GETTING TO KNOW YOUR MACHINE
Read this manual carefully, taking note of all the recommended safety precautions (WARNINGS)
before, during, and after use. Keep your machine in good working condition. Familiarize yourself
with the machine’s controls before turning it on. And, above all, make sure you know how to turn it
off in case of an emergency. Keep this manual and any other documentation that came with your
machine in a safe place for future reference.
UNPACKING THE VACUUM CLEANER
When you open the packaging, make sure that the vacuum cleaner is not damaged. Remove
the vacuum cleaner from its packaging. Verify that the standard accessories are included. Do not
discard the protective packaging. Make sure that the guarantee and users manual are included.

have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
The plug must be removed from the socket-
outlet before cleaning or maintaining the
appliance.
TO BEGIN USING YOUR MACHINE SAFELY:
1. Keep your work area clean: Cluttered work areas and workbenches are a source of injury.
2. The vacuum cleaner should be properly assembled before use.
3. Use only extension cords approved for outdoor use (when the vacuum is used outside) and
make sure that they are always in good condition.
4. Protect the electric cables and, in particular, make sure that they are not crushed, pulled, or

damaged by edges, sharp pieces, or moving parts; or damaged by corrosive liquids.
5. WARNING! Do not force the tool to work too hard. It will work better and be safer at the speed
it was designed for.
6. WARNING! Do not use a damaged extension cord. Do not make any permanent or temporary
repairs to the cable itself.
7. WARNING! Do not use a vacuum cleaner that has a damaged electric cord. Have a new
cable installed by an authorised service center.
8. Do not attach anything else to the socket, electric cords, or extension cord.
9. Use the correct tools: Do not force small tools to do the work normally done with large tools.
Do not use tools for work they are not intended to perform.
10. Before plugging your vacuum cleaner into the electrical outlet, make sure that the voltage and
the outlet requirements match what is indicated on the label next to the cord.
11. Dress appropriately: Do not wear loose tting clothing or jewelry. They could become caught
in the moving parts. Rubber gloves and antiskid shoes are recommended for outdoor work.
Wear a protective cap to keep long hair protected.
12. Do not pull the device by the cord.
13. Your machine should always be turned off before unplugging it from the outlet or the
extension cord.
14. Before leaving the device unsupervised (even for a brief time) turn it off and unplug it from the
electrical outlet. This should also be done if there is a loss of power.
15. Do not underestimate its power. Always maintain a balanced and stable stance.
16. Keep children and pets away from the machine.When the machine is operating, everyone
should stay at a safe distance.
17. The device should not be used by children or by persons who are not familiar with the device
or who have not read this instruction manual.
18. The user of the device is responsible for the safety of others while using it.
19. The vacuum should only be used for its intended purposes.
20. Before performing any maintenance, adjustment or cleaning procedures on the vacuum
cleaner, turn it off, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and wait for the motor to stop.
21. Be very careful when checking, cleaning, or performing maintenance on the device and wear
thick work gloves to protect your hands.
22. Neither the security devices nor the electric cords should be modied or removed from the
machine.
23. When using the machine, it should be kept steady and on a stable surface or supported by
the body.
24. Only work in full daylight or with appropriate articial light.
25. We recommend using some type of hearing protection for your ears.
26. If the machine vibrates abnormally, stop the motor and look for the cause immediately.
Vibrations usually mean a problem.
27. The vacuum cleaner should be properly checked before each use. Do not use a machine that
is not in perfect condition. If you notice a problem that could constitute a danger to the user,
have the machine repaired before using it.
28. For safety reasons, replace worn or damaged parts. Use only manufacturer approved

