Youhavemadeawisepurchasedecision.The5412aisahighquality,durablepieceof
equipmentthatwillgiveyouyearsoftroublefreeoperation.
Youraimerhasover25yearsofengineeringrefinementbuilt-in.Itisdesignedtomeetthe
followingrequirements:
FullycompliantwiththelatestrevisionsoftheStandardsSAEJ599(Aug1997)andJ600
(Feb1993).Thisincludesthenewrequirementsforsettingthebeamslopebasedonthe
heightoftheheadlamps.Thisfeatureiscriticalforproperadjustmentofheadlightson
pic k-uptrucksandsportutilityvehicles.
AimsallheadlightsincludingDomestic,European,andAsiantypeheadlights.
Laserguidedfloorslopecompensation.
Simpleoperation.
Requiresnofloortrack.
Built-inself-checkingfororthogonalityofitscomponents.
Easilytransportablefrombaytobay.
Theaimingisperformedbasedonanimageoftheheadlightbeamrecreatedinsidethe
opticalaimerhead.TheinternalscreenduplicatesthescreenrequiredbytheSAE
standardJ599.
ThismanualiswrittenbasedontherequirementsoftheSAEJ599standardforheadlight
aim.IndividualstateinspectionrequirementsvaryandsomestatesdonotusetheSAE
standard.Ifusingtheaimerforstatevehiclesafetyinspections,consultyourinspection
manualfordetailsoftherequirementsinyourstate.

Boltthemast,withadjustmentplates,tothebasealigning
themastasshowninfig.1.Besurethatthethreaded
adjustmentplateisthetopplate.Installthelocknutsonthe
adjustmentbolts,andthreadadjustmentboltslooselyinto
thetopplate,onlyoneortwoturnsatthistime.
Tightenlocknutsonadjustmentbolts.
Aligntheadjustmentplatesparalleltothebase,
