ADJUSTCHARTSURFACE CLARITY
Themarkings extending downward fromthezerolineonthechartare
called "surfaceclutter."These markingsarecaused
by
wave
action, boat
wakes,
temperature inversion,andothernatural causes.
TheSurface
ClarityControl(5CC)
re-
ducesoreliminatessurfacecluttersig-
nalsfromthe
display. 3CCvariesthe
sensitivity ofthereceiver,decreasing
it nearthesurface and gradually in-
creasing it as the depth increases.
The maximum depth that 5CC will
affectis 75% ofthe selected depth
range. For example, on a 0-60 foot
rangewith maximum SCC, surface
clutterwillbereduceddownto4bfeet.
Thereare threelevels ofSCCavail- -
ableontheLCG-2400: low, medium,
andhigh. When it's turned onforthefirsttime,theSCClevel is low.To
change it,press
theMENUkey,
then
press
the
up
ordownarrow
keys
until
the"Surface Clarity" menu appears.Nowusetheleftor right arrow keys
tochange it.When
you'refinished,presstheEXITkey
toerasethe3CC
menu.

TheASPfeatureisanoise
rejectionsystem
builtintotheLCG-2400that
constantly
evaluates the effects of boat speed, waterconditions, and
interference. Thisautomaticfeature gives youthebestdisplaypossible
undermost
conditions.
TheASPfeatureisaneffectivetoolin
combating
noise. Insonar
terms,
noiseisanyundesired signal. Itiscaused byelectrical andmechanical
sourcessuchaa bilgepumps, engine ignitionsystems andwiring, air
bubbles
passingovertheface
ofthe
transducer, evenvibrationfromthe
engine. Inallcases, noisecanproduceunwanted marksonthedisplay.
Digital/Chart
Thedigital/chart shows the chart on
therightsideofthe screen. The left
sidehasfourdigital boxes containing
thewaterdepthatthetopofthescreen,
boat speed, distance travelled (log),
andsurfacewatertemperature. Atthe
bottomofthescreen isatemperature
graph. (Note: Speed, distance, and
temperaturedisplaysrequireaspeed/
temperature sensorwhich must be
purchased separately.)

Groups
You canchange the displays on the
LCG-2400 by using thewindows fea-
ture.This
letsyou
usedifferentdisplays
foryourownfishing orboating situa-
tions.Thisfeature
givesyou
8different
display
screensin thewindow groups
alone.
Thescreensavailable inthewindows
mode are divided into two or more
windowsperscreen. Each screen of
windowsiscalleda
"group".Group "A"
as shown abovehasthedigital depth
display
inone window, batteryvoltage
inanother, watertemperature, speed,
anddistancetravelled.
Tousethewindows
feature,firstpress
theMODE key.Ascreen similartothe
oneshownatright appears. Highlight
the
"Group" menu atthebottomofthe
screen. Nowpress
the
leftorrightarrow
keysto
sequencethrough theavailable
groups. Whenthe desired group ap-
pears,press