replacement parts. Parts from sources other than the manufacturer may not t properly or may
be dangerous or cause injuries. The power cord can only be replaced by specialized customer
service centers.
29. Only use the vacuum cleaner in areas that are dry and protected from bad weather. Do not
use it outside when it is raining.
30. Store the vacuum in a dry place, out of the reach of children.
31. Do not leave the power cord lying around once clean up is done; someone could trip.
32. Take care when emptying extremely heavy tanks.
33. To avoid spontaneous combustion, empty the tank after every use.
34. Do not use this machine to vacuum up ammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline,
photocopier powder, or volatile substances; and do not use the machine in areas where these
liquids are present. Do not vacuum up acids.
35. Do not vacuum up any materials that are toxic, cancer causing, combustible, or any other
dangerous materials, such as asbestos, asbestos dust, arsenic, barium, beryllium, lead,
pesticides, or any other substances hazardous to your health.
36. Extreme caution should be used when vacuuming up wood or charcoal ashes, soot, cement,
plaster, or plasterboard dust. These particles are extremely ne and can pass through the
lters affecting the motor’s performance or be blown into the air. If necessary, you may need a
more efcient lter.
37. Do not vacuum up anything that is burning or smoldering, such as cigarettes, cigarette butts,
matches, or hot ashes.
38. Never vacuum up salt water; it may destroy the motor.
CAUTION !
In order to avoid electric shock, do not expose the device to rain. Store it inside.
Read the owner’s manual and the safety instructions before using the device in order to avoid
injury or damage to property: Do not vacuum up any materials that are ammable, combustible,
or hot. Do not use this device near explosive liquids or fumes because electric devices generate
arcs or sparks that may cause a re or explosion. Do not use this device in a petrol station or in
an area where petrol is stored or distributed. In order to avoid health risks from fumes or dust, do
not vacuum up toxic material, carcinogens, or other dangerous materials such as asbestos, lead,
pesticides, or other materials hazardous to your health.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNING FOR CONSTRUCTION DUST
The updated Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1st October 2012 now also
targets to reduce the risks associated with silica, wood and gypsum dusts.
Construction workers are one of the at-risk groups within this because of the dust that they
breathe: silica dust is not just a nuisance; it is a real risk to your lungs!
Silica is a natural mineral present in large amounts in things like sand, sandstone and granite. It
is also commonly found in many construction materials such as concrete and mortar. The silica
is broken into very ne dust (also known as Respirable Crystalline Silica or RCS) during many
common tasks such as cutting, drilling and grinding. Breathing in very ne particles of crystalline
silica can lead to the development of:
Lung cancer, Silicosis Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease (COPD), and breathing in ne particles of wood dust can lead to the development of
asthma. The risk of lung disease is linked to people who regularly breathe construction dust over a

period of time, not on the odd occasion.
To protect the lung, the COSHH Regulations sets a limit on the amount of these dusts that you
can breathe (called a Workplace Exposure Limit or WEL) when averaged over a normal working
day. These limits are not a large amount of dust: when compared to a penny it is tiny – like a small
pinch of salt:
This limit is the legal maximum; the most you can breathe after the right controls have been used.
How to reduce the amount of dust?
1. Reduce the amount of cutting by using the best sizes of building products.
2. Use a less powerful tool e.g. a block cutter instead of angle grinder.
3. Using a different method of work altogether – e.g. using a nail gun to direct fasten cable trays
instead of drilling holes rst.
Please always work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that specially
designed to lter out microscopic particles and use the dust extraction facility at all time.

Warning: Some dust particles created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drill and
other construction jobs contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other
reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead-based paints.
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated timber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending upon how often you do this type of work. To
reduce your exposure to these chemicals:
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially
designed to lter microscopic particles.
VIBRATION
The European Physical Agents (Vibration) Directive has been brought in to help reduce hand arm
vibration syndrome injuries to power tool users. The directive requires power tool manufacturers
and suppliers to provide indicative vibration test results to enable users to make informed
decisions as to the period of time a power tool can be used safely on a daily basis and the choice
of tool.

