Basic Operation

Plug the connector into the side of the system labelled DC 5V
(Ref.1) and the power supply into the mains. Alternatively, insert
4 x AA batteries into the battery compartment for portability.
Ensure the antenna (Ref.13) is extended as far as possible so that
you can rotate it which will enable you to get the best signal you
can. Press the ‘Power’ button to turn on the unit (Ref.3). It will
automatically take you to DAB radio mode or the previous mode
you were using.
When DAB Radio is activated for the rst time it will
automatically start scanning and storing all stations that have a
good signal. To scroll through the stations use the‘Prev’ (Ref.8)
and ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.9). Press ‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12) to listen
to a station.
To change the mode, press the ‘Mode’ button (Ref.4) to switch
between DAB Radio and FM Radio.
Standby
To place the music system in standby, press the ‘Power’ button
(Ref.3). To switch o without unplugging, press and hold the
‘Power’ button (Ref.3). To turn o power to the unit, switch it o
at the mains. The cord must be out of reach of children.

Press the ‘Mode’button (Ref.4) to switch to DAB/DAB+ Radio. On
rst use it will automatically scan all stations and save them.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.13).
To auto scan, press the‘Scan’ button (Ref.5) and then release.
This will start scanning up the frequency band and store all
stations that have a good signal up to 240 MHz.
After searching has nished, it will automatically play the rst
station stored.
To browse through all stations that have been stored, use the
‘Next’ (Ref.9) and ‘Prev’ buttons (Ref.8) to scroll through them.
When on the chosen station, press the‘Enter/Snooze’ button
(Ref.12) to begin listening to that station.
The radio will display station information when you press the
‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6). Press it multiple times to view all
information. Please see page 10 for further details.
When you turn on the radio again after it switching o, it will
automatically tune to the same station (DAB or FM) that was last
selected.

Up to 10 stations can be preset. To store a station that you are
currently playing:
Press and hold the ‘Preset’ button (Ref.7) and “<1: (Empty)” will
show on the display.
Press ‘Prev’ button (Ref.8) or ‘Next’ (Ref.9) to change the “<1” to
the preset number you want to store the station as. Follow by
pressing the ‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to save. The display
will then show “Preset (1) stored”.
Follow the same guidance to set up to 10 preset DAB stations.
How to play a preset radio station
To listen to one of your preset stations, do the following:
Press the ‘Preset’ button (Ref.7).
Press ‘Prev’ button (Ref.8) or ‘Next’ (Ref.9) to scroll through your
preset stations. You can store up to 10 presets.
Press ‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to select your choice.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you have
extended the antenna to its full length
(Ref.13). This will then enable you to rotate
it to get the best signal.

Press the ‘Mode’button (Ref.4) multiple times to switch between
DAB and FM. The rst time you do this, the FM frequency “87.5
MHz” will be displayed on the screen.
Fully extend the antenna (Ref.13).
To auto scan, press and release the ‘Scan’ button (Ref.5). This will
then start scanning up the frequency band and play the rst
station it nds with good signal.
To scan down the frequency band, press and hold the ‘Scan’
button (Ref.5) for a few seconds.
The radio will display station information when you press the
‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6), press multiple times to view all
information. Please see page 11 for further details.
To tune a specic frequency manually
To listen to a specic frequency press and hold ‘Next’ (Ref.9) to
search forward quickly and ‘Prev’ (Ref.8) to search back quickly. It
will stop searching when the button is released.
To search slowly press the ‘Next’ (Ref.9) and ‘Prev’ button (Ref.8)
multiple times rather than holding.

DAB Radio
Press the ‘Info/Menu’button (Ref.6) repeatedly to show the
dierent programme information.
Signal Strength: Displays a signal bar with the strength of the
current station.
Bit Error Rate: Provides details of the signal error rate.
Channel and Frequency: Displays the station’s transmission
channel number and frequency.
PTY (Programme Type): Shows the type and description of the
program provided by the DAB station.
Time and Date: Displays the time and date information
provided by the broadcaster.
Bit Rate: The data rate which the signal is being transmitted.
DAB indication: Indicates DAB mode.
Dynamic Label Segment (DLS): Displays scrolling text
information supplied by the broadcaster.

Press the ‘Info/Menu’button (Ref.6) repeatedly to show the
dierent programme information.
Programme Type: Displays a description of the type of
programme provided by the broadcaster.
Signal Strength: Displays a signal bar with the strength of the
current station.
Time and Date: Displays the time and the date.
Frequency: Displays the station’s transmission frequency.
Audio Type: Displays the audio type of the station you are
listening to. It will either be stereo or mono.
Radio Text: Displays scrolling text information supplied by the
broadcaster.

