LARGE DIVER'S QUARTZ (TSAR)
Marathon Search and Rescue (SAR) watches were developed to Canadian
Government requirements for use in SAR operations. Built to withstand extreme
conditions and match the capabilities of the user. First introduced in the early 1990s,
they are still in active use today.
Commonly known as the Tritium Search and Rescue (TSAR). The TSAR is also
known as the GSAR Quartz, as it boasts the same capabilities but with a
high-torque quartz movement.

The TSAR is made from 316L surgical-grade stainless-steel with a screw-
down crown and a synthetic sapphire crystal that allow it to operate while
submerged down to 300 meters or 1000 feet underwater.
The TSAR uses self-contained tritium gas tubes to ensure constant
visibility in low light situations. A gas tube is placed on each hour marker
and hand. These tubes are self-illuminating and contain an isotope of
hydrogen, that will not dull down over time like photo-luminescent paint.

Inside the TSAR is a Swiss-made, 3 jewel, ETA F06 high-torque, quartz
movement. These watches are hand-assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds,
Switzerland and guarantee the highest level of craftsmanship and accuracy.
The TSAR is equipped with a low-power consumption movement, with
an EOL (End-of-Life) display, whereby the seconds hand advances in 4
second increments when the battery needs a replacement.

1. Clean watch often.
Clean regularly using rubbing alcohol, a toothbrush and a microbre cloth.
2. Service regularly.
Regular servicing every four to six years will help to keep your movement

GENERAL OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE 3. Always set it forward.
During events such as daylight-savings, you might be inclined to wind your
watch back an hour, however this can put undue stress on the movement of your
watch. Always move the hands forward to reach your desired time setting.
4. Diveandswimwithcondence.
Once the crown of the watch is fully secured our SAR Dive Watches are rated
for 30ATM and are water resistant to a depth of 300 meters (1000 feet).

1. Unscrew and pull the crown from position 1 to position 4.
2. Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the time.
3. Ensure correct AM/PM settings so that the date wheel changes
at midnight and not mid-day.

2. Turn the crown clockwise to change the date.
CAUTION: Do not adjust the date wheel between 9pm and 3am as this may
damage the watch movement.

The crown must be screwed down in position 1 for optimal
water-resistance.
23 41LOCKING THE CROWN
From position 2, push the crown into position 1 and rotate clockwise to lock the
crown back into place.

Rotate bezel counterclockwise, aligning the 12 o'clock bezel
marker with the minute hand to set a starting time.
TIMING BEZEL
1. Rotate your bezel counterclockwise and align the 12 o'clock bezel marker with
the minute hand. This will set your start time.
2. Measure the minute hand against the bezel markers to count the elapsed time.
NOTE: When diving, use your dive watch as a support device along side the
recommended diving tools suggested by PADI or BSAC.

Every newly purchased Marathon Watch comes with an International warranty
covering the timepiece for any manufacturing defects within the rst two-years
of its life.

WARRANTY & SUPPORT
Marathon Watch Company Ltd. warrants this item to be free from defects in material
and workmanship under normal use in accordance with care and usage instructions
for 2 years from date of purchase from an authorized distributor. This warranty
excludes damage from misuse, abuse, or any irregular application. If we conrm a
defect, we will repair or replace it with the same item or one of similar value and
return it to you at no-charge.

LA PLONGEUR LARGE QUARTZ (TSAR)
Les montres Marathon de Recherche et de Sauvetage (SAR) ont été conçues
conformément aux exigences du gouvernement canadien pour être utilisées au
cours d'opérations SAR. Fabriquées pour résister à des conditions extrêmes et pour
correspondre aux capacités de l'utilisateur. Introduites pour la première fois au
début des années 1990, elles sont encore activement utilisées aujourd'hui.
Communément connue sous le nom Recherche et Sauvetage Tritium (TSAR). La
TSAR est aussi appelée la GSAR quartz, puisque qu’elle a les mêmes capacités mais

La TSAR est fabriquée à partir d'acier inoxydable de qualité chirurgicale
316L avec une couronne vissée et un cristal saphir synthétique qui lui
permettent de fonctionner même en étant submergée à 300 mètres ou
1000 pieds sous l'eau.
La TSAR utilise des tubes à gaz tritium autonomes pour assurer une
visibilité constante dans les situations de faible luminosité. Un tube à gaz
est placé sur chaque marqueur horaire et sur chaque aiguille. Ces tubes
sont autoéclairants et contiennent un isotope d'hydrogène, qui ne ternira
pas avec le temps comme le fait la peinture photoluminescente.

À l'intérieur de la TSAR se trouve un mouvement à quartz à couple élevé
ETA F06 à 3 rubis de fabrication suisse. Ces montres sont assemblées
à la main à La Chaux-de-Fonds, en Suisse, et garantissent le plus haut
niveau de savoir-faire et de précision.
La TSAR est équipée d'un mouvement à faible consommation d'énergie,
avec un afchage EOL (End-of-Life), qui fait alors avancer la trotteuse par
incréments de 4 secondes lorsque la pile doit être remplacée.

1. Nettoyer la montre fréquemment.
Nettoyez régulièrement avec de l'alcool à friction, une brosse à dents et un
chiffon en microbre.
2. Service régulier.
Un entretien régulier tous les quatre à six ans aidera à maintenir votre
mouvement en bon état avec une précision de niveau Marathon. Pour toute

OPÉRATIONS GÉNÉRALES & ENTRETIEN
3. Toujours régler la montre en avançant.
Lors d'événements tels que les changements d'heure, vous pourriez vouloir
remonter votre montre d'une heure, mais cela peut mettre une tension excessive
sur le mouvement de votre montre. Avancez toujours les aiguilles pour atteindre
l'heure souhaitée.
4. Plongezetnagezentouteconance.
Une fois que la couronne de la montre est entièrement xée, nos Montres de
Plongée SAR sont évaluées pour une étanchéité à 30ATM et sont résistantes à
l'eau jusqu'à une profondeur de 300 mètres (1000 pieds).