LEVELS OF YOUR TOOL.
The declared vibration emission value should be used as a minimum level and should be used
with the current guidance on vibration.
Calculating the actual period of the actual period off use can be difcult and the HSE website has
further information.
The declared vibration emission has been measured in accordance with a standardised test
stated above and may be used to compare one tool with another tool.
The declared vibration emission value may also be used in a preliminary assessment of exposure.
Warning: The vibration emission value during actual use of the power tool can differ from

the declared value depending on the ways in which the tool is used dependant on the following
examples and other variations on how the tool is used:
How the tool is used and the materials being cut or drilled.
The tool being in good condition and well maintained.
Using the correct accessory for the tool and ensuring it is sharp and in good condition.
The tightness of the grip on the handles.
And the tool is being used as intended by its design and these instructions.
While working with this power tool, hand/arm vibrations occur. Adopt the correct working
practices in order to reduce the exposure to vibration. This tool may cause hand-arm
vibration syndrome if its use is not adequately managed.
Warning: Identify safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an estimation of
exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking account of all parts of the operating cycle such as
the times when the tool is switched off and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time).
Note: The use of other tools will reduce the users’ total working period on this tool.
Helping to minimise your vibration exposure risk. ALWAYS use sharp chisels, drills and blades.
Maintain this tool in accordance with these instructions and keep well lubricated (where
appropriate).
Avoid using tools in temperatures of 10ºC or less. Plan your work schedule to spread any high
vibration tool use across a number of days.

vibration related diseases at an early stage, prevent disease progression and help employees stay
in work.

Getting started
WARNING: Always ensure that the plug is disconnected from power source, the tool is switched
off before making any adjustments or maintenance procedures. Install the appropriate lter before
placing the motor assembly back on the tank. For more information on installing your lters, refer
to Operation. Remove the vacuum cleaner and all of the accessories from the packaging. Open
the locking clamps with your thumbs and remove the motor assembly from the tank. Then, remove
the accessories from the tank. With the electric cord disconnected from the outlet, and the motor

assembly removed from the tank, place the tank upside down so that the base is facing upwards.
Assemble the feet and the castors according to the following instructions for your model.
CASTOR SYSTEM ASSEMBLY
Remove all of the straps holding the castor feet together.
1. Facing the tank’s vacuum port, take castor feet marked A.
2. Insert the castor foot stem into the sockets also marked A, located on the front left and rear
right of the tank.
3. Make sure that the castor feet are fully inserted into the tank base and attach using the screws
supplied.
4. Take the castor feet marked B.
5. Insert the castor foot stem into the sockets also marked B, located on the front right and rear
left of the tank.
6. Make sure that the castor feet are fully inserted into the tank base and tighten using the screws
supplied. Turn the tank right side up and replace motor assembly.
Attach the hose to the vacuum port located on the tank.
The extension tubes slide one inside the other. Twist the extension tubes to lock them in place.
Attach the extension tubes to the accessory end of the hose.
Install the cleaning accessories (as needed) onto the end of the extension tubes.
Insert the power cord plug into a wall socket. You are now ready to use your vacuum cleaner.
Operation
WARNING : If the vacuum cleaner accidentally tips over, the shut-off oat mechanism may cover
the joint and stop the suction. If this happens, simply stand the vacuum upright and turn it off until
the oat returns to its normal position.