Manually Setting the time
The time will automatically update after the rst use of DAB
Radio. However, you can still set the time manually as follows:
Ensure the unit is turned on.
Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6) and use the ‘Prev/
Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to scroll to the “Time/Date” option.
Follow by pressing the‘Enter/Snooze’ button to conrm (Ref.12).
The hour will now ash on the display screen. Press the‘Prev’
(Ref.8) or ‘Next’ (Ref.9) button to scroll to your desired hour and
press the ‘Enter/Snooze’ button(Ref.12) to select that hour.
The minutes will now ash on the display screen. Press the ‘Prev’
(Ref.8) or ‘Next’ (Ref.9) buttons until you are on the required
minute. To conrm the minute, press‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12).
The time is now set on your radio.

Manually Setting the Date
The date can be changed after changing the time.
The year will ash on the display screen. Press the‘Prev’ (Ref.8) or
‘Next’ (Ref.9) buttons until you are on the required year.
To conrm the year, press the‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12) button.
The month will ash on the display screen. Press the‘Prev’ (Ref.8)
or ‘Next’ (Ref.9) buttons until you are on the required month.
To conrm the month, press‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12).
The day will ash on the display screen. Using the ‘Prev’(Ref.8) or
‘Next’ (Ref.9) buttons, press until you are on the required day.
To conrm the date, press ‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12).

Alarm1 / Alarm2 Setting
1. Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6).
2. To highlight your choice, use the ‘Prev’or ‘Next’buttons
(Ref.8/9)to select “Alarm 1 Set” or “Alarm 2 Set” and press the
‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to begin setting your chosen
alarm.
3. To turn the Alarm on, press‘Next’ (Ref.9) so that “ON”is
ashing and press the ‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to conrm.
4. The hour digits for the alarm will now ash. Press the‘Prev’
or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to change the hour and press ‘Enter/
Snooze’ (Ref.12) to conrm.
5. Press the ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to change the
minutes, and press ‘Enter/Snooze’(Ref.12) to conrm.
6. Press the ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to change the
volume, and press ‘Enter/Snooze’(Ref.12) to conrm.
7. Press the ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to choose the
alarm - Alarm, DAB or FM Radio. Press ‘Enter/Snooze’(Ref.12)
to conrm. If DAB or FM is set as the alarm tone, it the radio will
play the last station listened to on that mode.
To set Alarm 2, follow Alarm 1 instructions.
NOTE: You can press the‘Info/Menu’(Ref.6) button to go back to
the previous step when programming the alarm.

Alarm Functions
Cancelling the alarm
To turn the alarm o fully before it sounds follow the same steps
as you made to create the alarm:
Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6).
To highlight your choice, use the ‘Prev’or ‘Next’buttons (Ref.8/9)
to select “Alarm 1 Set” or “Alarm 2 Set” and press the ‘Enter/
Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to begin setting your chosen alarm.
To turn the Alarm o, press ‘Next’ (Ref.9) so that “OFF”is ashing
and press the ‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to conrm.
Snooze/Switch o Alarm when sounding
When the alarm sounds, press the‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12)
to snooze for 9 minutes. The radio will then go into standby
mode.
To turn the alarm o completely when it is sounding, press the
‘Power’ button (Ref. 3).

System Reset
When doing a system reset, all presets made and setting options
will be reset.
Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6).
Use the ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to highlight “Factory
Reset” and press the ‘Enter/Snooze’button (Ref.12). The display
screen will show“Factory Reset”.
Use the ‘Next’ button (Ref.9) to choose “Yes”or “No”. Press the
‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12) to conrm.
SW Version - Software Version Display
Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6).
Use the ‘Prev/Next’ button (Ref.8/9) to choose “SW Version”.
Press ‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12) to conrm.
Earphone Jack
You can listen to your DAB/FM Radio using headphones.
Just plug the your headphones into the 3.5mm socket at the rear
of the unit (Ref.2).

Sleep Setting
This enables you to programme the radio to switch o at a
specic time, up to 120 minutes from activation.
Press and hold the ‘Info/Menu’ button (Ref.6).
Use the ‘Prev’ or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9) to choose “Sleep Set”
and press the ‘Enter/Snooze’ button (Ref.12).
Choose from OFF/120mins/90mins/60mins/45mins/30mins/
15min or 5 mins using the ‘Prev’or ‘Next’ buttons (Ref.8/9).
When your choice is displayed press‘Enter/Snooze’ (Ref.12). The
system will automatically start the timer.
Once the timer has been set the minutes will countdown on
the display screen. For example, if set to turn o in 5 minutes
“S5” will ash, counting down to “S0” then the radio will go into
standby mode.
To turn the sleep timer o, follow the above instructions and
choose “OFF” from the choices.
NOTE: You can press the‘Info/Menu’(Ref.6) button to go back to
the previous step when programming the alarm.

Warranty
Technical Specications
All products come with a standard 12 month warranty. All items
must be registered on www.majorityradios.co.uk for the
warranty to be valid. Once on the web page, use the menu to
nd “ register your product”. You will also be given the chance
to extend your warranty for an additional 24 months, free of
charge.
Power Supply and Batteries
The unit is powered and charged by UK Standard Plug DC 5v.
The unit is also portable when powered by 4 x AA Batteries (Not
Supplied). These can be inserted into the battery compartment
on the back of the unit (Ref.14).
