rust as you can from the disc surface.
3. Apply a liberal amount of cooking oil to
the disc surface and scrub with steel wool.
Continue to apply oil as needed.
4. Wipe the disc surface with paper towels.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until no rust is apparent on
paper towels,
6. Using paper towels, apply another even
coat of cooking oil to the disc surface.
7. Light burner and turn regulator control
knob to medium. Allow cooker to burn until
cooking oil stops smoking.
8. Turn regulator control knob to the o
position and allow cooker to cool.
9. Repeat steps 6-8 until the disc surface has
a nice dark color.
Disco Cooker owners in humid or coastal
areas may need to reseason/refurbish more
frequently with heavier cooking oils to keep
rust and corrosion to a minimum.

ventilation air.
• Check burner and venturi tube for insects
and insect nests. A clogged tube can
obstruct gas ow and can result in a re
beneath the appliance. Prevent blockages
by inspecting and cleaning burner and
venturi tube regularly.
NEVER insert any tool or foreign object into
the LP tank valve outlet or safety relief valve.
You may damage the valve or cause a leak
which can lead to explosion, re, personal
injury or death.
DANGER
CLEAN THOROUGHLY AFTER EVERY USE
NOTE: Clean the entire appliance each year
and tighten all hardware 1-2 times a year or
more depending on frequency of use.
1. Turn the appliance OFF at the regulator
control knob and at the LP tank valve before
cleaning. Check that there is no ame or
gas smell and that all valves are in the OFF
position. Make sure that the regulator is
properly disconnected from the LP tank prior
to any cleaning.
2. Any component that has been in contact
with food must be hand-washed with warm
soapy water and a nylon pad.
3. To clean the burner, use a brush to loosen
corrosion from the burner exterior. Clean
clogged gas ports with an open paper clip.
Replace corroded or damaged burners that
would emit excess gas.
4. To clean the burner tube/venturi, rst
disconnect the regulator hose from the
burner tube. Look inside the burner
tube for nests, webs or mud. To remove
obstructions, use a exible brush or bend
a small hook on the end of a exible wire.
When obstructions are clear the regulator
hose can be connected to the burner tube.
5. Conrm that all components are completely
dry before using or placing in storage.
6. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the
appliance prior to every use.
7. Store all components in a clean, dry location
when not in use.
COOKING SURFACE:
• Follow instructions under “SEASONING
YOUR DISC.”
○ Do not use dish soap. Grease-cutting
dish soaps will dissolve/degrade the stick-
resistant seasoning on the disc surface.