VACUUMING DRY MATERIALS
In order to ensure proper ltering when vacuuming dust and dry materials, a foam sleeve and a
dust collection bag should be installed. If the vacuum was used to vacuum up liquids, the foam
sleeve must be cleaned and dried before using it to vacuum up dust.
NOTE: NEVER USE A VACUUM WITHOUT THE FILTER!
INSTALLATION AND CLEANING
Foam Sleeve
WARNING : Always ensure that the plug is disconnected from power source, the tool is switched
off before making any adjustments or maintenance procedures. Once the motor assembly is
upside down, slide the foam sleeve down over the cage. Keep sliding it down until it completely
covers the cage.
The foam sleeve should be cleaned regularly as described in the following steps:
1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before removing the motor assembly. Turn
the motor assembly over. Slide the foam sleeve toward the top of the cage to remove.
2. Shake the foam sleeve up and down quickly.
3. Submerge the foam sleeve in water for one or two minutes, then rinse it from the inside out.
Systematic cleaning with water is not necessary, it depends on the condition of the foam
sleeve.
4. Gently wring out the water, wipe it with a clean cloth, and let it dry. The foam sleeve is now
ready to be reinstalled over the cage.
DUST COLLECTION BAG
Fine dust, such as dust from cement, soot and plaster are too ne to be used with only the foam
sleeve and risk getting into the motor and damaging it, thereby, nullifying the vacuum cleaner’s
guarantee. Therefore always use a dust collection bag when cleaning these types of materials.
1. Unplug the vacuum from the electrical outlet and remove the motor assembly from the tank.
2. Hold the cardboard collar tightly and slide the rubber protective element as far as possible onto
the intake port.
3. When everything is in place, unfold the bag out and position it around the inside walls of the
tank.
VACUUMING UP WATER AND LIQUIDS
Remove all dirt and debris from the tank. A foam sleeve must be used to vacuum up wet debris.
• Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet before removing the motor assembly from
the tank. Turn the motor over.

• Remove the dust collection bag and install the foam sleeve as described previously in
Operation Section.
START VACUUMING
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an automatic shut-off system that works when you vacuum
up liquids. When the liquid reaches a certain level in the tank, an internal oat closes against a
joint which cuts off the motor intake and suction.
1. Turn off the vacuum cleaner.
2. Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the power source.
3. Raise the hose so that it drains into the tank.
4. Remove the motor assembly from the tank.
5. Be careful when emptying heavy tanks. Drain the tank into an appropriate drain. Place the
motor assembly back on the tank. Engage the locking clamps.
BLOWER FEATURE
This vacuum can be used as a powerful blower. To use your unit as a blower insert hose end into
blower port on rear of unit. Clear hose of any obstructions before attaching to blower port. Caution
should be used when using as a blower due to the powerful force of air when using certain
attachments.
WARNING : ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION TO PREVENT DEBRIS FROM BEING BLOWN
OR RICOCHETING INTO THE EYES OR FACE WHICH CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.
EMPTYING LIQUID WASTE FROM THE TANK
Use special care when emptying heavily loaded tanks. Your Wet/Dry Vacuum may be emptied of
waste by removing the tank cover. To empty, stop the motor and remove the plug from the wall
receptacle. Remove the tank cover and deposit the liquid waste contents into a suitable drain.
Your Wet/Dry Vac also comes standard with a convenient tank drain. NOTE: THE TANK DRAIN
FEATURE IS NOT STANDARD ON ALL MODELS. Simply remove the drain cap and empty the
liquid contents into a suitable drain. After the tank is empty, return the cover to its original position.
To continue use, plug the cord into the wall receptacle and start the motor.
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF PARTS
Never attempt any service to the unit unless the power cord is disconnected from the power
receptacle.
These units incorporate electrical components that can be replaced. It is recommended that
repair or part replacement be performed by a skilled technician. Only use original manufacturer
recommended replacement parts. If the receptacle cover becomes detached, broken or damaged,
or clear boot over switch would be damaged or missing, discontinue operation and have the unit
repaired.
Maintenance and Repair
The vacuum cleaner does not require lubrication or supplementary maintenance. Before storing
the vacuum cleaner, always empty and clean the tank. Never leave any liquids standing in the

tank for an extended period of time. Clean the foam sleeve in order to avoid clogging from debris.
Never use water or chemical cleaning products with detergent to clean the vacuum cleaner. Use a
dry cloth. If the supply cord needs replacing, the task must be carried out by the manufacturer, the
manufacturer’s agent, or an authorised service centre in order to avoid a safety hazard.

Recycling and disposal
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please
recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local Authority or local store for recycling
advice.

