Software Installation
Introducing 2-Bay Modes
With two hard drives, NSA2-S350U supports following modes:
JBOD/SPAN - It adds capacities of two hard drives (sizes could be different) to form one
combined drive. Hard drives are used consecutively, the first drive is used and filled up first,
then the second drive is used to store data.
Normal - Two hard drives appear independent, it is like two single-drive enclosures connected
to computer. You use them as two external hard drives.
It is very important to note, neither modes offer any data protection or data redundancy in
case of hard drive failure. Like using single drive enclosure, you should back up data from
NSA2-S350U regularly for data protection.
If you want to change 2-Bay enclosure into a different mode, please back up the existing
data, then refer to the Hardware Installation section for instruction.