This guarantee is limited to parts recognised as defective. It does not, in any case, cover ancillary
costs (movement, labour) and direct and indirect damage.
If the MacAllister power tool is defective during the guarantee period, then we reserve the right,
at our discretion, to replace the item with a product of equivalent quality and functionality or to
provide a refund.
This guarantee only applies to the country of purchase or delivery and is not transferrable to any
other countries. This guarantee is non-transferrable to any other person or product. Relevant local
law will apply to this guarantee.

APPRENDRE À CONNAITRE VOTRE APPAREIL
Lisez attentivement le présent mode d’emploi et notez bien toutes les mesures de sécurité
recommandées (AVERTISSEMENTS) avant, pendant et après l’utilisation. Maintenez votre
appareil en bon état de fonctionnement. Familiarisez-vous avec les commandes de l’appareil
avant de le mettre en marche. Et surtout, soyez certain de savoir comment l’arrêter en cas
d’urgence. Conservez ce manuel et toute la documentation fournie avec votre appareil en lieu sûr
an de pouvoir les consulter ultérieurement.
DÉBALLAGE DE L’ASPIRATEUR
Dès l’ouverture de l’emballage, assurez-vous que l’aspirateur n’est pas endommagé. Sortez
l’aspirateur de son emballage. Vériez que les accessoires standard sont présents. Ne jetez pas
les emballages de protection. Assurez-vous que la garantie et le mode d’emploi sont présents.
Cet appareil peut être utilisé par les enfants
de 8 ans et plus, ainsi que par des personnes
dont les capacités physiques, sensorielles
ou mentales sont réduites, ou des personnes
manquant d’expérience et de connaissances,
dans la mesure où elles sont surveillées et si
elles ont été formées à l’utilisation de l’appareil
en toute sécurité et ont bien compris les risques
encourus. Les enfants ne doivent pas jouer
avec l’appareil. Les opérations de nettoyage
et d’entretien qui incombent à l’utilisateur ne
doivent pas être effectuées par les enfants sans
surveillance.
Si le câble d’alimentation est endommagé, il doit
être remplacé par le fabricant, son service après-
vente ou des personnes de qualication similaire
an d’éviter un danger.
La che doit être retirée de la prise de courant
avant les opérations de nettoyage ou de
maintenance de l’appareil.

POUR COMMENCER EN TOUTE SÉCURITÉ :
1. Maintenez la zone de travail propre : les établis et les zones de travail encombrés sont des
sources de blessure.
2. L’aspirateur doit être convenablement assemblé avant utilisation.
3. Utilisez uniquement des rallonges homologuées pour l’utilisation en extérieur (lorsque
l’aspirateur est utilisé à l’extérieur) et assurez-vous qu’elles sont en bon état.
4. Protégez les câbles électriques. Veillez notamment à ce qu’ils ne soient pas écrasés,
arrachés ou endommagés par des arêtes et des objets tranchants, ou par des pièces en
mouvement, ou encore par des liquides corrosifs.
5. AVERTISSEMENT ! Ne forcez pas sur l’appareil. Il fonctionnera mieux et de manière plus
sûre à la vitesse pour laquelle il a été conçu.
6. AVERTISSEMENT ! N’utilisez pas de rallonge endommagée. N’effectuez aucune réparation
sur le câble lui-même, que ce soit à titre temporaire ou permanent.
7. AVERTISSEMENT ! N’utilisez pas un aspirateur dont le câble d’alimentation est abîmé. Faites
installer un câble neuf par un centre de service agréé.
8. Ne raccordez rien d’autre sur la prise, le câble ou la rallonge électrique.
9. Utilisez les bons outils : ne forcez pas sur de petits outils pour faire un travail qui est
normalement effectué avec des outils plus gros. N’utilisez pas les outils pour un travail auquel
ils ne sont pas destinés.
10. Avant de brancher votre aspirateur sur la prise de courant, vériez que la tension et les
caractéristiques de l’alimentation correspondent aux informations qui gurent sur l’étiquette
située à proximité du cordon.
11. Portez des vêtements appropriés : pas de bijoux ou de vêtements amples. Ils pourraient
se prendre dans les pièces en mouvement. Il est recommandé de porter des gants en
caoutchouc et des chaussures antidérapantes pour le travail en extérieur. Portez une
casquette de protection si vous avez les cheveux longs.
12. Ne déplacez pas l’appareil en tirant sur le cordon.
13. L’appareil doit toujours être éteint avant de le débrancher de la prise secteur ou de la
rallonge.
14. Éteignez l’appareil et débranchez-le de l’alimentation électrique avant de le laisser sans
surveillance (même pour un court instant). Faites de même en cas de perte de puissance.
15. Ne sous-estimez pas la puissance de l’appareil. Gardez toujours votre équilibre et une
position stable.
16. Tenez les enfants et les animaux domestiques à l’écart de l’appareil. Lorsque l’appareil
fonctionne, toutes les autres personnes doivent respecter une distance de sécurité sufsante.
17. Les enfants et les personnes qui ne connaissent pas l’appareil ou n’ont pas lu ce mode
d’emploi ne doivent pas utiliser l’aspirateur.
18. L’utilisateur est responsable de la sécurité des tiers pendant l’utilisation.
19. L’aspirateur doit uniquement être utilisé pour les usages auxquels il est destiné.
20. Avant toute intervention de maintenance, de réglage ou de nettoyage, éteignez l’aspirateur,
débranchez-le de la prise de courant et attendez que le moteur s’arrête.
21. Faites très attention lorsque vous effectuez la maintenance, le contrôle ou le nettoyage de
l’appareil. Portez des gants de travail épais pour protéger vos mains.

22. Ni les dispositifs de sécurité ni les cordons électriques ne doivent être modiés ou retirés de
l’appareil.
23. Durant l’utilisation, poser l’appareil debout sur une surface stable ou porter celui-ci par le
corps.
24. Travaillez uniquement en plein jour ou avec un éclairage articiel approprié.
25. Il est recommandé d’utiliser des protections pour les oreilles.
26. Si l’appareil se met à vibrer de manière anormale, coupez immédiatement le moteur et
recherchez la cause. Les vibrations sont généralement synonymes de problème.
27. L’aspirateur doit être contrôlé convenablement avant chaque utilisation. N’utilisez pas un
appareil qui n’est pas en parfait état. Si vous décelez un problème qui pourrait constituer un
danger pour l’utilisateur, faites réparer l’appareil avant de l’utiliser.
28. Pour des raisons de sécurité, remplacez les pièces usées ou endommagées. Utilisez
uniquement des pièces de rechange agréées par le fabricant. Les pièces provenant d’autres
sources d’approvisionnement que le fabricant risquent de ne pas bien s’adapter sur l’appareil,
de représenter un danger ou de provoquer des blessures. Le câble d’alimentation doit
exclusivement être remplacé par un centre de service spécialisé.
29. Utilisez l’aspirateur uniquement dans les endroits secs et protégés des intempéries. Ne
l’utilisez pas à l’extérieur lorsqu’il pleut.
30. Rangez l’aspirateur dans un endroit sec, hors de portée des enfants.
31. Ne laissez pas traîner le câble d’alimentation une fois le ménage terminé ; il pourrait faire
trébucher quelqu’un.
32. Faites attention lorsque vous videz le réservoir et qu’il est particulièrement lourd.
33. Videz le réservoir après chaque utilisation an d’éviter une combustion spontanée.
34. N’utilisez jamais l’appareil pour aspirer des liquides inammables ou combustibles tels que
de l’essence, du toner de photocopieuse ou des substances volatiles ; et ne l’utilisez pas non
plus dans les zones où ces liquides sont présents. Ne pas aspirer d’acides.
35. N’aspirez pas d’objets toxiques, cancérigènes, combustibles ni d’autre matériau dangereux
tel que l’amiante, la poussière d’amiante, l’arsenic, le baryum, le béryllium, le plomb, les
pesticides, ou toute autre substance dangereuse pour la santé.
36. Faites extrêmement attention lorsque vous aspirez des cendres de bois ou de charbon, de la
suie, du ciment, du plâtre ou de la poussière provenant de plaques de plâtre. Ces particules
sont extrêmement nes ; elles peuvent passer à travers les ltres et altérer les performances
du moteur ou être diffusées dans l’air. Si nécessaire, utilisez un ltre plus efcace.
37. N’aspirez jamais d’objets en feu ou en cours de combustion, tels que cigarettes, mégots de
cigarettes, allumettes ou cendres chaudes.
38. N’aspirez jamais de l’eau salée ; cela pourrait détruire le moteur.
ATTENTION !
Pour éviter les décharges électriques, n’exposez pas l’appareil à la pluie. Rangez-le à l’intérieur.
Avant d’utiliser l’appareil, lisez le mode d’emploi et les consignes de sécurité an d’éviter les
blessures ou les dommages matériels. N’aspirez pas de matériaux inammables, combustibles
ou chauds. N’utilisez pas cet appareil à proximité de liquides ou de vapeurs explosives ; les
appareils électriques produisent des arcs ou des étincelles qui peuvent provoquer un incendie
ou une explosion. N’utilisez pas cet appareil dans une station-service ou dans une zone de
stockage ou de distribution d’essence. An d’éviter les risques pour la santé liés aux vapeurs ou à

la poussière, n’aspirez pas de matériaux toxiques, cancérigènes, ou autres matériaux dangereux
tels que l’amiante, le plomb, les pesticides, ou d’autres matériaux dangereux pour la santé.
AVERTISSEMENT DE SÉCURITÉ SUPPLÉMENTAIRE RELATIF À LA POUSSIÈRE DE CONSTRUCTION
La silice est un minéral naturel présent en grandes quantités dans les éléments tels que le sable,
le grès et le granit.
Elle est également souvent présente dans de nombreux matériaux de construction tels que le
béton et le mortier.
La silice est pulvérisée en une poussière très ne (également connue sous le nom de silice
cristalline alvéolaire) lors de nombreuses tâches courantes telles que la découpe, le perçage et le
meulage. L’inhalation de très nes particules de silice cristalline peut entraîner le développement :
Du cancer du poumon, de la silicose ou de la bronchopneumopathie chronique obstructive
(BPCO). De plus, l’inhalation de particules nes de poussière de bois peut entraîner le
développement de l’asthme. Le risque de maladie pulmonaire concerne les personnes qui
respirent régulièrement de la poussière de construction sur une période prolongée, et non lors
d’occasions isolées.
An de protéger les poumons, la loi relative à la maîtrise des substances dangereuses pour la
santé (COSHH) dénit une limite pour la quantité de ces poussières que vous pouvez respirer
(appelée Limite d’exposition sur le lieu de travail ou WEL) en moyenne sur une journée de travail
normale. Cette limite de quantité de poussières est très faible : en comparaison, elle est plus
petite qu’un centime, aussi petite qu’une pincée de sel.
Cette limite est la quantité maximale légale, le maximum pouvant être respiré après application
des contrôles adéquats.
Comment réduire la quantité de poussière ?
1. Réduire la quantité de coupe en utilisant les meilleures tailles de produits de construction.
2. Utiliser un outil moins puissant, par exemple un coupe-bloc au lieu d’une meuleuse d’angle.
3. À l’aide d’une méthode de travail complètement différente, par exemple en utilisant une
cloueuse pour xer directement les chemins de câbles au lieu de percer des trous d’abord.
Toujours veiller à travailler avec un équipement de sécurité agréé, tel que les masques
antipoussière spécialement conçus pour ltrer les particules microscopiques, et utiliser
systématiquement le système d’extraction de la poussière.
Avertissement : certaines particules de poussière créées par le ponçage mécanique,
le sciage, le meulage, le perçage et d’autres travaux de construction contiennent des
produits chimiques réputés cancérigènes et entraînant des malformations congénitales ou
d’autres effets nocifs pour la reproduction. Quelques exemples d’éléments chimiques :
• Le plomb issu de peintures au plomb.
• La silice cristalline issue de briques, de ciment et d’autres produits de maçonnerie.
• L’arsenic et le chrome issus du bois traité chimiquement.
Le risque provenant de l’exposition à ces produits varie en fonction de la fréquence d’exécution de
ce type de travaux. Pour réduire l’exposition à ces produits chimiques :
• Travailler dans une zone bien ventilée.
• Travailler avec un équipement de sécurité agréé, comme un masque anti-poussière
spécialement conçu pour ltrer les particules microscopiques.

VIBRATION
La directive européenne sur les agents physiques (vibrations) a été introduite pour réduire les
blessures dues au syndrome des vibrations main-bras occasionnées aux utilisateurs d’outils
électriques. La directive oblige les fabricants et fournisseurs d’outils électriques à fournir
des résultats de test de vibrations à titre indicatif pour permettre aux utilisateurs de prendre
des décisions éclairées quant à la durée pendant laquelle un outil électrique peut être utilisé
quotidiennement en toute sécurité et quant au choix de l’outil.
VOIR LES SPÉCIFICATIONS TECHNIQUES DANS LE MANUEL D’INSTRUCTIONS POUR LES
NIVEAUX DE VIBRATIONS DE VOTRE OUTIL.
Les valeurs d’émissions de vibrations déclarées doivent être utilisées comme un niveau minimum
et ne doivent pas être utilisées avec les recommandations actuelles sur les vibrations.
Les émissions de vibrations déclarées ont été mesurées conformément au test standard
mentionné ci-dessus et peuvent être utilisées pour comparer un outil à un autre outil.
La valeur d’émission de vibrations déclarée peut également être utilisée lors d’une évaluation
préliminaire d’exposition.
Avertissement : la valeur d’émission de vibrations lors de l’utilisation réelle de l’outil
électrique peut différer de la valeur déclarée selon la manière dont l’outil est utilisé. Voici des
exemples de conditions pouvant occasionner une différence :
La façon dont l’outil est utilisé et dont les matériaux sont coupés ou percés.
L’état et le bon entretien de l’outil.
L’utilisation de l’accessoire adapté à l’outil et le maintien de l’affûtage et du bon état de l’outil.
La force de la prise sur les poignées.
L’utilisation de l’outil conformément à l’usage auquel il est destiné et à ces instructions.
Lors du travail avec cet outil électrique, des vibrations au niveau des mains et des bras
sont ressenties. Adopter des pratiques de travail correctes an de réduire l’exposition aux
vibrations. Cet outil peut occasionner le syndrome des vibrations main-bras s’il n’est pas
utilisé correctement.
Avertissement : identier des mesures de sécurité pour protéger l’opérateur, basées sur
une estimation de l’exposition dans des conditions réelles d’utilisation (en tenant compte de toutes
les parties du cycle de fonctionnement, par exemple, lorsque l’outil est éteint et lorsqu’il fonctionne
en mode ralenti en plus du temps de déclenchement). Remarque : l’utilisation d’autres outils réduit
le temps de travail total des utilisateurs sur cet outil.
Contribution à la diminution du risque d’exposition aux vibrations. TOUJOURS utiliser des burins,
forets et lames aiguisés.
Entretenir cet outil conformément à ces instructions et le conserver bien lubrié (le cas échéant).
Éviter d’utiliser des outils à des températures de 10 °C ou inférieures. Planier votre emploi du
temps pour répartir toute utilisation d’un outil à fortes vibrations sur un certain nombre de jours.
SURVEILLANCE MÉDICALE
Tous les employés doivent suivre un programme de surveillance médicale de l’employeur pour
permettre d’identier à un stade précoce les éventuelles affections liées aux vibrations, et ainsi
empêcher l’évolution de la maladie et aider les employés à poursuivre leur travail.
